Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 94: Meeting Her Father for the First Time
Chapter 94: Meeting Her Father for the First Time
Aurora swallows hard, trying to ease her nerves and match his step.
But just before they enter the living room, she feels a little wobble in her knee as she notices her dad striding over to greet them excitedly.
’Dad... I’m sorry if I came so late to see you,’ she spoke in her mind while clinging to Alex tighter, trying to regain her balance and steady her nerves.
"There’s no need to worry about him. He is Uncle Moon, my father’s butler, and I consider him family. He’s very kind," Alex whispered, trying to reassure her after noticing her nerves.
Aurora slightly nods. She felt both excitement and nervousness upon seeing her father again. The sight of his bright smile and the spark in his eyes, now filled with joy rather than sadness, enveloped her heart with a comforting sense of relief.
"Young Master Alex, it’s wonderful to see you back," Thomas Moon welcomed him with a warm smile before addressing the beautiful girl next to him. "This charming lady must be your wife, correct?"
"Yes, Uncle, she is my wife..." Alex responded quickly, turning to share a loving smile with Aurora.
"Welcome, Mrs. Graystone. I’m delighted to finally see you in person."
Thomas Moon smiled brightly at Aurora, genuinely happy to finally meet her. He felt joy after Alex’s parents, who often questioned whether Alex lied when he claimed to have a wife. This young man was not lying; he truly had a wife, and she looked lovely.
"Ro... Aurora..." Her voice trembled, nearly uttering her nickname. She vents her frustration internally while trying to suppress her emotions.
Thomas Moon was surprised to hear that name. Why did this woman suddenly bring up his daughter’s name?
Driven by curiosity, Thomas Moon asked, "Pardon me, young lady? What do you mean by mentioning Aurora?" He squinted at her, confused about whether this woman was acquainted with his daughter.
Aurora swallowed hard, feeling a lump in her throat. She also didn’t understand how she found the courage to start a conversation without Alex introducing her first. Then, out of nowhere, she mentioned her name.
"U-Uncle, just call me Aurora... that’s who I am," she said, trying to sound relaxed. However, her trembling voice and icy hand revealed her anxiety, making Alex feel concerned for her.
Thomas Moon was shocked to learn this woman shared the same name as his daughter. He knew about Alex’s new wife but not her name.
’Aurora...’ He whispers his daughter’s name, and instantly, his heart tightens.
"Uncle Moon, my wife’s name is Aurora Spencer," Alex chimed in, noticing that Aurora seemed uncomfortable speaking at that moment. He needed to take her somewhere private to discuss her condition.
Alex could feel that her hand was cold. He began to worry about her health. Gradually, self-blame crept into his mind; he felt remorse for forcing her to attend this party.
Thomas Moon can finally steady himself after remembering his late daughter, Aurora.
A month after Aurora’s death, Thomas Moon never accepted that she was gone, because he had never seen her corpse. Knowing that Alex is married to a young woman named Aurora brings him happiness and sadness.
Thomas Moon cleared his throat softly while gazing at the girl.
"Young lady, your name is lovely," he said gently, his warm smile on his lips. Then he turned his gaze toward Alex with a warm smile and gently gestured for him to keep walking.
"Young Master, Young Lady, please follow me; the rest of the family is excitedly waiting for both of you in the living room!"
As they walked, Alex asked curiously, "Uncle Moon, what about the other guest?" Bringing Aurora to meet his parents would be tiring if the other guests were there.
"A few have already arrived, but they are all waiting directly in the east wing hall. Your parents and Grandpa are still waiting for you to join them in the hall," He explained, pausing briefly to let them walk inside.
Thomas stood in the corner with the other staff, waiting for their master to speak privately.
Yet his gaze remained fixed on the girl beside Alex. He was still stunned to learn that Alex was married to someone with the same name as his daughter.
...
Andrew Graystone’s conversation abruptly stopped when he noticed his grandson, Alex, entering the living room with a young woman. The woman looked pretty, a good match for his grandson. They even wore matching colors. His mood suddenly improved.
He abruptly jumped from his seat, and a happy smile spread across his lips.
"Oh, Alex, my dear grandson, I feared you might come after my birthday party ended, but you kept your promise. Well, well, thank you, young man..."
Andrew Graystone’s excited words suddenly shocked Sophia Morrison and Matthew Graystone. They turned back to look.
Similar to Andrew Graystone, they promptly rose from their seats to welcome their son, Alex.
However, when they notice the woman beside Alex, their attention swiftly shifts to her. They are both taken aback by her youth and beauty.
As she watched them walk hand in hand, Sophia Morrison, who until now had not believed in her son’s impromptu marriage, began to feel doubt.
’Oh my goodness, did Alex seriously marry this girl?’ Sophia Morrison mused, flashing a friendly smile at the girl, though her piercing look revealed her doubt.
Sophia needed to observe and listen to both of them before concluding whether their marriage was genuine or merely an act. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Alex, is this girl your new wife?" Sophia gracefully approaches them. However, Alex simply smiles and walks past her. She feels upset but quickly conceals it as she returns to stand beside her husband.
"Matty, our son... he’s ignoring me! How could he?" Sophia protested softly to her husband. Matthew, however, just shook his head, giving her a disapproving look.
"Behave! Don’t ruin Father’s happiness!" Matthew Graystone whispers, glancing at his son.
...
"Grandpa, I want to introduce your granddaughter-in-law, Aurora Spencer."
Alex’s words shocked them.
