The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 605: Siren powers were acting up
Chapter 605: Siren powers were acting up
"How far do we need to go? We are already crossing the werewolves’ territory," Elliana said, looking around suspiciously as the wolf kept leading them on.
The wolf didn’t stop. Rather than that, it increased its pace even more.
"Will you be able to go that far, Jasmine?" Elliana asked.
She needed to be considerate of the wolf since she was sitting on top of it.
Jasmine raised her head before howling slowly in agreement.
Elliana patted the back of her wolf friend before bending to have a better grip on her fur as Jasmine also increased her pace.
Elliana looked at the area around her, the large trees starting to change into even longer trees as soon as they crossed a few pathways.
It was clear that they had entered another forest now.
They have been riding for more than half an hour now.
Elliana calculated the time in her mind. She was gone for one hour, but when she had asked the maid when Mr. Marino left, she said it wasn’t long ago. No matter how fast the car was going, they wouldn’t have been able to come this far.
Not to mention she crossed some of the distance with her car too before it crashed. There was no news from Nathaniel either. Elliana bit her bottom lip as she felt her heart pounding terribly in her chest.
Her pupils started to dilate.
No. No. No. This shouldn’t be happening at a time like this. Elliana blinked her eyes curiously to keep herself conscious as her siren powers started to act terribly inside her.
Why were they acting like that? She didn’t even use any of her powers to trigger them. If her siren powers started to act and tried to take over her witch powers then- Elliana’s fists clenched Jasmine’s fur in a powerful and painful grip, making the wolf whimper slightly.
She raised her hand and looked at the trident mark that was appearing on her hand. Tears blurred her vision as the pain in her heart increased even more.
*Cough* *cough*
Elliana placed her hand on her mouth, coughing blood, the droplets of blood sprinkling on her mark, making it glow with a red haze.
Jasmine, who smelt the scent of blood immediately made a sudden halt, almost making Elliana’s body fall on the ground.
"Boss? What’s wrong? Why - Boss!" Jasmine widened her eyes as she looked at her boss who was crouching on the ground.
It was painful. Quite painful than she could bear at the moment. Elliana’s gaze fell on the glowing mark that was definitely a bad indication.
With her trembling hands, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked at the wolf in front of her.
Even in the pain, she clicked her fingers to dress the girl in front of her so she didn’t look indecent.
"C-call someone," Elliana whispered as she unlocked the phone, gasping at the pain. It was becoming hard for her to even lift her hand, let alone do something.
Jasmine looked at her boss worried before quickly taking the phone from her hand.
Elliana, who was breathing heavily, coughed even more blood as a tear of blood fell from her eyes and she nearly choked on her own blood.
This wasn’t supposed to happen like this. If her powers didn’t get triggered when she was trying to save her dad, why did they trigger like this when she was just riding and trying to find her husband who-
Elliana’s heart thumped loudly. She looked around herself and realization finally dawned upon her.
It was related to this forest. This weird smell in the air... Why didn’t she notice it earlier? It was the smell of human blood. And naturally, sirens who feed on humans definitely feel attracted to it.
She had never felt attracted to this smell before because there were still locks on her haven that were storing the siren powers but now that 9 unlocks came undone, it was inevitable to feel the pull.
But why would she smell human blood here in the middle of the forest that wasn’t anywhere near the human kingdom?
The answer was right in front of her.
As she had guessed earlier, it was a well-thought-out plan.
Elliana scoffed.
She could feel something was wrong the moment she saw that wolf. How could a wolf who was running from other wolves to save its life use the scent-hiding spray? It was clear that he was lying at that moment and probably wanted her to follow him.
It was the sole reason Elliana had asked Nathaniel to look over things from the sky so he could alert her if something went wrong.
Though she could feel that the wolf was lying, she also knew that King Marino was in some kind of trouble or her heart wouldn’t have thumped like that earlier.
Thus, with hopes that even if he was trapping her, he was probably taking her to where her husband was, she followed him.
Besides, she had a little too much confidence in her powers. That even if something went wrong, she would be able to overcome it with their help. But who would’ve thought things would come down to this?
For someone to be able to plan this, there was no doubt that the person probably knew about her secrets of hiding her siren powers inside her.
Azrael was still in those caves and Leila was also sick and under their care. Could it be Arizona? But didn’t she say she was in the path of goodwill?
And even if that was the case, why would the werewolves help her out of the blue? Werewolf was one kind of species that didn’t particularly fancy any other species. They just were a little friendly with humans because according to them, humans were the lowest of all of them and deserved protection.
However, those thoughts also started to change in recent years when they noticed the development of armories in human-based kingdoms.
So what could it really be? Elliana thought as she felt her body becoming weaker with each passing second.
"Boss, what is happening? Why are you coughing blood? I know a few things and know coughing blood is not good for witches," Jasmine fell on her knees as she tried to support Elliana.
"J-just call!" Elliana seethed through her teeth, her vision blurring, making it hard for her to even look straight.
This can’t be just human blood. They were mixing something in this scent.
And if the smell was so strong and they knew she would be coming here, the chances of those people coming here sooner or later were -
Elliana couldn’t even complete her thoughts when the wolf who was leading them returned and looked at the girl in front of it.
The wolf quickly changed back into its human form and Elliana’s gaze started turning dark.
"Hey, what happened? You were fine earlier. Why are you coughing blood? Did you get hurt? Are you sick?" The man asked, genuine worry in his eyes that confused Elliana.
"You knew, right? You knew all along," Elliana managed to speak and the man looked at her with squinted brows.
Jasmine tried to call the last number that Elliana dialed and noticed it belonged to one of the princes of the vampire kingdom.
"Princess Elliana, we will find Sebastian -" Stephano immediately started, but before he could say another word, Jasmine cut him off.
"Please help us. Boss is with us. I am a member of her Rogue Wolves team. She is coughing blood and on the verge of losing consciousness. I don’t know what to do. Please, I beg you to come and help us. We are..." Jasmine looked around to figure out what forests these were.
"We are in Cellist forests," Jasmine said and Stephano who hadn’t expected to hear this kind of news widened his eyes
Cellist forests? What the hell was Princess Elliana doing there? Did Sebastian not tell her that the forests were recently taken over by human rogues who were conspiring against them?
Wait. That wasn’t the most important part. Princess Elliana was coughing blood and it was definitely an alarming thing.
"We will be there soon. Keep her safe," Stephano said and he quickly sat in his car, asking his driver to rush to the site while he talked to other teams in the Sun City which was the nearest city to the forests.
He then proceeded to call Vincenzo and Marcus, since they didn’t know why Princess was being like this, and maybe Marcus’s knowledge of herbs could help them.
Stephano clenched his fists by his side. It was one thing after the other.
It was almost as if from the moment they found out about Prince Angelo and he ran out of the kingdom, peace was taken away from them.
’Please pick up the call,’ Stephano whispered to himself as he dialed Sebastian’s number once again.
He waited for two rings, and when no one picked up, he was about to end the call, when to his surprise and relief, someone picked up the call.
"Hello?" Sebastian?" Stephano said, not wanting to go straight to the point when he didn’t know who it was on the other side of the line.
"I don’t have time for pleasantries. Someone got Elliana," Sebastian’s cold and controlled voice resonated from the other side.
It was clear to Stephano that he was in pain and he wondered what really happened.
"Are you - never mind. I know where Elliana is. She is in the Cellist forests and something is wrong with her. Someone named Jasmine called and said she was coughing blood and on the verge of losing her consciousness. What is happening, Sebastian?" Stephano asked, but to his surprise, rather than answering him, Sebastian ended the call, probably to rush to the place.
