Chapter 74: Banquet (1)

After he was done, it was time to enter the banquet hall. Of course, Arren couldn’t appear to be coming inside the palace, as that would be too conspicuous.

However, he didn’t have to be secretive either, as he didn’t have to exit a car just to make it seem he was truly coming from outside the palace either. It was only enough that he was still outside and exploring the palace before going inside. In the first place, the palace had too many nobles, and no one would watch each of them unless someone really wanted to observe him.

Arren walked through the majestic hallway of the palace; his blue hair was particularly eye-catching, and his appearance even more so. He was alone, however, and no one would think that he was pitiful for it at all.

While alone and silently walking through the hallway, Arren was in his own world, as if he wasn’t bothered by the various eyes gazing at him. Like how Rave predicted, or more like, as expected. As soon as Arren came and stood in the crowd, he was easily the center of attention.

The whispers and captivated eyes chased his figure until he entered the banquet hall. Some are surprised as they see him; some don’t know him, but gradually everyone in the hall recognized who he was. The omega son of Duke Evan, Arren Katz, the blue moon.

Over the years, he earned his famous nickname because he rarely went to official banquets. He even turned down invitations from nobles. And just like the blue moon, his appearance was truly one of spectacle, especially among the alphas. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Arren could sense some gazes lingering on him, and he was accustomed to it, so it didn’t bother him that much. His attention was completely fixed on the hall and even on the podium at the front, in the center, where the high chairs were located for Spade to sit on. There was another seat beside his on the right side, slightly lower than his, where the Mother Empress Liviera would sit.

In fact, this was his first real look at this banquet hall, which was where most royal banquets took place. For years, he avoided this place, and he was always tense whenever he was there for much longer than ten minutes. Arren never enjoyed any of the royal banquets he attended before, so he didn’t have a very good memory of them except for almost pissing his pants every time.

There were a few minutes before the banquet officially started; it usually started when the Emperor entered the hall. In any case, there were some ceremonial things that they had to do at the start, and that was all so boring that Arren didn’t concern himself with it.

"Woah, look who’s here, our dear Arren is already here." A loud and annoying voice completely ruined the moment for Arren; without looking for who it was, he already knew that it was Ramon.

He rolled his eyes; he was already seated at the table in an inconspicuous place so he wouldn’t be bothered, and yet this beta still found him. Actually, no matter where the seats were, even in the farthest corner of the banquet hall, eyes were still consciously drawn to him.

"Can you lower your voice? Can’t you see that I want to be alone?" Arren grumbled at the beta and waved his hand to shoo him off.

With what he said, Ramon instantly became dumbfounded, and his left eyelids trembled uncontrollably. Looking at the ten-seater table and yet only Arren was seated on it, it seemed what the omega said was true—he did want to be all alone.

However, just thinking about it, it was too ridiculous. After all, this was a banquet, and wanting to be alone was unrealistic; sooner or later, some nobles would join them at this table. Arren was only intimidating; that is why some nobles were afraid to approach him. However, there were still some who had the guts to do it.

And Ramon was one of those people; he might be afraid of Arren sometimes or most of the time, but they were still friends after all. They were both familiar with each other.

Arren watched as Ramon didn’t listen to him and sat on the seat beside him. He only narrowed his eyes dangerously, and the beta acted as if he couldn’t see it and made himself comfortable in the seat. However, he didn’t do anything else besides that either.

"Can’t you even understand simple sentences well?" He asked and arched his brows in the beta, and didn’t hide the disgust in his expression.

The beta only laughed and wasn’t offended at all. It could be said that he was extremely used to this kind of attitude from the omega and how Arren treated him.

Instead, he raised one of his brows and stared at Arren knowingly and even intently, so that Arren couldn’t help but furrow his brows as he scowled at the beta.

"What is it?" he asked, making a disgusted face, and continued, "Can’t you stop looking at me like that? It’s making me uncomfortable," he tried to dismiss and waved his hand in Ramon’s face.

Ramon laughed and then grinned, narrowing his eyes mischievously.

"I think there’s something different about you since the last time I saw you," he finally revealed what he was thinking of and stared without fear for his life in Arren’s face. His brows then slightly moved up and down, widening his grin. "Tell me, something extremely good happened to you, right?"

The corner of Arren’s lips perked up, and the aggressive expression on his face slightly dimmed because of this change, Ramon was almost convinced that something good really did happen.

However, Arren only snickered at him; even with his obvious good mood, he still didn’t admit it.

"What are you saying?" He refuted and then slightly leaned and whispered to the beta, "Was there something really different in my face?"

At this, Ramon could only laugh. Sometimes, Arren was like a lion, but he could be cute like a cat at times as well. He didn’t admit it outright but already gave away the answer himself.

"So something really did happen?" Ramon stopped asking and confirmed. Even if he didn’t know what that was, it was already confirmed about that something, although he was suddenly intrigued about what it was.

Was it about love life? If it really was love, that means... a lot of alphas in the capital would weep when they found out; he was already excited once this word was out.

Arren did neither deny nor confirm. As long as he didn’t say anything, this nosy beta could only think of any guesses without factual evidence about them. And if some necessary rumors spread, he knew who to suspect first.

"Just answer my question, fucker." He clenched his teeth and glared at the beta, becoming a lion from a cute cat in an instant. This was how they talked with each other in the first place.

Ramon knew that he wouldn’t want to piss off this blue-haired omega; otherwise, he was the one who would suffer in the end. Occasional teasing was still okay, as Arren was a teased himself. However, some moderation was still needed, as Ramon knew better than anyone how unpredictable Arren was and his terrifying ways.

Arren watched as Ramon seemed to shudder slightly at what he was thinking about before he nodded seriously in response to his question.
