Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 127: Married?
Chapter 127: Married?
"Do you live here all the time?" Lorenzo asked.
Aurora beamed at the doubt reflected in Lorenzo’s eyes. She could understand his doubts.
Even she found it hard to believe she could call this place her home or her husband’s home.
’Gosh! Why does it feel strange to call Alex my husband?’ She shook her head, trying to push him out of her mind.
"Yes, Uncle, this is my house..." Aurora replied calmly, despite her racing heart, thinking Alex might appear.
She wished Alex would not join them; otherwise, she might have to explain her relationship with Alex to Lorenzo.
Not wanting to waste more time, she quickly reminded Lorenzo about the document she needed to sign.
Shortly after, Aurora finished her review and signed all the documents Lorenzo Romano gave.
Then, she returned the documents for him to manage in Opal City.
"Uncle, thank you for your help. I trust you to handle everything in Opal City since I may have difficulty flying back there regularly."
Aurora informed him about her internship program at one of the major companies and mentioned that she would focus on her new job. She also mentioned something about her uncle.
Lorenzo’s expression clouded instantly upon hearing Aurora’s words.
"Don’t worry, Aurora. I’ll handle everything. I won’t disappoint you..." Lorenzo assured her, despite the pressure from Ryan and Willow Spencer.
Remembering what Josh told her about Ryan Spencer, Aurora couldn’t help but ask Lorenzo for more information.
"Uncle, I heard from Josh that my uncle Ryan intimidated you? Can you explain to me what he did? Maybe I can help you," she asked.
Lorenzo Romano paused before responding, his attention focused on Josh, who sat absentmindedly on the opposite side of the sofa, absorbed in his cell phone.
He knew that the man was not Aurora’s boyfriend but her bodyguard.
Since learning this, he had become curious about Aurora, as his best friend James Spencer rarely spoke about his daughter to him when he was still alive.
Taking a deep breath, Lorenzo Romano turned his gaze back to Aurora before finally explaining what had happened since the police detained Willow Spencer.
Ryan Spencer contacted him to facilitate a meeting with Aurora. Even after he refused, Ryan continued to pressure him; the man had someone follow him everywhere he went.
This made him feel uneasy and concerned about Aurora’s condition. Upon hearing that Aurora was back in the capital, he felt relieved.
Nevertheless, Ryan continued to press him for Aurora’s address. He was thankful that he was unaware of it, as Aurora had only mentioned her address at her home in Opal City.
Aurora’s face gradually flushed red as she felt upset about Ryan Spencer’s actions. That old man is shameless like his older brother, Willow Spencer!
"Uncle Lorenzo, do you know what he wants from me? Is he after my father’s inheritance like Uncle Willow?" Aurora inquired with curiosity.
Lorenzo Romano chuckled as he shook his head slowly, "He wanted you to drop the lawsuit against Willow so that the police would not investigate him..."
Aurora found herself at a loss for words.
"My uncle is utterly shameless! How can I forgive someone who came close to killing me? Did he believe I’m Gandhi?" She sighed deeply, her frustration flashing in her gaze.
Lorenzo stifled a laugh upon hearing Aurora’s words.
After clearing his throat, he remarked, "I know, right!? They’re overstepping. They’re blinded by money. Well, Aurora, it’s better not to return to Opal City; your uncle has too many people under his influence there. You’ll be in deep trouble if you do."
"I understand. I appreciate the warning, Uncle, and your assistance as well. Thank you so much..." Aurora feels grateful because this old man is so kind to her.
"There’s no need to mention that," he smiled before continuing his words. "Since your father pays me, I’ll do whatever it takes to protect both your assets and you."
Lorenzo answered while expressing his appreciation for his late friend, James Spencer, in his heart.
After a brief chat, Lorenzo excused himself. He still had a meeting with his old friends in the city.
"I will reach out if I need anything, Aurora..." Lorenzo got up from his seat but paused when he saw a familiar young man enter the living room. He was taken aback upon realizing who the person was.
’Alexander Graystone? What is he doing here? Wait, how does Aurora know him?’ Lorenzo thought, his gaze still locked on the man beside Aurora.
Aurora also felt surprised to see Alex approaching them.
’Tsk, tsk, what timing, Alex!’ She faintly smiled at him.
"Aurora, are you done already?" Alex inquired, standing next to her. He smiled at Aurora before shifting his attention to Lorenzo Romano.
Lorenzo felt completely taken aback. He was too shocked to utter a word, watching the gentle smile Alexander Graystone offered to Aurora.
’Are they dating? Nah! There’s no way they’re a couple. The age gap is just too much..." Lorenzo dismissed his doubts quickly.
"Mr. Romano, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Alex, Aurora’s husband..." Alex said while stretching out his hand for a handshake.
Lorenzo, "..."
He gasped in disbelief before asking, "Hu-husband? A-Aurora, is that true?"
Aurora smiled faintly, observing Lorenzo’s reaction. "Yes, Uncle...Alex is my husband."
"Oh my! Why didn’t you mention you were married, Aurora?" Lorenzo exclaimed, swiftly accepting Alex’s hand and giving it a warm shake. "Mr. Graystone, Aurora, congratulations on your wedding."
"Thank you, sir..." Alex said with a warm smile, inviting him to sit again.
"Thank you, Uncle." Aurora also returned to her seat beside Alex.
"Aurora, sorry, can I ask you something?" Lorenzo hesitated to ask, but he needed to clarify this.
"Yes, Uncle?"
"Did your father know about your marriage?" Lorenzo asked. He recalled that James never mentioned Aurora’s marriage until he died.
"Of course, he knows," Alex said, prompting Aurora to look at him. When their eyes met, he took her hand and added, "He is the one who arranged my marriage to Aurora."
"James actually did that?" Lorenzo was shocked.
"Mmm, my father forced me to marry Alex—"
Alex, "..."
