Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 108: Resolving Spencer Family Issues
Chapter 108: Resolving Spencer Family Issues
After removing her wig, Aurora took a seat on the sofa and contacted Josh.
With the second ring, the phone call connected immediately, and Josh’s voice was heard greeting her on the other end.
"Is everything okay, Josh?" Aurora asked, eagerly awaiting to know the progress on Opal City.
"Yes, absolutely, everything is going well here. Your uncle and his henchmen are still at the police station for questioning. We managed to convince the police commander to detain them longer."
Josh continued to explain what he had accomplished there, sharing more details about the investigation and what had happened to her uncle.
He also took a moment to update her about Niles, her father’s butler, who had unfortunately betrayed her.
After a while, Josh finally asked, "What will you do to Niles?"
Aurora paused for a moment; she had already instructed Josh on how to handle her uncle by sending him to jail under the appropriate punishment for planning murder and kidnapping.
She believed the punishment would be severe enough to penalize her greedy uncle.
However, she had not yet decided how to punish Niles. At that time, she was still uncertain about Niles’s reasons for helping her uncle.
Even though she already knew that Niles had changed sides because his family was being held hostage, whatever his reason, he should not have committed such a heinous act.
Niles must remember that her father helped him become the person he is today.
"Niles is indeed telling the truth about his family. I have evidence that my uncle abducted them, and I also have the location where they were kept..." Aurora explained.
Josh was shocked to hear that. "You already got them?"
"Yes, I will send you all the info." Aurora stood up from the sofa and walked to the study room.
She investigated it yesterday before the party, but didn’t have time to send it to Josh because Alex rushed her.
Josh was shocked to learn that Aurora had already obtained evidence. Yesterday, he had to ask Patrick for help investigating where Aurora’s uncle had hidden Niles’s family, and just a few hours earlier, he had received the results from him.
’How did this girl manage to get all the information in a short time? Did Alex tell her about it?’ Josh wondered.
"Aurora, have you sent the files?" Josh asked, eager to know if the information he got from Patrick matched what Aurora was preparing to send.
"Loading!" Aurora responded calmly, her eyes focused on her laptop screen. After a moment, she added, "You should receive it now, Josh."
"Yeah, I got it!" he answered while opening the file and reading it right away.
"Great! Now, handle everything under the law. Although Uncle Niles was forced to act that way, I believe the law should not spare him; he must face consequences, right?"
Aurora didn’t share an emotional connection with Niles, so it was easy for her to punish him. Fortunately, she had already received permission from Tina not to forgive him.
This is the best she can do now. If Aurora Spencer’s family witnesses what she is doing, they will rest in peace up there.
"Aurora, I will do as you asked. There’s no worries with everything here," Josh replied as he read the file he had just received.
Josh couldn’t believe how incredible it was that Aurora’s information was accurate and aligned perfectly with the report he received from Patrick.
’What a coincidence...’ A smile played on his lips. He had rescued the hostages before calling Aurora.
He contacted her solely to discuss what to do about Niles and to update her on Niles’s family.
However, Josh has stopped informing her about it and pretends to comply with her requests.
Aurora now feels a sense of relief; one of her issues has been resolved.
"Thank you, Josh, for your help. I’m sorry that my family situation caused you to be stuck there." She conveys her heartfelt regret.
She understands that Josh wouldn’t remain in another city when his boss, Alex, is in the capital. He consistently keeps a close watch on him.
Now, Josh is in Opal City while she remains in the capital; this is the unspoken punishment as if Alex has stripped him of his duties and relegated him to manage the usual fieldwork.
"What do you mean, Aurora? I don’t feel trapped here. I’m here to help you willingly. There’s no need to apologize..." he chuckled enough to lift Aurora’s spirits, picturing his expression.
"You should wrap things up there and come back here quickly," Aurora laughed softly, responding to his cheerful answer.
"Of course, Lady Boss. Is there anything else you’d like me to do?" he inquired. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Aurora briefly considered the urgent issue she needed him to address there.
Seconds later, something crossed her mind. "Yes, I need your help. Can you ask someone to clean and guard my father’s house? If any, assign your trusted people?"
Instead of receiving an answer, she heard Josh’s cheerful laughter.
It confused her.
"Lady Boss, didn’t Boss Alex tell you anything?" Josh asked curiously.
Instantly, Aurora feels goosebumps when she hears Josh’s question.
’What is going on? Why is everyone talking like this? Just earlier, Alvin said the same sentence, and now it’s Josh?’ she thought in disbelief.
Aurora let out a deep sigh. She finds it difficult to believe that Alex organized everything without informing her. ’Why does he do that?’
"No, Alex didn’t tell me anything. We were busy with the party, and I didn’t get to ask him what happened." She answered him randomly.
"Your husband has arranged for some people to guard your house and has someone cleaning it."
"They stay there, right?"
"Of course. They will remain there for now until you request they move out..." Josh continued hesitantly.
"No, I won’t ask them to move out. Let them guard it for a while," Aurora immediately stated. She didn’t have anyone to trust there.
What she knew was that all of Alex’s people were trustworthy—she knew them well.
After speaking with Josh, she was about to relax when another text message made her freeze when she read it.
