Chapter 220: Missing (2)

After embracing the alpha tightly as though it had been a long time since he last saw him and not only a few hours, he slightly withdrew while looking up at Spade.

"Done?" he inquired in a hushed tone. Arren was aware that the cousins would be talking about something heavy, and by the looks of it, things seemed to turn out smoothly, at least not in the worst-case scenario considering Spade’s expression.

Spade brushed his hair and caressed his back gently as he nodded and answered ambiguously. "He’s with us."

Arren understood it instantly, and he sighed in relief. He didn’t want Levin to be their enemy, and he knew Spade was the most unreconciled about that outcome.

While flirting with Spade was always part of his daily life, he wasn’t that insensitive yet, especially for someone who had an unclear love life. Arren chose to be disciplined for once and recalled that Rave was still in the room, so he didn’t go all out.

"How about lunch?" he smiled and offered. Although it was still early for lunch. The two didn’t refuse, or Rave was so forced by Arren’s heated gaze that he accepted it in the end.

Arren chose to eat inside the room, and Spade, of course, agreed and let the food be served in the room. They were already seated, food was on the table, and they began to eat.

Rave was slightly awkward since he was eating with the Emperor in his royal attendant uniform. In some way, it indeed appeared appropriate when someone happened to observe it from the other’s perspective, but Arren didn’t mind it.

Spade was the same; as long as Arren was happy, he didn’t care either. Rave was the only one who was a bit awkward at first but gradually focused on the food.

He gave Rave a glance, and seeing he was already savoring the dishes, Arren also began to gobble up the food. However, he wasn’t that hungry, and he only ate normally.

While Spade gave him food every once in a while as he ate. Overall, that early lunch passed silently, with only the sounds of plates, utensils, and occasionally chewing sounds reverberating in the room.

Once they were finished, Spade was the first to speak, wiping his mouth with a white cloth. He glanced at Rave and then at Arren, who kept his mouth shut while eating some desserts.

When the omega sensed his age, Arren met his gaze for a moment and even winked before returning his attention to the dessert. A trace of amusement washed over him; his omega never paid attention to him when he was eating.

He slightly shook his head with a smile and shifted again to Rave. The white-haired omega was also done eating and noticed his gaze. Spade’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Rave.

Spade was grateful for him because he could be Arren’s friend and the one who was there for his omega, but at the same time, he had reservations because of his identity. At first, it was the reason he was a bit hesitant in his presence by Arren’s side.

Rave Amos was still closely linked to the organization with his parents, and Arren’s safety would always be in danger as long as the organization was still alive.

"It’s thanks to Ivo that our operation will begin in the coming days, he began, saying this would also now make Rave involved. Since the beginning, Rave Amos has been destined to get involved in this war.

Both sides had their goals, and as Spade promised, he would protect them and help them save the then-Marquis Amos, who was said to be imprisoned in the organization’s base by the leader.

Arren’s hand, holding that spoon, was about to scoop another. He stopped for a second before he continued eating. He only fell silent, letting Spade and Rave discuss something, but his ears were vigorously active, listening to their conversation.

Rave flinched, raised his head, and looked at Spade but didn’t respond.

Spade wasn’t hoping for any response and only continued. His voice was calm but carried the imposing air of a monarch.

"In the coming days, you will also be cooperating with the Black Intel and meeting your father along the way. For now, you’re on standby and staying here in the palace, and you need to wait for your father to brief you on what task has been assigned to you."

There wasn’t really any task yet for Rave; Spade was only focusing their personnel on the upcoming raid and capturing the dominions to capture the noble spies. What plans were made that would have to wait to be polished after the mission was accomplished.

One thing was for sure: it would only circulate about the Marquis, which was one of the important missions. Finding the Marquis was almost equal to finding the base of the organization, and Ivo was someone who was most fitted for the job.

Rave’s eyes widened slightly, and his hands clenched for the emotion that was about to erupt again deep inside of him at the mere mention of his parents.

Taking a deep breath, he nodded and responded respectfully. "Yes, Your Majesty."

Their lunch ended with that. Arren didn’t insist on Rave staying, as he knew it was indeed quite uncomfortable to be in the presence of Spade, especially in the palace, and let him leave. Of course, he wouldn’t admit that it was only because he really wanted some alone time with Spade.

When they were finally alone in the room, Arren became bold at once and sat in Spade’s lap, who wrapped his arms around him, seemingly unsurprised by this action of his.

Arren traced Spade’s jaw, and a seductive smirk curled on his lips. He spoke in a captivating whisper, "Now, you’re mine all day, Your Majesty."

Spade chuckled, pulled Arren closer, and bit Arren’s earlobe. "And you’re mine as well, my omega."

At this point, Arren’s laughter overwhelmed the room, becoming like a whisper in Spade’s ears.

As they planned, they spent the entire day with each other. Even though they couldn’t date outside yet like a normal couple, Arren already treated it as a date.

Arren also influenced Spade by playing his favorite MOBA game with him. Sitting in Spade’s lap, the alpha’s chin also rested on his right shoulder as they comfortably played the game.

He was even more energetic this time around because he could flirt in the game like those clingy couples he hated to be teamed up with before. Arren swore to disgust all of his teammates with Spade as revenge for all the times that the couples disgusted him inside the game.

Donning couple skins, both played by themselves, they spread love everywhere, ignoring the blood bath of the bitter souls of their teammates and opponents.

Arren finally felt what it was like to play games with his lover, so it wasn’t bad at all. They played for a few hours until Arren got bored and was already satisfied with showing off his love for the game, enjoying the tears of their teammates and enemies.

The two roamed in the palace, pressed together, and stayed in the garden for the whole time after that. Until it was late afternoon and the sun was about to set.

"Spade," Arren called, comfortingly leaning into the alpha’s chest.

"Hmm?" Spade hummed, wrapping his arms around Arren from behind.

Arren turned and looked at him. His eyes shone through the light of the setting sun, warming Spade’s heart.

"Next time, I want to have a date with you." Arren smiled and spoke of his plans. "Let’s create more memories together, Spade," He sincerely added.

With the impending chaos, Arren was only here to support his alpha, hoping for everything to end in their favor; no, he believed it would be their victory.

Spade was taken aback for a second, and gradually he smiled.

"I want that too... so much."

And that promise was sealed with a kiss.

Although it would be a while before they could accomplish this since the operation would start the next morning, given the situation, it would only be a while before the chaos truly reached the capital as they would start outside and in the dominions.

Spade was the monarch, and being on the frontlines was something all of the subordinates under him would object to. He was there to coordinate the groups from there.

Standing by his side were Levin and Arren, inside the study after leaving the conference room. The operation had already started earlier, after the sun had set, and everyone had positioned themselves all over the dominions of the empire.

And even the forces on standby in the capital were getting ready to barricade the place once Team 1 was almost finished.

The room had a tense atmosphere in the air; it actually made sense, as an operation was going on at the moment far away from the capital. However, it was even more intense this time; Levin, even more so, was having a hard time suppressing himself and stormed out to check on his mother.

One of the operations of the night was about the Ford Mansion; some people had already encircled it, and their mission was to secure Princess Coreen. It was one of the most dangerous missions as the organization leader could plant forces inside, so they needed to be cautious.

However, once they entered, it was like hell.

Servant corpses lingered around. Princess Coreen and her husband were now nowhere to be found.
