Chapter 251: Punishment

"Lady Boss, all those articles were true. Boss Sawyer asked me to make them go viral across all platforms on the internet. However, just a few minutes ago, he told me to delete them and keep only a few that wouldn’t trend in the next few days..." Ethan explained, leaving Abigail even more confused.

"Why did he do that? I mean—" She didn’t complete her sentence as memories of her conversation with Sawyer a few days earlier flooded her mind.

"Ma’am, do you remember what happened in the restaurant that day?" Vincent asked, prompting Abigail to look at him and nod. He continued, "What happened to Serena Philips? That’s the price she paid after threatening you."

’So I was right after all...,’ Abigail thought, feeling satisfied that her assumption was correct—Sawyer had punished Serena Philips. However, she hadn’t anticipated the harshness of Sawyer’s punishment for Serena.

She quietly laughs with joy in her heart; however, that joy turns to tension when a thought crosses her mind: ’Did Sawyer plan to make Serena leave this country again?’

Abigail was stunned hearing her own words.

Meanwhile, in Sawyer’s office,

Andy Bennett arrived just in time to present his annual report on the Silverstone Group privately to Sawyer Jones, the company’s sole owner.

Sawyer had never been fond of this meeting, as he was already familiar with all the data Andy was about to present; he had received the same information from Ethan. Nevertheless, hearing Andy Bennett’s report on the Silverstone Group’s yearly accomplishments was a necessary formality.

After more than an hour of listening to Andy Bennet’s report and his presentation of the company’s plans for next year, they finally finished.

However, unlike in the past, after discussing the Silverstone Group, they continued their conversation about Serena Philips.

"Sawyer, I’ve already taken steps regarding Serena Philips. Our partners have complied with our requests until now, but I need to share something with you..." Andy said with concern.

Andy Bennet paused for a moment to check Sawyer’s expression. When he saw him, a furrow appeared on his forehead. Andy continued, "You know we have no business with J Group, right?" he asked.

"Of course, I know! Why are you asking that?" Sawyer replies, narrowing his eyes at Andy.

"Your family company still uses Serena Philips in some of its business lines as their brand ambassador and in their commercials. However, surprisingly, your sister, Angela, has agreed not to represent Serena Philips as the brand ambassador for her company." Andy explained, anxiously watching how Sawyer would respond.

Sawyer cupped his hands beneath his chin while gazing at his cell phone on the table. His thoughts wandered to his mother’s birthday, just a few days away. He needed something to ensure his brother wouldn’t come after him through Abigail if they met later. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

He chuckled inwardly when a thought crossed his mind; gazing at Andy, he ordered, "Go make my dear older brother busy!"

Andy was stunned. He knew how bad Sawyer’s relationship with Harvey Jones was, but Sawyer never intended to interfere with J Group. Instead, he consistently asked him to avoid them in business.

’Why is he asking me to deal with his brother now?’ Andy narrowed his eyes, trying to check whether this man was serious.

After a few more seconds, Andy finally expressed his curiosity, "Sawyer, do you really want to trouble the J group? Are you sure?"

Sawyer rubbed his eyebrow, a smirk spreading across his lips as he said, "You sounded like you didn’t have the confidence to face and handle my older brother!?"

In response to his words, Andy quickly shook his hands, "No, of course, I have all the confidence I need to do your instruction. I mean, what if they suffer a lot because of my actions? Your dad and grandpa might be stressed, even hurt."

"I admire your confidence, Andy! You’ve never disappointed me, my man...and don’t worry about my dad and grandfather. They’ll be fine." Sawyer smiles as he gives him a thumbs-up.

"Thank you, boss," Andy smiles back, though he still feels concerned about his father and grandfather.

"You only need to disrupt J Group’s business; I recommend targeting their recent operations. I will also make sure he’s preoccupied with his personal matters..." Sawyer explained, a playful smile emerging on his lips.

"Yes, I will do what you asked, boss," Andy confidently replied. He was excited to finally do what he had wanted for a long time: teach Harvey a lesson after realizing how evil that man was to his boss.

"Perfect!" Sawyer said, looking at Ronan. "You will assist Andy with it and make sure to report to me anything that happens." He needs to pay attention to J Group’s downfall.

Sawyer smiles with delight as he imagines his plan to distract his brother. He will ensure that Harvey cannot have a peaceful life if he tries interfering with his personal affairs.

...

Later, the meeting finally ended.

Sawyer dismisses the three of them and searches for Abigail in the activity room. He is surprised to see them playing pool now.

He paused in his tracks when he saw his wife’s incredible skill at playing billiards; she could even beat Ethan.

With a proud smile, Sawyer steps forward and clears his throat to capture their attention.

"Sawyer, are you finished with your meeting?" Abigail smiles with her eyes as she sets down her cue. "I’m done, guys. Have fun..." she said, leaving the table to approach Sawyer.

He reached out his hand to take hers. "I didn’t know my little wife could actually play billiards."

Abigail smiles amusingly as she hears his complimenting words, "Do you believe me if I said this is the first time I’m playing billiards?"

"Really? No way!" Sawyer’s eyebrow arches slightly. It’s hard for him to believe her words. He takes her hand and walks outside the room. "How could you play better than Ethan?"

Abigail laughed at his expression of disbelief, which resembled Ethan’s and Vincent’s earlier expressions. After they taught her the basics, she quickly improved her playing skills.

She reveals everything about how Vincent and Ethan taught her to play pool, but she can sense his doubt. She stopped trying to convince him to believe it.
