Chapter 266: Congratulations!

Still concerned about her condition yet eager for them to go to the hospital immediately, Sawyer smiled when he heard her question and noticed her curious eyes.

Since they had left the house, Sawyer suspected that Abigail was hiding something. She had suddenly decided to go to her office despite being on vacation. Throughout the trip, she remained quiet, which was unusual for her, as she typically appeared cheerful and talkative.

His suspicions deepened when he realized she had accidentally left her bag behind.

Sawyer gently squeezed her hand and smiled, gazing into her eyes for a long moment before he spoke. "My darling wife, did you forget something?"

"Did you forget something?" Abigail echoed his question, looking puzzled.

"Oh, Abby, you’re so predictable. Your attitude changes the moment you try to hide something from me," Sawyer said, rubbing her cheeks affectionately.

"W-What? Are you already suspicious about it?!" Abigail couldn’t believe how calm Sawyer was. "And what did I forget?" she asked.

"Well, as soon as you left the elevator, I went back to the car to grab your bag," he said, chuckling at her shocked gasp.

Abigail was speechless. She couldn’t believe she had left her bag behind. Turning to the desk, she noticed her bag sitting there. "Seriously, I forgot my bag?"

"Hmmm, you left it in the car. That’s why I came over to bring it to you..." Sawyer chuckled warmly. When he noticed her pouting and narrowing her eyes at him, he leaned in closer and kissed her enticing cherry lips deeply.

Century Hospital.

Abigail and Sawyer are at the hospital. Sawyer wants to verify the accuracy of Abigail’s pregnancy test results and ensure that both she and their unborn baby are healthy.

After meeting with the obstetrician and receiving the same results, Sawyer could hardly contain his joy. He took detailed notes so that he could support his pregnant wife during this exciting time.

Aaron Hart, who was in the room with them, couldn’t hide his smile. Seeing his best friend so tense and cautious when asking the doctor about the pregnancy was amusing.

Afterward, when they finished the doctor’s session and Abigail needed to use the bathroom, Aaron and Sawyer sat in the waiting area.

Aaron expressed his happiness for his best friend and Abigail. "Man, I can’t believe you’re going to be the first dad among us." His genuine smile lit up as he looked at Sawyer across from him. Seeing Sawyer nod with a grin, he continued, "Congrats, man! This is definitely worth celebrating."

"Thank you, Aaron. Well, you really need to find yourself a partner, too. You’re not getting any younger," Sawyer said casually. However, Aaron’s expression tightened at his words.

This wasn’t the first time someone had brought up marriage to him. His parents constantly reminded him whenever they got the chance, urging him to give them a grandchild. Sighing deeply, Aaron pushed aside his frustration and forced a sour smile for Sawyer.

"How about we grab lunch together? We can invite Rowan and Andy," Aaron suggested.

Sawyer glanced at his watch and was surprised to see it was already lunchtime. After thinking for a moment, he agreed with Aaron’s suggestion.

"Please call Andy and ask him to arrange lunch at the Century Hotel. Also, ask him to have the chefs prepare the food in advance so it will be ready to be served when we arrive."

Aaron smiled and stood up to call Andy Bennet.

Shortly after, Sawyer’s car arrived at the Century Hotel.

"Are we going to have lunch here?" Abigail asked, surprised. She noticed that Sawyer didn’t bother to park in the parking area but stopped his car right in front of the lobby.

"Hmmm, it’s already late for lunch," Sawyer explained before stepping out of the car. "I’ve asked someone to set the table for us so you can have lunch immediately." He helped Abigail out of the vehicle, ensuring her coat covered her properly.

"Be careful..." Sawyer whispered, making Abigail stifle a smile. She couldn’t believe how much Sawyer had changed after learning that she was pregnant; he had become more possessive and treated her as if she were made of fragile glass.

"Sawyer, what about your car?" Abigail asked, stunned as she watched him walk away, leaving his vehicle behind as they headed toward the main entrance.

"It’s fine. Vincent will take care of it," he replied, gesturing for her to look back.

"Oh, alright..." Abigail said, no longer surprised to see Vincent appear like a ghost. His skills impressed her.

Abigail silently followed him to the restaurant on the second floor.

...

Two pairs of eyes watched from a luxury car parked near the hotel lobby as Abigail and Sawyer entered the building. Once the couple vanished from sight, a cold male voice interrupted the silence.

"Are you okay... seeing him walk with another woman?" Harvey Jones asked casually, glancing at Serena sitting beside him.

Serena’s hands clenched tightly while trying to suppress the anger in her heart. A thin smile framed her red lips. "Of course, I’m okay. Why should I not be okay?"

Harvey chuckled as he reached out his hand to Serena, his eyes locked on her. His smile widened when he felt the softness of her hand gripping his. "Don’t worry, I’ll ensure they suffer..." He said.

"Thank you, Brother Harvey." Serena smiled at him but winced slightly when he kissed her hand. She still felt awkward and afraid to be near him, especially after they had joined forces to take revenge on Sawyer and Abigail.

"So, you mentioned that girl is just a barista?" Harvey asked, placing Serena’s hand on his thigh and patting it gently.

"Yes, that was the information I received when I looked into her background," Serena explained as she described Abigail, who worked at the Crimson Leaf Café.

Serena also informed Harvey about her recent investigation, which yielded no new information. She could not uncover anything about Abigail—no details about her past, as if she had never existed, or someone very powerful and resourceful protecting her data.

"I believe Sawyer protected her data," Harvey said, growing even more curious about Abigail Snow’s identity.
