Chapter 69: Chapter 69- The Martial Hall

The Martial Hall was a pavilion.

So it should be called the Martial Hall Pavilion.

However, in truth, this monstrosity could not be called a pavilion.

It was simply too large!

Perhaps it would be more fitting if it was called a pagoda.

The Martial Hall Pagoda.

Inside the Martial Hall Pagoda, the screams of-

"WHOAAAA!!!!"

Ehem... the screams of hotblooded youths could be heard echoing out as they cheered for their contestants battling.

Sol who was at its large entrance, actually took a step back due to the uproar. He even saw the Martial Hall Pagoda tremble a little.

Sol was absolutely terrified. It seemed like this monstrosity was waiting to swallow him whole. He had never seen a structure so large before.

Even Little Zeel who was sleeping was forced to wake up.

"Haha, there’s no need to feel intimidated by it. You’ll eventually get used to the atmosphere inside."

Mar-Dule patted Sol on the back and nudged him forward.

A few of the many disciples that were entering the Martial Hall Pagoda glanced at Sol and smiled in amusement that he need Mar-Dule to comfort him.

However, after they looked away, their heads suddenly snap back towards Sol as if realizing something.

With wide eyes, they would turn and hurry into the Martial Hall Pagoda like they were being chased by bloodthirsty demons.

"...???"

Mar-Dule caught a glimpse of this happening and was utterly confused. But before he could comment on it, Sol asked.

"Brother Mar-Dule, just what kind of place is this?"

"Haha, why don’t we just enter and you’ll see?"

Mar-Dule placed the incident at the back of his mind and urgingly guides Sol through the large entrance.

Sol took Little Zeel off his head and held him in his hands while apologizing for bringing him here. He didn’t know it would be this loud.

However, Little Zeel didn’t seem to mind, he look a bit better after sleeping for a while.

As soon as Sol entered the Martial Hall Pagoda, the screams of several thousand disciples bombarded his senses.

He felt dizzy.

This was new to him, Sol had never seen or experienced so many people gathered in one place.

"Brother Sol, are you alright?"

Seeing Sol’s distress, Mar-Dule patted his back with a worried expression on his face.

"I-I’m fine, I just find it hard to breathe."

Hearing this, Mar-Dule looked around and after finding some green robe youths, he talked to them for a brief moment. They then nodded before gathering around Mar-Dule and Sol and then clearing the space around them.

Sol wanted to say this wasn’t needed but it was already too late.

"D-Damn it, just who’s so important that you’re shoving us away?"

"Yeah, who is it, I’ll challenge you to a match right now for being so arrogant!"

The angry yells of the youths in the surroundings all came in, however, when they saw who these green robe youths were escorting through the crowd, their expressions change.

The disciple who was yelling for a battle immediately clamped his mouth shut and ducked into the crowd before he could be identified.

It was Wild Demon Mar-Dule.

Instead of being forced to part, the crowd now began to create a path themselves.

Mar-Dule and Sol while being escorted by the Runes and Formations Pavilion disciples, walked and came to a stop at the edge of a stage.

Two people were busy locked in combat on this stage; the rapid sounds of their weapons clashing could be heard.

Soon enough, the disciples in the area looked away from Mar-Dule and back on the battle in front of them; their screams echoing out once more.

"Brother Sol, are you feeling better?"

Forcing a smile, Sol responded.

"This wasn’t really necessary brother Mar-Dule."

Mar-Dule waved his hand and said.

"Don’t worry about it, I don’t do this often but if it wasn’t done like this then we’ll never get any peace while we’re down here. So, what do you think of the Martial Hall?"

Sol glanced around and then said.

"It’s huge."

He saw that there were many more stages with people fighting on them in the surroundings. Probably around a hundred at the very least!

Seeing how amazed Sol was Mar-Dule chuckled and then said.

"Look up."

Sol did as he said, and first, he wasn’t expecting anything, but what he saw overhead caused his mouth to hang open slightly.

What Sol saw was more stages floating overhead. No, even beyond that he saw more stages floating above those ones.

"That’s..."

"The Martial Hall is separated into the Mortal Arena, the Earth Arena, the Sky Arena, and the Heaven Arena. The Mortal Arena consists of a pool of one thousand people. Those one thousand people fight to enter the top ten of their arena so they can challenge those in the Earth Arena, which has five hundred people. Then those in the Earth Arena battle to enter the top five so they can challenge the one hundred disciples in the Sky Arena. Lastly, those in the Sky Arena battle to enter the top three so they can challenge the ten disciples in Heaven Arena."

"Only ten disciples are in the Heaven Arena?" freёweɓnovel.com

Seeing how Sol skipped all the other arenas and immediately asked about the Heaven Arena, Mar-Dule knew he was just like him.

Someone who wasn’t afraid to go looking to fight a powerful opponent.

"I’m sure you know of the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Families right?"

Sol nodded.

"Then, you know that they’re extremely powerful and influential. Even though the Shaolin Temple claims that the Martial Alliance Academy is a neutral ground where anyone of any background could enter and fight for resources. But in actuality, the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans have a monopoly on the resources in the academy. Even the five Grand Elders are either from the Six Holy Sects or the Five Great Clans, with even the Huashan Sect having two Grand Elders! They claim to have "defected" to stay neutral, but that’s dog shit."

Mar-Dule paused and allowed Sol to digest what he said. Afterward, he continued.

"As for those in the Heaven Arena, the ten positions are filled with the young masters and top geniuses from the Six Holy Sects and Five Great Clans. At no point since the founding of the Academy did someone other than them has entered the Heaven Arena. This feat has even become widespread and acts as a badge of honor to show how great they are. But..."

Mar-Dule’s eyes suddenly glowed with intense desire as he said.

"I’ll definitely climb the ranks and enter the Heaven Arena!"

"Which arena is Brother Mar-Dule in now?"

All of a sudden, Mar-Dule’s expression became embarrassed as he coughed and said.

"I’m only in the Earth Arena, but that’s only because I just entered the academy and was too focused on cultivating. With time I’ll be able to enter the Sky Arena and challenge those arrogant bastards in the Heaven Arena!"

Sol smiled at Mar-Dule’s words before he went back to watching the battle on the stage in front of him.

The two youths seemed skilled, but their postures when attacking were full of mistakes. And Sol knew this even though he didn’t use a weapon.

"So, brother Sol, don’t you want to join the Martial Hall?"

Mar-Dule suddenly asked, drawing Sol out of his analytical thoughts.

Sol thought for a moment then asked.

"Are there any rewards for joining?"
