Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Alexis was as quick as she could be with it, but by now, the person Keelion Fane was already drenched, drops of water dripping from his face onto his wet shirt.

He flickered his eyes, brushing off the water on his face with his palm and glancing down at his wet shirt. He looked at her and she gulped, very sure this was a bad situation.

"Dammit, kid, today is a whole kind of disaster."

She didn’t disagree with that, peering over at the staff who were watching her with a horrified look on their faces. To them, she was dead meat. Accident or not, it didn’t matter, Keelion was going to have her messed up for what she just did.

Her fingers immediately let go of the hose and she proceeded to bow and apologize, but the man grasped her by her thin bicep, storming off to make his way to the main mansion.

"I’m really sorry, it was an accident."

She tried apologizing, but he wouldn’t listen, pulling her along with him into the building, up the stairs, and towards his master bedroom.

He pushed the door open, shoved her inside, and shut the door behind them. "Stand over there," he ordered, beginning to pop open the buttons of his shirt.

Alexis fidgeted nervously with her fingers, biting her bottom lip in what seemed like fear.

’Reia, do you think he’s really pissed off?’

"What does it look like? But he won’t hurt you."

’How would you know that? Did you see the look on their faces?’

There was no other response from Sereia, who’d suddenly vanished, nowhere to be seen anymore.

Keelion slipped out of the drenched shirt and tossed it to the floor.

Alexis parted her lips to speak, since the silence was too deafening, but then the words stayed stuck in her throat, as well as her eyes that stayed fixated on him.

He shifted, running his fingers through his wet hair.

His shoulders were perfect postures, broad and with just the right muscles.

She squinted her eyes at him. Did he have to be so attractive? Even it was distracting her despite how serious the situation was.

She didn’t think she would ever come across anyone who would look as perfect and flawless as he looked. Okay, maybe the tattoos that littered his entire upper body to his neck and arms were one thing. But they looked so nice... Very nice that the space at the very center of his chest drew her attention.

Why is it empty?

Smoldering blue eyes landed on her.

"What are you saying?" Keelion questioned slowly.

She averted her gaze. ’Sereia, can he hear me?’

"What do you think?"

’I think he can. Since when?’

The man was right in front of her in merely the blink of an eye, the breeze from the force of his movement causing her to flutter her lashes. He gripped her chin and forced her to look at him.

"You’re speaking out loud, so yes, I can hear you!"

"Oh." She blinked at him.

His right eye twitched. "Do you feel alright?" he asked with a frown, letting go of her and turning his back on her.

"I do," Alexis responded.

"Your heat?"

"It’s over."

"Good." His tone held some tinge of concern, though she believed she might have perceived it wrong, but then he asked, "Why were you barefoot?"

"My shoes hurt a little bit standing all day. And I was doing some heavy lifting, so I had to take them off."

A muscle in Keelion’s jaw ticked as he spun around to stare her down.

"Let me see your feet."

She responded, lifting her leg as high as she could, trying to show the bottom of her feet to him.

"Use the first aid box to treat yourself."

She put her feet down but didn’t move from her spot, instead she said to him. "I don’t...really know how to use the first aid box. I don’t think we ever had one at home."

Surprisingly long lashes fluttered at her. "What did you do your entire life? Did you never once play around or step out, anything at all?"

"No." She shook her head at him. "I don’t have friends. Never had one. I wasn’t allowed to go outside."

"Why?"

"My father wouldn’t allow it. I think everything used to be fine, until I turned sixteen. I can’t exactly remember, but he shut me in after because... I couldn’t manifest or shift. I was nothing, and he was afraid people would find out. It was best to keep me hidden, so I was always in my room."

"No wonder you’re so weak, despite being such a glutton. He couldn’t even feed you properly."

"I like food," she mumbled.

"And I know that."

"But if you must know, though, I am good at two things," she added.

Keelion arched a brow at her. "Which are?" freёnovelkiss.com

"I’m a great artist, I can draw and paint. And I’m also very good at riding a bicycle."

His expression softened at the seriousness in her tone, an amusement he couldn’t exactly hide emerging on his face.

"Kid, you’re really embarrassing us."

Alexis frowned at her wolf’s sudden comment, confused. What about what she just said was embarrassing?

Keelion shoved his hands into the pocket of his slacks and stepped over to tower above her. "While being a great artist is a talent, butterfly, riding a bicycle isn’t."

He gripped her arm with a gentle hold and dragged her along with him into the bathroom. He shut the door behind them and nodded to the toilet.

"Sit down on it."

Alexis glanced at it first before moving over to carefully sit down. She watched him walk to the massive cabinet built in nothing but expensive glass. He took out the first aid box and walked over to her.

She reached out her hand, assuming he was going to hand it over to her, but the man shot her a sudden glare, keeping the box aside to squat down, almost on his knees.

"Give me your feet."
