The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 209: Ultimatum (4)
Chapter 209: Ultimatum (4)
Since he was truly hungry, Arren didn’t waste any of his time arguing with Levin and followed the chef as though nothing had happened. He looked straight ahead and occasionally gave a glimpse at the kitchen staff that were busy leaving the kitchen.
There were also dining rooms just adjacent to the kitchen, and the biggest one held the most elegant dining hall, where Spade commonly ate his meals.
And as Arren entered the hall, he immediately observed the place. He had never visited the kitchen before, and he was often eating in the room while the food was being delivered or eating with Spade and Empress Liviera in the dining room not far from their room.
It was really so big that it would already be a small banquet hall, but it only had a lone long table at the center; it seemed a bit lonely considering the space surrounding it. It paled in comparison to the simple dining room they often had breakfast in or in the Katz Mansion. Despite the elegance it harbored, it didn’t appear comfortable for Arren.
However, he only shrugged his shoulders and proceeded in his steps until the table was before him and sat in one of the side seats. Arren, when he was hungry, never cared where he ate anyway.
Levin also followed him and sat in the seat that was in front of him as they stared at each other while waiting for the food to be served at the table.
"Do you want to look at my face so much, Young Master Arren?" Levin shattered the silence and joked, leaning on his seat with a smirk on his lips. Although it wasn’t the same as his careless grin before, it was quite an improvement from his gloomy mood earlier.
Arren might become happy because of this if not for what he said. He arched his brow and sneered, "What is good to see in your face?"
Levin chuckled; his expression smoothed considerably. "But you kept staring at my face." The alpha brought up the obvious.
Of course, Arren wouldn’t admit that he was observing Levin’s expression. Their relationship was such that even if the alpha could sense the real reason why Arren kept staring at him, he would still joke about it as Arren was antagonistic toward him.
His expression soured and he squinted his eyes. "You’re the only one here with me, or do you want me to look at the ceiling instead?"
This time, Levin finally laughed out loud, and for a moment, the same alpha who was also the person tasked with protecting him returned, easily easing the atmosphere between them.
"It’s fine, I’m more handsome than the ceiling," Levin boasted, which Arren only sneered at but didn’t refute. What could he say if it was the truth? ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Fortunately, the food that Arren had been waiting for finally arrived. In this situation, food was much more important for him than Levin. Although, he still managed to offer the food to the alpha in passing before focusing himself on his breakfast slash lunch.
As expected, the food in the palace was always suited to his taste. Since he was really hungry, he never paid attention to LEvin while he was eating, as he finished his meal in only almost half an hour.
With one gulp of the juice and releasing a burp, Arren’s hunger was satisfied. He lifted his head, only to find out that Levin was already looking at him with a dumbfounded expression. He glanced at the alpha’s plate, and he still had some on it. His hands momentarily stopped as though he were genuinely horrified by what he saw.
Arren was reminded that this was the first time that they shared a meal, or the alpha saw him practically gobbling his food. There were other times that he was not fast at eating his food, but even if he was with Spade, he never hid his big appetite.
He was never ashamed of it; why should he be? So, he never cared what the alpha was thinking of him right now in his mind, and he only smiled nonchalantly.
"Never seen someone eat?" He sarcastically inquired, his smile curling into a devilish smirk. One that even Levin was intimidated by; his eyes shone with malice. "You want to say something?"
Levin gulped and shook his head slowly, to which Arren smiled satisfactorily.
"That’s good." He nodded his head; the alpha still valued his life.
He only watched Levin eat, but it only lasted for a few minutes before he was finished. The alpha was already conscious of his gaze and that he couldn’t eat anymore.
Despite already being done eating, they didn’t leave and remained in their position. Arren, who now had his hunger alleviated, could already think normally; at least he wouldn’t get lost in the conversation that much.
Although the atmosphere between them was still stable and not as gloomy as when they first met earlier, it was gradually shifting. Arren knew that even if he wanted to act like nothing was wrong, both knew it was practically impossible.
Admit it or not, shit was about to go down. Arren muttered to himself.
Working hard to pretend things were still fine would only make them a tad more obvious than they already were. Arren knew the truth about Princess Coreen, and he was already complicated inside for Levin. What was more with Levin, who had this truth waiting for him aside from always asking himself what was wrong? It might be harder, truly.
"It’s been a while since the last time I saw you," Arren said, his voice calm and low, almost like a whisper.
In fact, he was hesitant to open a topic about it, and perhaps he could go back to their room after eating. However, he looked at Levin, someone he had also grown used to, instead of only seeing him as the male lead of a novel.
To everyone, to Spade, Levin, Rave, and himself, he was aware of how this situation was making it difficult for everyone involved. It was truly a tragedy.
Levin who seemed to anticipate it, still had a stunned expression that flashed across his eyes but was quickly concealed by him. And yet his smile now was a bit forced.
"I’m so busy, I have so many missions," he said with a chuckle, then paused, lowering his gaze and fidgeting with his hand that was resting on the table, and continued in a tone that was almost incomprehensible to Arren because of how low it was. "So busy that I can’t be by His Majesty’s side anymore."
Arren fell silent, bit his lips, and swallowed the words inside his throat. His lips trembled, and he took a deep breath.
"Levin," he called the alpha’s name, and Levin lifted his head to meet his eyes, "For you... how loyal are you to Spade?" he inquired, ignoring the intention to swallow back his words and asking this in a determined voice, thick and without the same sweetness of his voice.
Levin’s eyes widened, not expecting the question before a pained expression flickered in his eyes. And yet he didn’t respond for a few seconds.

It was already lunchtime, and the assembly was halted for a while for the lunch break, and all the nobles and officials present had a lengthy meal almost on par with a banquet while Spade ate alone.
The monthly assembly was like a bigger meeting, scoping in more departments and issues, and attended not only by the nobles but also by the head officials of various departments in the empire.
This time it was more bustling since almost everyone here could sense the storm brewing in the capital, and the organization was the main topic. Spade still acted as per usual, not averting the topic or delving into it. He kept mum about most things while revealing something else as well.
What he didn’t want was to alert the noble spies that were in the capital, as the team was already getting ready to position themselves in various domains in the empire. The majority of their targets were also present, Spade didn’t want them to smell anything, which was the main purpose of not canceling this assembly meeting.
Spade wiped his mouth and asked softly, "Is Arren already awake?" He didn’t want to leave the omega, but he needed to attend the assembly. However, he also continued to ask about what was happening on Arren’s side, but he was much more assured that his omega was in the palace.
Serrien nodded and responded, "The chef already said Young Master visited the kitchen and ate there."
He nodded, although he was confused why Arren still visited the kitchen when his food could just be delivered to the room. He only passed it as the omega might be bored there and looked around.
As he glanced at Serried, Spade noticed that his secretary still had something he wanted to say. He motioned for him to continue.
"Your Majesty, Young Master, is with... Chief Levin," Serrien informed him, in a low tone, as he didn’t know how Spade would react.
However, Spade didn’t react excessively and merely nodded calmly. "Mm, so he’s back in the palace." He now became even more reassured as Arren was with Levin. Like he often said, Levin was one of the people he trusted the most, and even for the last time, Spade would never doubt it.
This time, Serrien couldn’t help but ask the question that had been lingering in his mind.
"Your Majesty..." he called before he took a deep breath, his tone that of a friend, something he rarely used after Spade ascended the throne. "What will you do with Levin?" Serrien waited with held breath for Spade’s verdict to his friend, their friend.
Spade stared at Serrien, not reprimanding him for disrespect but instead answering in a tone that was friendly and equal, "I’ll give him an ultimatum."
