Chapter 55: Club Adventures (3)

"Young Master Arren?" After a few moments of silence, Rave finally spoke. His tone was still gentle, although with a hint of surprise.

"Oh, I didn’t know that you knew my name." Arren sheepishly replied again, despite the fact that he knew the other couldn’t possibly not know his name.

Rave was someone who most likely knew the whole upper nobility better than the upper nobility themselves. Someone who was investigating the downfall of his family, which was once a Marquis House, would definitely investigate the one in power first.

However, what he said didn’t elicit much expression from the omega. He only calmly smiled and nodded. Arren was convinced that the way the other could hide his emotions inside so well was really incredible; could he ask Rave to teach him?

"Young Master Arren is the most beautiful omega in the Empire. It’s only natural that I know who you are," Rave answered in a calm tone, as if what he said was nothing and couldn’t make someone flustered.

And that someone who was still trying so hard to maintain the mischievous grin on his face had long felt his ears heating up. Arren was suddenly embarrassed after being complimented by the protagonist himself. The compliment was also so cringe-worthy that he wanted to die; who even gave him that title?

For a moment, both of them seemed to forget the situation that they were in. There was still chaos in their surroundings, but they still had time to lightly talk with each other.

After a few seconds and an explosion from the second floor, they both instinctively looked in that direction. The people that were still inside and had yet to exit the club began to get messed up once more; it even intensified this time around.

Arren also became serious, although, for some reason, he wasn’t that nervous. Since he came to this place and they started preparing for this operation, he already anticipated that something like this would happen. He knew that capturing Curt would not be easy.

He returned his attention to Rave and smiled.

"We need to get out of here," he said then glanced at the still almost like a battlefield entrance; everyone’s emotions had become such a mess that it was even harder if they wanted to squeeze themselves into that crowd. Moreover, his foot was still injured.

Then he shifted his gaze back to Rave, who was now also looking at him, and he smirked.

"Say, do you think this illegal club has a backdoor too?" He squinted his eyes and smiled wider. "Help me, I’m injured," Arren said, and he didn’t know, but he thought the way that Rave had looked at him had suddenly changed, or perhaps that was just the club lighting.

Spade’s expression had never been worse than how he looked at the moment. It was to the point that some of his pheromones began to escape and seep into the air, and his inhibitor was becoming useless once more. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

The royal guards at his sides couldn’t even breathe and were all silent. With his dark expression, Spade looked at the chaotic entrance that had yet to subside, and it appeared to be getting even worse.

His amber eyes flashed, and he clenched his fist. In times like this, he was supposed to be rational and think of his next action. However, Arren was still inside, and for the first time since he became an Emperor, his emotions had taken over before his responsibility.

Nothing else was on his mind aside from checking Arren’s condition.

He cast a glance to the side, and his oppressive gaze fell on his royal guards, who were all standing with their heads bowed.

"Stabilize the situation at the entrance. If you can knock out those out-of-control alphas, you can," he said, his voice a little deeper than usual. "Continue with your operation. We can talk about everything after this is over."

Spade returned his gaze to the entrance of the club and frowned. Then he began his steps: "Levin, you come with me." He said that before continuing. He didn’t have much time to give direct orders, and he didn’t need to.

His royal guards were all such elites that if they had to be spoon-fed by the emperor, they might as well resign. He didn’t plan to squeeze himself in to allow him to enter the club. For sure, this kind of establishment had a backdoor that they could use.

Everyone’s fear had gotten to their heads, and only survival was in their minds because they failed to be rational. And they weren’t to be blamed; in a dangerous situation, Spade could understand that they only wanted to escape. That was a survival instinct engraved in all human beings.

Fortunately, even though he was also extremely worried, emotions didn’t completely take over his mind. As they were on the way to another door that they could use to go inside, an explosion sounded inside the club.

Spade’s pace immediately increased; he needed to see Arren and make sure that he was fine before he went crazy. He couldn’t make out his surroundings at this point, and he only wanted to go inside quickly.

A few moments later, as they were already at the far back of the club, Spade only remembered that he didn’t know exactly where the back door was, and this was the reason he brought Levin with him.

"Where is it?" he asked, becoming agitated with each passing second. He stopped and looked at Levin and said, "Lead the way."

His jaw tightened, suppressing his emotions within. Getting mad at this moment wouldn’t help him find Arren; he needed to calm down and take action.

Levin didn’t say anything and only followed him; they were both silent throughout. It appeared that it was also the first time that the other alpha had seen Spade this close to getting out of control, and he also didn’t know how to act, so Levin only stayed silent.

With Levin’s lead, they went closer to the back door of the club, and as they finally reached the entrance, Someone was there, and they were exiting the club.

It was two people; as the other raised his head, Spade and the other’s eyes met. It seemed that all the emotions that Spade was suppressing finally came out, and he only found himself shortening the distance between them and engulfing the omega in his tight embrace.

Spade didn’t even notice who was with Arren, and the omega was the only one he could see. He hugged Arren as if the other was about to disappear, and he smelled the scent of the omega to calm his raging emotions and worry.

"Spade, you—" Arren spoke, but he couldn’t finish it as he seemed to realize the alpha’s feelings as well, and he also became emotional and buried his face in Spade’s chest, letting the alpha hug him.

Both of them seemed to only have each other in their world for a few moments before they finally calmed down and slightly withdrew from their embrace.

Arren only remembered that the situation was still dangerous; he lifted his head and met Spade’s eyes. The alpha’s arms were still tightly locked around his waist, as if this time there was no way he could let go easily. Arren didn’t have any objections either.

"Are you okay?" Spade asked and carefully looked at him.

Arren shook his head and said, "My foot hurts, seems it’s swollen." He didn’t say it to be coquettish toward his boyfriend, but the pain in his foot had already become unbearable. It was now throbbing painfully.

Spade immediately became concerned and withdrew from their embrace, and he seemed to want to check Arren’s foot when he finally noticed who was the one with Arren.

Their eyes met, and the other omega instantly lowered his head and saluted.

"Your Majesty," Rave saluted.

Spade frowned and stared at the omega, still graceful even with all the chaos.

"Ah, Rave is the one who helped me. If not for him, I’m still inside." Arren interjected immediately; he knew that Spade was extremely suspicious of Rave, but this wasn’t the time for that.

What he said was the truth, anyway. Walking by himself in his foot’s condition was impossible at this point, or it would swell even more.

It appeared what he said had an effect, although Spade still had a look of scrutiny when looking at Rave and then looked at Levin from the side as his brows rose.

Arren also furrowed his brows and became curious; he only realized that Levin was here and beside Rave too! Well, what would we have here? The Protagonist and the Male lead appeared in one scenario that never happened in the novel.

Well, they weren’t like that anymore. But looking at the two being together, which Arren had only read about before, was still a little exciting. He was also rooted in their relationship, so he was very interested in their status. Although no one probably knew what he was thinking at the moment in this small confrontation.

"Why are you here?" Spade asked, then glanced at Levin before shifting back to Rave. "You’re smart. I know you’re already aware that you’re on the investigation list. Yet, coming here at this time, makes me evaluate your involvement even more," he continued.

Arren bit his lips and watched. He wanted to interrupt again, but he also respected Spade’s position and authority in front of others, especially his subordinates.

Also, Spade’s suspicions had a basis and didn’t come out of nowhere. Arren was also curious about what Rave was doing in this place.

However, before Rave could respond, unexpectedly, it was Levin who spoke first.

"I’m the one who informed him. I’m sorry. I... will accept the punishment." Levin admitted, lowering his head. And for the first time, Arren saw a change in Rave’s always calm expression as he looked at Levin.

Oh... it seemed this night was getting more interesting. Arren’s inner reader heart had awoken.
