Chapter 355: Training

Cedric was initially upset because she was taking long to arrive, he was always a strict person when it came to training.

If she was determined to get stronger he was going to make sure she achieves it, no excuses whatsoever.

When she arrived at first he clearly sensed her presence but wanted to ignore her at first until he heard the knights silent whispers they had no idea he could hear.

How they fought against stealing glances of the princess knowing he would be against it. Clearly they were stunned at her appearance in the training grounds, Cedric thoughts maybe it was just because they never imagined the princess trying to train.

He didn’t expect it to be something even he was uncomfortable with a subtle jealousy filling his heart.

It was hard having such a good looking wife, her casual presence was distracting to the knights who mostly were all single. There wasn’t any seductively or exposing about her outfit because she was completely covered down to her long leather boots.

Abrielle just had the body that could make any outfit amazing, with her slender curvy body. That smile completed everything and he regretted immediately, his annoyance was towards himself.

"Are you upset because of it? This is practical that’s why I wore it, maybe I will ask for more loose clothes." She asked, clearly sensing something off.

"It won’t help with a body like yours, it doesn’t matter what you wear it will still turn me on. Now I regret agreeing to this. Now I have to control my urge to pin you against a wall and make you scream as I grind into you."

He was too blunt for her to handle, her cheeks went completely scarlet nervous that someone might have heard him.

"How can you say something like that?" Her cheeks burned, her eyes trying to avoid his gaze. Her guard wasn’t up against him but she wasn’t sure her heart could handle his bluntness.

"It’s the truth, Do you really have to train? I am strong enough to protect you." Cedric possessively said, his hand still on her forehead. It seemed like he was having a headache.

"If I am too distractive for you, maybe you can get another trainer because you can’t go back on your words." Abrielle pouted, her cute expression drawing his attention to her lips.

"Only if it’s that easy, there is no proper female instructor for you; Evelyn will be too brutal and she is an assassin and like hell I would let any man be constantly close to you while being dressed like that. This is my curse I have to live by."

She was stupified. Abrielle didn’t sense anything too special about her outfit. "You are just overreacting." Her eyes rolled at him.

"Next rule Cedric, this just seems like an excuse." He scored then continued listing his rules

"Thirdly always obey my instructions no instructions, no complaints, no eye rolling. If you seem ...."

He kept on talking mentioning the rules which were outrageous and too strict. He was serious when he said he wasn’t giving her any special privileges.

A dreadful smile hung on the princess lips as she listened. The knights went on with their daily routine ignoring them.

"Do you have any complaints?" He had the nerves to ask. She doubted there was any affection in him.

"I thought you said I can’t complain." She grumbled at him. She has tons of complaints she had to swallow back in her throat

"That’s perfect, the last rule: when we train I am General Cedric and not your husband." There was something sinister about his voice that made her nervous, still her sassy guts retorted.

"I didn’t know there was a difference, to me you are both equally wicked." She snorted looking him straight in the eyes. A privilege only her had, she could look at him in defiance and get off with it.

"We will see about it. It seems you still have the same boldness or will I say lack of fear against either versions. Let’s get started."

He led her away from the training grounds, she followed behind confused where they were going to. She wondered if he preferred they used a more private place because she was secretly nervous training with the knights. She didn’t want to make a fool out of herself.

"Where are we going to?" She asked sounding worried.

"For a run, before you can train in combat you need to work on your stamina." They were in a more quiet part of the estate, only a few guards were seen patrolling between the trees. It felt like they were out in the wild

Cedric stopped in front of an old sandy path, then waited for her to catch up. Her legs were already aching her and they were yet to start.

"You can now start."

Her eyes went wide looking at the endless road. "Now? Where do I stop? " Several questions left her lips at once.

"You stop when I say so. Start running, your holiness," his instructed with his voice laced with sarcasm.

She braced herself then started running. Abrielle glanced back to see Cedric casually jogging a few paces behind her to keep up with her speed.

This was an endurance race so she didn’t speed off too much and maintained a steady pace. Cedric smiled at her tactic, he was proud she quickly figured it out.

minutes passed and she was slowly getting exhausted. Normally she could run for longer times but she was already exhausted from the walk here. Training felt different from when she tried escaping from captivity, the adrenaline kept her going.

"Can I take a short break?" She requested while panting heavily.

"Not a chance it’s been barely 10 minutes." Cedric sneered at her. She clenched her hands and tried to run longer.

minutes later her legs could barely move, the rocky dusty road was not easy to run on. She asked him to train her in combat and not teach her how to run a cross country.

"What about now?"

"Still no Abrielle," he chuckled this time finding her whinings amusing. She had spirits but was still the sheltered daughter deep down.

Abrielle bit back her complaints again and continued dragging her feet.

Her heart skipped a beat, she tripped against a rock. Her feet went off balance and she fell on the floor scrapping her knee.

"Ouch," a sharp hiss left her lips, she sat on the ground hugging her injured knee. Cedric stopped bedside her. His sharp gaze on her. "I didn’t tell you to stop running."
