The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 219: Missing (1)
Chapter 219: Missing (1)
Spade waited for Levin’s response to what he said, observing the alpha’s expression. Levin’s lips quivered; he averted his eyes and rubbed the corner of his eyes, and then gradually let out a heavy breath before returning his gaze to Spade.
Levin didn’t say anything, and the same was true for Spade. But their eyes alone carried all they wanted to say for each other, and it was more than enough.
A few minutes of silence passed by; the atmosphere between them might not have completely eased up, but a heavy stone was still lifted off their shoulders. Knowing that their best confidant would still be by their side was a good result of their conversation, despite the current situation not being resolved.
"About Aunt," Spade began again, about to inform Levin of what had been on his mind, making Levin freeze but listen to him. "I’ll do what Father wished; I’ll save her. But, that doesn’t mean she won’t be reliable for any punishments for what she did."
Spade had already thought of it; he admitted that when it came to his aunt, he was as weak as Levin. However, she wouldn’t be exempt just because of it. This route was harder; he also needed to look after his omega father.
He rubbed his temple, already throbbing because of these problems. Spade didn’t want to hide what he truly felt about this; as he said, he treated Levin as family, and this was a mess that they both needed to get through.
Levin weakly leaned on the seat and said, "I know, and I won’t object to it."
Observing his cousin, Spade chose to end this conversation for now.
"We can continue later. Levin, you need to sleep and rest."
The alpha was already exhausted, and they couldn’t possibly have a decent talk about what they needed to do. In his plans, the alpha had a massive role and was probably the hardest of all. It didn’t even have the scale of the mission itself, but that... He would be going against his parents, and that was something not many people could do.
Spade wanted Levin to be in the right state when they discussed their plans for the following days. He might not be at his best, but at least he could think with a clearer mind.
Levin was about to refuse when he stopped and closed his mouth. He knew that what Spade said was the truth. He was tired, and he didn’t even have a wink of sleep the entire night. Despite his dominant alpha physique, what he encountered and found out for the past twenty-four hours was enough for ordinary people to pass out in fatigue.
Both concluded the conversation for now. The lingering awkwardness and guilt that grew within Levin persisted, but they were now controlled by him. Spade knew these were all inevitable, and he had no intention to console the alpha with mere words; Levin was the one who needed to confront himself about them.
When they stood at the doorsteps, Spade silently patted Levin’s shoulders and squeezed them gently. He was never expressive with words; this could be attributed to his years of being an Emperor or just his personality influenced by those around him throughout his years of being the monarch.
Levin looked at him and nodded. And soon, they both walk in a different direction, with Levin going to sleep in one of the rooms in the palace while Spade was on his way to where Arren was.
As expected, something would still change despite Levin’s choosing to stay by his side. And this wouldn’t stop on his relationship with him alone, but with all of the comrades Levin had once this truth was revealed in their ranks.
Spade could only sigh and try his best to be neutral as long as their plans went smoothly.
While Spade was on his way to the room where Arren usually stayed in the palace to pass his time, Arren and Rave also finished talking about Levin.
Since Rave didn’t mention him again after their moment of silence, Arren also kept his mouth shut about the heavy topic. To this day, it was obvious that the omega had yet to acknowledge any feelings he had for Levin, if not what he truly felt for the alpha, and Arren wasn’t there to forcefully make him realize it.
He had so many problems himself to try and be a guide for others’ love lives.
"Did you meet Mr.Ivo?" Arren asked. They started to talk again while playing a MOBA game on their phones; it was a good distraction for their minds.
While recalling for the base, Rave’s eyes focused on his phone as he weakly answered, "I haven’t."
Mr. Ivo, Rave’s omega father, wasn’t staying in the palace as his identity was extremely sensitive. His role in the whole operation was also crucial in that Spade protected him, but in a way, it was also unofficial custody as well.
Until this day, since Spade brought along Ivo, Rave had yet to hear anything from his omega father. While this made him down, he wasn’t really worried for his well-being; being under the protection of the black Intel was safer for his father than wandering around outside with the organization’s pursuits at his trail.
"Do you want me to help talk to Spade?" Arren spoke carelessly, dodging the skills of the enemies as they were ganked in the mid-lane.
He only played casually and was not really into the game. Barely surviving the 4v1, the two recalled again to the base after killing two with a tenth of their health left.
Rave shook his head. "There’s no need. I know that this time is crucial." After his conversation with his subordinates, he knew that the time had really come for the impending chaos to erupt.
Although, knowing the details was not within their ability, it was already impressive enough to have the shift of the air in the capital, but they were powerless to know beyond that.
Arren was also only saying that he knew Rave would refuse. He knew that Spade indulged him and couldn’t resist him, but he only planned to use this knowledge to act spoiled and in their bed; that was all.
Pausing and focusing on the team fight, both fell silent.
"What will you do from tomorrow onwards?" Arren suddenly spoke; his screen turned gray as he was killed in the game. Rave still hung on for a few seconds until he and his opponent were both killed by each other.
It was a subtle hint that something would happen in the coming days, confirming the omega’s conjectures. Arren didn’t know much since he never asked, not because he wasn’t interested, but even if he knew Spade’s plans, he couldn’t help anyway, so it wasn’t really any use if he knew all the details or not.
What he was sure of was that he would be in the palace at that time. It was quite frustrating, as he really wanted to help or be reliable for once, but he knew his strengths and what his worth was for both sides. It was better to be away from the front lines and stay in a safe place.
Rave lifted his head, looked at him, and then pondered before responding. "I’ll stay in the palace." This was a matter he couldn’t involve himself in, even if he wanted to.
Unless he was given a mission, Rave would still stay beside Arren. Since the start, he has been not only Arren’s personal attendant but also the one who guards him at all times. It was the main reason Spade let him stay by Arren’s side at first, but now that Arren himself was comfortable with Rave, now his friend.
Arren was already revived in the game, but he only stared at Rave, and the corner of his lips curled up. "Me too," he laughed, and they both continued playing until they defeated their enemies.
They finished another two games and were already in the lobby for another round when the door to the room opened. Their heads instinctively lifted up as they looked in the direction of the door.
Standing at the door was an imposing alpha who, even in his casual clothes, was still intimidatingly eye-catching and drew everyone’s attention to him. His figure made anyone gape in admiration and desire; he was none other than Spade, his hot lover.
Instantly, Arren didn’t care anymore about the game and ignored it as he locked his phone and stood where he stood, even forgetting that Rave was also in the room beside him and was already used to his behavior.
"Spade~" Arren’s tone became coquettish at once as he called for the alpha’s name, already approaching the alpha, who couldn’t help but smile at his antics and step closer to him.
Once they were already in front of each other, Arren buried himself in the alpha’s chest, looking extremely soft, which made Spade’s heart itch in more ways than one.
His gaze happened to land on Rave, and the omega bowed to him as a respectful salute before casually paying attention to the phone again. In any case, he wasn’t dismissed yet, and the two very affectionate couples would forget his presence soon enough.
Arren, in fact, had already forgotten him.
Spade only glanced at the white-haired omega before his focus was completely fixed on the omega in his arms.
