Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 126: Josh’s Return Shocks Her!
Chapter 126: Josh’s Return Shocks Her!
Aurora was left speechless.
She knew this man was punctual with his time and always prioritized his work above everything, even when it came to his own family.
Watching him not doing his habit like that made her feel strange. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
’What made him do that? Could he truly have fallen in love with me?’ Aurora wonders while trying to find another plan to distract him.
However, just as she was about to think of something, Alex suddenly interrupted the silence.
"Oh, Aurora, I’m sorry... I nearly forgot about our honeymoon! Do you have any preferences? What does your dream honeymoon look like? Would you prefer an island, a mountain, or a country with beautiful, serene lakes and forests? Let me know your thoughts so I can plan it for us."
’Seriously? This is soooo not you! Who are you again?’ She looked at him silently, trying to reassure and confirm that this man was Alexander Graystone, her ruthless master who had always been cold and heartless to all six of his ex-wives.
Alex was taken aback when he saw her appear blank, staring back at him.
"Seriously, you don’t?" He asked. His eyebrow slightly arched, surprised to hear his own words. Instantly, he felt bad for her.
Aurora let out a deep sigh, expressing her frustration. She felt as if she genuinely couldn’t escape this conversation.
"Hmm, I never imagined going on a honeymoon, and I don’t have anything I could refer to as a dream honeymoon," she replied earnestly.
Seeing him gasp in disbelief, she quickly added, "Alex, let’s discuss this wonderful and crucial subject later. We have plenty of time. Agree!?"
"Yeah. Agree. You’re right, Aurora. I don’t want to rush you to pick a place for something so important. I will let you think about the place we could visit for our honeymoon. You can tell me later..." He said casually before emptying his coffee.
Aurora felt defeated and tired of speaking to him.
"Sure, I will..." She responds.
"Did you have a plan to go out today?" Alex asked.
She shook her head and replied, "I didn’t plan to go out today. Alex, can I continue to use my bedroom for my home office?"
Alex placed the napkin after cleaning his lips, "Sure. I will ask someone to renovate it for you?"
"No need. It’s already perfect for office work. I admire and enjoy the setup," she politely declined. Waiting for renovations again would be a hassle, and she doesn’t have time for it.
...
After a brief conversation about her bedroom, Aurora was surprised when Josh unexpectedly appeared in the dining room.
"Josh! You’re back! Already?" she asked.
"Yes, Ma’am. I have accomplished my missions at Opal City, so I am hurrying to resume my regular assignment as your security detail, Ma’am," Josh replied politely before shifting his attention to Alex.
"Master..." Josh stood not far from the table, his gaze fixed on Alex as if waiting for him to say something.
Alex briefly nodded at Josh before turning to see Aurora beside her. His expression shifted to gentle as he said, "I asked Josh to return early this morning. He came with your lawyer..."
Aurora was taken aback. She hadn’t anticipated that Alex would invite Lorenzo Romano to his home today.
"Alex, I truly appreciate your help. It means a lot to me," Aurora smiled at him, unsure how to convey her gratitude for his kindness.
She understands how much effort Alex puts into bringing Lorenzo Romano to the capital to meet her.
Alex let out a soft chuckle, lightly tapping her head as he said, "Don’t say those words. I’ve promised you that I will take care of him..."
Her eyes slightly trembled as she stared at him. For a second, she was overwhelmed by her emotions.
But she immediately managed to control it and simply smiled back, feeling her heart warm and her mind relaxed.
"Alright, you may go meet him first. Josh will accompany you," Alex said, standing from his seat.
He assisted her in getting up before stepping aside to make a call in the corner.
...
Aurora walked with Josh toward the living room; she briefly glanced at him and felt sorry to see how exhausted he was.
"Thank you for your hard work, Josh! You must be feeling quite tired now..." She gave him a warm, apologetic smile for including him in her family’s issue.
"You’re welcome. But, I’m not even a bit tired—I get plenty of sleep on my flight here." Josh smiled to comfort her.
His cheerful response brought her relief. "How did you manage to get that old man to come? I recall he mentioned he was busy."
"Well, trust me, he’s not busy. He can’t come here because someone’s trying to follow him. That’s why he turned you down," Josh clarified. His answer left her in shock.
Aurora hadn’t considered that possibility before. As she continued walking, suddenly, someone crossed her mind.
"Someone tailing him... You mean my uncle, Ryan Spencer?" she asked.
"Yes. And the old man seems worried and afraid because your uncle will surely harm you if he knows where you live..."
Josh continued to update her briefly on what had happened in Opal City and how he finally managed to convince Lorenzo Romano to fly early this morning.
Instantly, Aurora’s doubt about Lorenzo Romano slowly faded.
She knew Lorenzo Romano, her father’s best friend, was a good person. However, after Niles’ betrayal, she has been cautious about trusting anyone, especially those close to her father.
Upon entering the living room, Aurora immediately noticed Lorenzo Romano’s worried and fearful expression.
A warm smile spread across Aurora’s lips as Lorenzo’s gaze settled on her.
"Uncle Lorenzo, I’m sorry you had to travel this far. You must’ve been exhausted." Aurora immediately approached him.
"Aurora! Ah, so you live here." That was the first word from Lorenzo’s lips, and then a relieved smile spread across his face.
Lorenzo added, "It’s alright. I enjoy the long trip. I miss the capital. I’ve stayed in Opal City too long, and a change of view would benefit my health."
Aurora smiled while gesturing for him to sit again.
"I’m glad to see you again, Aurora. And glad that you live in such a beautiful house. Thank you for bringing me here," Lorenzo remarked before promptly sitting.
The sight of Aurora appearing vibrant and well brought him great relief.
"You’re welcome, Uncle. It’s my pleasure to have you here," she said before summoning a maid in the corner of the room to come closer. "Uncle, would you prefer coffee or tea?"
"A cup of Earl Gray Tea would be wonderful, thank you," Lorenzo smiled. "Do you live here all the time?" he inquired.
At first, Lorenzo was skeptical of Josh’s claim that Aurora was staying here.
However, as he observes her now, he begins to believe, despite the difficulty of accepting it. He understands this neighborhood well; someone like Aurora Spencer couldn’t afford a house here, even if she liquidated her father’s entire estate.
