The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 59: Amos (2)
Chapter 59: Amos (2)
Spade had already begun preparing for their hospital visit after they had finished eating. He said that they shouldn’t prolong it any longer. Arren could only agree; he also didn’t want his injury to be worse than it already was.
Then they silently slipped from the palace and went to the private appointment that Spade had already made. They didn’t need to waste time, and Arren immediately went through a lot of tests on his foot and some treatment.
He was given pain relievers and medicine, as well as instructions to rest his foot. His injury wasn’t so serious that it needed surgery, but the recovery time was still long; he still had to wait for five weeks before he could walk normally again.
And Arren could only cry. He was back to being an otaku once more. He only enjoyed his one week of being outdoors, and because of his injury, it was best to recover at home. Both his father and Spade were adamant about this decision, as if they had already agreed beforehand.
They ran into his father, who was already waiting for them at the hospital; Arren was not surprised to see his father. The Duke also stayed all throughout, and sometimes he and Spade would have a conversation at the side.
Arren didn’t bother himself with them; he couldn’t understand anything anyway.
So, after all, that was done, and they went back to the palace. He also thought he would go back to the Katz Mansion, but it looked like Spade had already asked his dad’s permission.
He didn’t have much of an objection either; he also wanted to spend more time with his alpha by this point. His whole afternoon was quite eventful, and his evening would be even longer than that.
Arren sat on the couch, his right leg resting on a cushion in front of him. The swelling was also reduced significantly from last night. freёwebnoѵel.com
"Do you want tea, Young Master Arren?" A graceful and calm voice rang as Arren raised his gaze and immediately met the eyes of the white-haired omega.
Without saying anything, he only smiled and nodded at Rave. While Rave was graciously pouring tea for him, he observed the other. Arren truly finds it astonishing how the omega could still keep calm in a situation like this.
Spade was about to interrogate him, and a little information slipping from him would make his future uncertain. Arren really admired him for that. Then again, from everyone who was here, he was the one most aware that Rave could back up confidence and calmness at this moment.
Well, he was only here to listen anyway and watched how this night unfolds anyway. His knowledge wasn’t complete, and this was an opportunity to recall what he had forgotten.
"Here, Young Master." Rave then put down the teacup in front of Arren.
"Thank you," Arren said as he sipped it, which was slightly bitter to his taste. Actually, he wasn’t really fond of tea that much. However, he could tolerate drinking it every now and then; even his father was addicted to it more than coffee.
Then they fell silent once more. Arren leaned on the couch and roamed his eyes a bit; this was the room where Rave had been in custody since last night, and the room connected to it was where Levin was.
With this kind of treatment, he already guessed that, from the beginning, Spade had already given so much attention and importance to Rave and his involvement and had yet to fully acknowledge him as a spy.
It could already be considered a kind approach and a signal to Rave from him, the Emperor. Arren was also convinced that, from the way Spade looked at Levin last night, he already knew the two’s involvement.
Being caught in the act was just a beautiful excuse that Spade took advantage of. Arren sipped the tea once more, thinking about how his lover was truly scary and cunning in that area as well.
Returning his gaze to Rave in front of him, who was also silent and fixing his attention on the teacup in front of him. Arren couldn’t read what he was thinking at all.
He wanted to talk to Rave; however, he didn’t know where to start. In the first place, they didn’t have much to talk about or the same interests at all. If he accidentally said something he shouldn’t have, Rave might become wary of him, and Spade’s plans for this night would be affected.
Every time, Arren was reminded that he really didn’t want to be alone in the same room as Rave. An extrovert and an introvert in the same room was such an absurd combination.
Fortunately, they weren’t alone for long, as Spade and Levin entered the room together. Arren could only sigh in relief; he truly liked Rave, but he was always on edge with him. Perhaps, in the future, he would try again to talk to him when they already shared the same goal.
The two approached them on the couch, and Spade immediately attended to him.
"Are you comfortable?" Spade asked him, to which Arren immediately nodded.
"I’m okay, don’t worry too much." He smiled and patted the space next to him, and Spade immediately sat beside him.
Looking at it from another perspective, it seemed they only had a double date. They didn’t appear to have a very important matter to talk about at all. It didn’t appear to be an interrogation.
For a moment, no one actually brought up the matter, and enjoyed the peaceful and deceivingly harmonious atmosphere. Arren glanced at Spade, who had only put some snacks on his plate. He seemed wasn’t eager to start the conversation.
Arren wasn’t really hungry since they only finished eating dinner a few hours ago. However, as everyone was still waiting for something, he also pretended that he didn’t know anything. He was only there to listen, anyway.
He ate the cake on his plate with a smile, and as he had expected, it only took a few minutes for the tension in the air to reach its peak. In the end, it was Rave who shattered the false peace between them.
"His Majesty can now start asking me questions," Rave spoke all of a sudden, but his tone was still calm and soft.
A small smile curved in the corner of Spade’s lips before he nonchalantly responded, "Are you sure you’re ready to answer? If not, I still have time to wait."
Arren slowly swallowed the cake in his mouth and sneakily shifted his gaze to the two, both of whom had similar yet also somewhat different expressions on their faces. Crap, it was happening! He almost didn’t want to breathe, afraid to capture their attention.
He also happened to glance over at Rave’s side, where Levin was; he was also silent, and Arren accidentally met his eyes. They exchanged glances first before fixing their attention on the two once more. It was as if they had agreed not to interrupt.
It was really important, even for Arren; aside from being excited to listen and know the information that Rave had, he was even more anxious about Rave’s cooperation and attitude. What if he decided not to trust Spade and did not reveal anything after all?
While his mind was already getting chaotic, the conversation between the two sides finally started.
Rave gently smiled and shook his head.
"Even if I don’t want to, I know that I’m the one at a disadvantage. His Majesty already knows something, so there is no use in hiding it," he said, clasping his hands and slightly lowering his head as he bit his lips.
All of a sudden, the calm and graceful omega appeared especially lonely in Arren’s eyes, as if there were a lot of burdens on his shoulders at the moment. Levin, by his side, moved closer to Rave, as if he didn’t bother with formalities in front of Spade any longer.
Arren’s brow rose, but he only observed; while it wasn’t particularly intimate, it was enough to provide support for the white-haired omega.
Spade also didn’t mind; Levin’s relationships were none of his business, and he wouldn’t meddle in his cousin’s affairs. So, even though he had already noticed it, he remained silent and only observed from the sidelines.
The alpha didn’t respond to Rave’s statement, but his silence had already indicated his agreement. While the black intel couldn’t entirely find anything big about the organization, investigating Rave or the Amos family was still within the realm of their abilities.
From the start, any clue, no matter how small, compelled Spade to delve deeper into them. That was why the moment he heard the word Amos on Ashton’s lips, he already placed importance on anything related to it.
And after finding out thoroughly about the Amos family and that there was a royal attendant named Rave Amos, Spade had already paid close attention to the omega. It was only coincidence that he noticed Levin’s involvement with Rave, and he kept his one eye closed through it all.
After a moment of silence, Rave once again spoke. And this time, Arren could finally sigh in relief. The omega chose to reveal something to them.
"My parents were not killed during the bloody year... They vanished," he began, seemingly at random.
Spade frowned, "Disappeared?"
Rave nodded and clasped his hands tightly as if trying to keep his emotions in check.
"Your Majesty, how much do you know about what happened that bloody year?"
