Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 109: Unwilling To Reveal Her Identity
Chapter 109: Unwilling To Reveal Her Identity
"Aurora, the paperwork for your father’s inheritance is finalized. You can come to the office right away to sign it."
Aurora took a deep breath as she read the text message from her father’s lawyer, Lorenzo Romano.
Flying there felt quite challenging for her, especially since she came close to losing her life again.
What if Aurora Spencer’s other uncle awaits her arrival with his evil plans?
Aurora still remembered her father’s youngest brother, Ryan Spencer. She was sure that the man would not let her escape after she successfully stopped Willow Spencer’s evil intentions.
Sigh!
With her heart racing and thoughts swirling, Aurora walked to the window, allowing her gaze to drift over the serene view of the backyard.
She hoped that taking in the sight of her home would help calm her mind and ease her worries.
And it was indeed right.
It didn’t take long for her to gaze at the beautiful autumn leaves from the thick tree outside, which sparked another thought in her mind.
She typed a message to Lorenzo and sent it immediately: "Uncle Lorenzo, I returned to the capital yesterday for a particular reason. Can you come to the capital? I will cover all your travel and lodging expenses here."
She waited patiently, but Lorenzo didn’t respond after several minutes, fueling her frustration.
Aurora put aside her worry and headed to her bed to rest. She didn’t know why, but she felt a dull ache all over her body.
"Why do I feel I didn’t sleep enough last night?" she murmured, nestling deeper into the soft blanket. "Did using Alex’s arm as a pillow cause my neck and shoulders to feel this way?"
She massaged her neck and shoulders to sleep, but her phone vibrated again, prompting her to open her eyes and glance at the bedside table.
Hurriedly, Aurora checked her cell phone, assuming it was Lorenzo who had replied to her text.
However, seeing the notification made her lightly slap her forehead.
How could she forget about him?
"Are you alright over there? This is almost a day you haven’t given me any updates."
Sitting on the edge of the bed, a sour smile danced across Aurora’s lips as she typed her reply to Joe.
"Brother Joe, why do you keep asking me? I already said I accepted the offer, right?"
After sending the text, Aurora didn’t rush to put her cell phone away. She waited for Joe’s reply, and it didn’t take long for his message to appear in her inbox.
"Could I give you a call, Zee?"
Aurora was taken aback as she read his message.
She seldom communicated with Joe unless it was urgent, and throughout that time, she consistently used her fake voice while interacting with him.
This is for her safety and to protect her from his client and enemy.
As a hacker, she never exposed her identity to anyone. She always had a backup plan to keep her true identity safe.
After turning on her ’fake’ voice, she replied to his text, "Sure!"
A call from Joe appears on her screen in just a few seconds.
"Zee, I’m glad we can talk again." A gentle, raspy tone came from the other end.
When Aurora heard Joe’s voice, a smile spread across her face, she missed him but was also concerned about why he suddenly wanted to speak to her.
’Did he suspect something?’ This question immediately ran through her mind.
"Yeah, same here, bro. How’s your business going lately?" she asked calmly.
"Not bad. I appreciate your help, Zee. You’ve provided me with my source of income, and they have all been generous to me. How about you?"
"Something happened here. I lost my family recently and turned down many jobs for a few weeks." Aurora carries a heavy heart, feeling guilty for not being completely honest with him.
Aurora can’t tell him the truth: that she was the one who died, yet she oddly found herself alive again in another person’s body.
A silence hangs in the air as Joe appears too shocked to say anything.
Eventually, his anxious voice came through, "I’m truly sorry, Zee. I wasn’t aware that you’d lost your family. Can you tell me who passed away?"
"My father!" At last, she speaks honestly. She has truly lost her father, James Spencer.
"I am sorry for your loss, Zee. If there’s anything I can do to assist you, please let me know." Joe said.
The genuine offer from Joe warms Aurora’s heart. She knows how sincere and kind Joe is to her, yet she still can’t trust him completely.
She is unwilling to reveal her address and never agrees to meet him in person.
"Absolutely, bro. Everything is great; I feel better and ready for new projects!" Aurora smiles. "And for the new offer, count me in!"
With a warm chuckle, he replied, "I know that Zee; you already told me yesterday. I’m calling to see if you’ve finished the job yet!"
’Ugh! I’m really a mess...’ Aurora expressed her frustration internally.
She can’t stop thinking about Alex all day, which causes her to forget everything else, including this project.
"I got it, but haven’t started. I can work on it today and return it before the deadline."
Aurora answered calmly, standing up from the bed and walking to her study room to access her supercomputer.
"Sure, I will wait. However, please remember that the person wanted the result tomorrow. Also, regarding the payment, they have already paid me. Do you want me to transfer it to your usual bank account, or do you have another?" Joe asked.
"My usual bank account!" Aurora hurriedly answered. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"Got it!" A sudden silence fell, but Joe’s voice soon broke through, "Zee, I’ve just sent it to your bank. You can look it up now..."
"Okay, understood! Thanks, brother..." Aurora smiles while gazing at her computer screen, where the notification of the money entering her account appears.
’Nice!’
At least she could access her private Swiss bank, which she uses for her work in the underground market.
After Joe’s call ended, Aurora became curious about the identity of the person willing to offer her a job at ten times her market price.
