The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 345: Spar under the rain
Chapter 345: Spar under the rain
A smirk graced Abrielle’s mind. "I would love to see the training grounds." There was something about Abrielle’s smirk that made Evelyn feel unsettling.
"I am not sure that you are allowed to be there," Evelyn replied, being mindful of her words. Abrielle’s eyes narrowed at her. The princess knew a certain someone would not want to see her there, but she just wanted to.
There was a scene she pictured in the book when Cedric had brought the original Callista here, more like he kidnapped Callista, but that’s not something that is not something she wanted to dwell in.
So, back to the focus, there was a scene she wrote about the training; come on, who didn’t want to see a bunch of handsome men training shirtless under the rain to train their endurance?
"Why is that? I thought I could see the entire castle." Abrielle answered using Evelyn’s words against her. The maid was tongue-tied.
"It’s dangerous, plus it’s raining at the moment," Evelyn replied. That was a smart attempt.
"I want to see Cedric, and besides, is there no way to see the training grounds without getting under the rain," Abrielle asked sweetly, she was trying to use her cuteness on Evelyn.
Only if that jerk gave her equal authority he had but who was she to complain. Evelyn was probably annoyed by her after her failed escape.
"Fine, I guess it’s not a bad idea."
Evelyn didn’t know why she gave in. Cedric gave her a series of strict instructions when it came to Abrielle, but on the other hand, Abrielle was her mistress.
The pit-pat sounds of the rain, as it hit the roof, echoed around the halls. The rain had gotten heavier but Cedric wasn’t going to stop the men.
It had been a while since he last instructed the trainees. The year had been hectic. Luckily, there wasn’t any major war around the corner that he would be forced to go to.
A groan left the prince’s lips as he cracked his neck, which was a bit stiff. His eyes were on the training grounds; the men had gotten a bit dull because they hadn’t been at war for a while.
The air smelled like wet grass and mud. Groans and roars echoed as the knights clashed together.
He practically has a small army at his disposal here. All hand-picked by him away from Kaiden’s eyes. "Let them start all over again. If they don’t get it right they should take 10 laps around the estate." Cedric instructed Curtis his third in command after Axel and fourth strongest under his ranks
Curtis was the one in charge of the training and handled things here while he was gone. "I am sorry they have gone weak under my command," Curtis said, seeing the disappointment in Cedric’s eyes.
The prince stood under a shade monitoring their progress. He couldn’t stay at Blackthorn for long; Eleanor was already making moves in the court, and Eleanor was not even the biggest threat Lucian was.
Lucian was a quiet, slow poison, hard to predict. Kaiden was still strong but things felt off. He wondered if there would be a move for the king to abdicate and then for Lucian to ascend
Once Lucian or Alfonso was king he was a dead man. They weren’t going to let a threat like him roam free but he could not rush back to the capital until Abrielle would be able to travel.
"It’s not your fault they are too relaxed. Perhaps a little demonstration would help." Axel suggested that he was already ready for a fight, different from Elias, who was calmer.
"It’s been ages since I last saw you spar, your highness," Curtis mentioned. Cedric scoffed.
"What’s the need when fighting any of you doesn’t count as training. I find it boring when I have to hold back." Cedric answered, none of the men took offence to his words because they had seen Cedric battle.
The only person who could give Cedric a fight was either Lucian or Kaiden in his prime.
"Don’t make us sound that bad. How about you take on all three of us, Elias, Curtis and I? If that’s not enough, we can get Cassandra here. Taking on your best 4 fighters would be fun," Axel suggested, and Elias rolled his eyes, not in the mood to get under the rain, but Curtis was digging the idea.
"Are you that pathetic you need a woman’s support to fight?" Cedric taunted his words unfiltered. Elias did his best to hold back his laugh with a silly grin on his face.
"In my defence, I don’t count Cassandra as a mere woman. She can force me on my knees if it is a battle to the death, but I am a better swordsman. She is a magic user, which works to her advantage. " Axel defended his honour.
"I think a single spar doesn’t seem like a bad idea then. Get me a sword." Cedric agreed, Axel grinned like a dog that just got a treat. He always looked forward to sparring with Cedric to learn more ingenious moves used by the prince.

Abrielle’s heels clicked against the floor as Evelyn led her, "We can’t go down, but the view from there would be great." Evelyn suggested. At the end, there was a door that led to an open passage, the edges secured with rails.
It was on the second floor and gave a good view of the training grounds below. From the door, she could already hear swords clashing against each other. "There seems to be a heavy fight going on."
Evelyn’s lips pursed into a thin line. Her guts told her Axel had convinced Cedric to fight. The fight-obsessed lunatic, at times, bothered her to teach him. What can an assassin like her teach a swordsman?
They finally arrived at the passage and Evelyn was half correct. Abrielle’s eyes sparkled as she watched a fight unfold between Cedric and his top knights
The other knights stood in admiration as they watched them fight. Cedric’s eyes narrowed with an evil smirk. He didn’t need to look up to know she was here.As stubborn as always.
