Chapter 68: Chapter 68- I’ll Give It To You For Free

Sol saw the youth take a step towards him; his eyes radiating a threatening glare.

However, that wasn’t the only thing Sol saw in his eyes. Being so close he was able to see what looked like runic symbols in his eyes.

"...???"

However, before Sol could confirm what he really saw, Mar-Dule suddenly pulled him back and shoved the youth hard.

The easy-going and cheerful Mar-Dule’s demeanor shifted to become hostile and almost vicious.

The change was so drastic it was rather jarring to witness.

"Back off."

Mar-Dule growled out as he positioned himself between the youth and Sol.

The youth having been shoved by Mar-Dule finally realized his existence, and his expression couldn’t help but change.

He had been so focused on the bracelets Sol was wearing that he completely neglected the other person Sol was with.

And as it turns out it was an annoying person.

"Mar-Dule I have no enmity with you or your Runes and Formations Pavilion, don’t interfere with my Irregular Dharma Pavilion’s matters." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

In the academy, the disciples of the Irregular Dharma Pavilion would viciously bully people from the other Pavilions.

However, there was one Pavilion’s disciples they slightly avoided and that was the Runes and Formations Pavilion.

The Barbarian tribes were known for their physical strength and runes, but what truly stood out to people was their brutal nature and their prone to violence.

It was something innate because of the harsh environment of the Eternal Desert they were raised in. They had no other choice but to become savages in order to survive.

However, what would happen if you take someone from the Barbarian tribe out of that harsh environment where they did anything to survive, and then place them in Jianghu where they had to follow rules and act ’normal.’

They stuck out like a sore thumb.

And the worst of them all, the one who was known to be extremely vicious even among his own tribe members, was the Barbarian tribes’ genius Mar-Dule.

Otherwise known as Wild Demon Mar-Dule.

Despite only entering the academy for nearly two months, his vicious reputation had already spread throughout the academy. No, even before entering the academy there were talks about him in Jianghu.

He was one of the Rising Stars after all.

This youth tried to tip-toe around this ticking time bomb of a person while mentioning his Irregular Dharma Pavilion. However, Mar-Dule was unphased.

In response to this youth’s words, he said nothing and only stared him down.

It looked like Mar-Dule would attack if the youth insisted on approaching Sol.

Sol who was behind Mar-Dule saw that things might escalate so he place his hand on his shoulder and said.

"It’s okay brother Mar-Dule, let me handle this."

Mar-Dule glanced at Sol before he retreat back.

He fully well knew Sol could handle himself. Where he instead put his focus, was on the red robe disciples standing some distance away behind the youth.

"Fellow disciple, could I ask for your name?"

Sol cupped his fist and asked this with a smile.

Mar-Dule paused, taken aback by his polite demeanor.

If it wasn’t because he knew Sol and what he did to this person previously, Mar-Dule would have thought Sol was being polite to this person because he was afraid of offending him.

The youth, however, smirked at Sol and said flatly.

"Geon-Soo."

Still smiling Sol said.

"Brother Geon-Soo, I apologize for my behavior before. I’d gladly give these bracelets to you."

Geon-Soo seemed to stand a bit taller as he tilted his head back and said causally.

"It looks like you’ve come to you’re senses, tell me your price and I’ll double it."

A bit of arrogance was in Geon-Soo’s voice as he said that.

Sol nodded, but instead of offering a price, he said.

"Ah, brother Geon-Soo, in order to clear the animosity between us why don’t I gift them to you for free?"

Not only Mar-Dule, but even Geon-Soo was also a bit confused about Sol’s attitude.

Mar-Dule had to look at Sol’s smiling expression carefully. He was wracking his brain to try and understand if Sol was really acting or not. He couldn’t tell at this point.

Meanwhile, Geon-Soo was staring at Sol with a curious but cautious look. However, he wouldn’t refuse if Sol wanted to gift him these bracelets for free.

"Fine, then I’ll let these bracelets be a sign of our friendship."

Geon-Soo had received gifts before from people trying to befriend him, so he treated Sol’s actions as him having the same intentions as those people.

Sol bowed towards Geon-Soo before he took off the bracelet on his right wrist and handed it to him.

However, just as Geon-Soo was about to take the bracelets from his hand, Sol suddenly let the bracelet drop to the ground.

BANG!

A shockwave exploded between the group and dust rise into the air as their robes flapped uncontrollably.

When the dust cleared, Mar-Dule and Geon-Soo looked at the source of the shockwave.

The bracelet.

Immediately, their pupils contracted when they saw how it was embedded into the ground. Even fissures could be seen snaking from the point of impact towards their feet.

However, Mar-Dule’s eyes soon focused on Sol himself and his pupils constricted even further. Even a slight chill went down his spine.

Sol’s figure in his eyes became slightly bigger even though he hadn’t really grown physically.

For Mar-Dule, he had faced life threatening dangers ever since he was young in the Eternal Desert. There was even a whole ritual that men of the Barbarian tribes have to complete when they turned thirteen. And that was to venture out of the tribe and into the Eternal Desert to hunt a specific Spirit Beast and bring its head back.

Mar-Dule developed an instinct to detect danger because of this. His senses had even gone a step further to allow him to sense someone’s strength, although vaguely.

Before Sol had taken off the bracelet, Mar-Dule was seventy percent confident he could kill Sol in a life-and-death battle.

But after Sol took off that bracelet, Mar-Dule’s seventy percent confidence plummeted straight to zero in an instant.

The change was too drastic that it completely freaked him out.

As for Geon-Soo, his emotions were as intense but for a different reason.

His heart grew cold when he saw how close the bracelet was from falling onto his foot.

"Ah, it slipped, my bad brother Geon-Soo."

Sol’s deadpan voice echoed out, and Geon-Soo’s eyes twitched as he raised his head to glare at him.

"If you want it then I suppose you’ll have to pick it up."

The coldness in Geon-Soo’s eyes increased even more when he heard that, but Sol’s attitude of sucking up to him was replaced with a passive demeanor.

His father had given him these bracelets and it was the only thing Sol had to remember him by, Geon-Soo must be crazy to think he would sell them to him or much less hand them over for free.

However, despite the insulting way Sol handed him the bracelet, Geon-Soo actually bent down to pick it up.

It looked like it was something he really wanted to not even mind how this would make him look.

Sol couldn’t help but narrow his eyes in suspicion when he saw that.

Before Geon-Soo could pick up his bracelet, Sol’s hand started to form hand signs at a rapid rate behind his back.

The runes faintly lit up on the bracelet as Geon-Soo’s hand reached it.

Gripping the bracelet tightly, Geon-Soo then tried to pick it up, but he was shocked that it didn’t even budge an inch.

Geon-Soo frowned and the veins on his hand bulged as he use everything he had to lift this damn bracelet. But even after a few breaths of time, he failed to do so.

Geon-Soo stopped and looked up to give Sol a vicious stare.

He had thought about releasing his Innate Dharma to boost his strength, but he happened to glimpse the silhouettes of a few white robe figures in the crowd, who had gathered due to the shockwave from before.

Geon-Soo didn’t dare release his Innate Dharma when those people were around.

"Oh, it looks like Brother Geon-Soo doesn’t want the bracelets anymore. If that’s the case then I can only take it back."

After saying that Sol reached down and took up his bracelet. He didn’t forget to indiscreetly form a hand sign to decrease its weight before he did.

With a snap Sol placed the bracelet back onto his wrist before he bowed to Geon-Soo.

"Since Brother Geon-Soo doesn’t wish to accept my friend request I can only take my leave in embarrassment."

Sol then turned and walked away with Mar-Dule following behind him.

Some distance away, Mar-Dule laughed heartily and instead of bringing up what just happened, he acted like Geon-Soo didn’t exist and went back to praising the Martial Hall.

He was really hyping it up, claiming to Sol that it was the best place in the Martial Alliance Academy for disciples to find opponents and battle to their heart’s content.

However, while they were ignoring Geon-Soo, he was more than paying attention to them.

His eyes narrowed when he heard the mention of the Martial Hall and an idea formed in his mind.
