Chapter 89: Never Forgive Him!

Tina recalls never seeing Aurora engaged in physical training again.

"I can’t forget that, but I’m too lazy to train. However, being married to Alex, I’m starting to train in his private gym." This was the only convincing answer she had.

Tina slightly nodded, suddenly understanding why Aurora loves to spend so much time at the gym.

"And those gangsters are actually weaklings! They may have huge bodies, but they lack power and can’t fight," Aurora added to convince her. "I’m so lucky!"

Aurora felt relieved when Tina stopped asking her about those. However, her following words stressed her again.

"Ma’am, you must be on cloud nine now that your husband is rushing over just to be with you. Right!?"

Aurora tries to steer the conversation away from her relationship with Alex and instead mentions what happened to Neil. As per her plan, she manages to make Tina stop teasing her about Alex.

Tina’s expression gradually soured, and anger gleamed in her eyes.

"I just spoke with Josh; he told me that Neil is at the police station," Tina’s hands clenched in frustration.

Taking another deep breath, Tina continued, "I can’t help but feel so angry! How could he betray your father like that? What was he thinking when he stupidly followed your uncle’s request?"

Aurora allowed Tina to voice her frustration for a moment before she finally replied, "Aunty, I’m curious as well. After what my parents did for him, they helped and treated him like their own family, but Neil repaid them with his betrayal."

"I know, right? He is so wicked! He even tried to get me to visit him immediately after I arrived." Tina clenched her hand tightly. "I hope he gets a severe punishment!"

Seeing Tina’s face turn red, Aurora just laughed to herself. She knew Neil wouldn’t face severe punishment since he was merely an accomplice.

Moreover, if Neil’s claims were valid, he would have been forced into it because his family was held hostage, which could lead to a lighter sentence.

Aurora frowned suspiciously. "Oh right, Aunty... is it true that Neil has parents?" she asked.

Tina let out another deep sigh, releasing the weight of her worries that had been resting heavily on her chest all this time.

"I just found out about it too. A few weeks ago, Neil told me he finally found his parents. I don’t know the details or which city they live in, but he does have parents," Tina explained.

"Oh, that explains why I didn’t know..." Aurora murmured, gently brushing aside her doubts about Neil. If that’s true, then she really can’t hold it against him.

"He kept it from most people. I’m puzzled about how your second uncle knows about them?" Tina raised her eyebrow, staring at Aurora.

Once more, Aurora found herself shaking her head. She felt puzzled, and deep down, she knew she didn’t want to find out more. It wasn’t her issue that she had to be concerned about.

She was drawn into the situation because she sympathized with Aurora Spencer and her struggles with such a greedy family.

"I won’t waste my time figuring it out, Aunty. Just the thought of Uncle Neil gives me a headache. Let’s forget about him. Well, for now."

Tina nodded vigorously in agreement with Aurora.

"Yes, yes, let’s forget about that traitor. And I hope you won’t forgive him, even if he kneels before you to beg your mercy. You must remember that man nearly took your life!"

"Hmm, I will remember that," Aurora said weakly. She had no ties to Neil. It would be easier to ignore him if he came kneeling before her one day.

But didn’t Tina have a relationship with that man? They always seemed to be flirting with each other.

Observing Tina quietly, Aurora saw the heartbreak in her gaze after Neil’s betrayal. It was clear why Tina despised Neil.

Aurora and Tina continued their conversation about the Spencer family and their plans for tomorrow for a bit longer.

While talking with Tina, Aurora munches on her not-so-tasty hospital meal.

Right after she finishes her dinner, she starts to feel a little sleepy.

"Aunty, I’m feeling a little sleepy. Why don’t you have your dinner as well? You need to head back to your room..." she said, covering her mouth with her palm as she yawned.

"Alright, I won’t disturb you. Rest well and have a lovely night with your husband," Tina giggled, ignoring Aurora’s glare. She rushed to the door and was shocked when it opened; she almost bumped into Alex’s sturdy chest.

"M-Master..." Tina said in surprise. She immediately blushed when she looked at her gorgeous Master.

Realizing she stood in his way, Tina stepped back to allow him to enter the room.

"Thanks," Alex replied, walking further in to reach Aurora.

Aurora entirely missed Tina’s cheerful wave as she closed the bedroom door behind her.

Even though Aurora knew that Alex would be sleeping in the same room as her, she couldn’t help but feel nervous when she saw him standing by the bed.

She noticed he no longer wore his earlier clothes; he was now in the cozy black sweatshirt.

"Do you want me to order food for you?" Alex asked, glancing at the unfinished tray on one of the tables in the corner.

Aurora felt somewhat puzzled. Gazing into his calm and gentle eyes, she replied with a smile, "No, thank you, Alex. I’ve finished my dinner," she declined softly.

She realized that this man was merely engaging in small talk with her. He did not honestly care about her.

"Are you serious? I saw you didn’t finish your dinner," he said, pointing at the tray in the corner.

Aurora couldn’t help but smile as she listened to him speak gently. His newfound attention caught her off guard momentarily, leaving her puzzled.

Still, she gently set aside her confusion, reminding herself to remain grounded and not get too carried away by his gentleness.

"The hospital food wasn’t quite to my taste, and those fruits have filled me up a bit." She stared back at him before continuing her words, "How about you? I’m sure you’ve had dinner too, right?" she asked, trying to act politely.

"I don’t eat hospital food. Also, I’m on a diet. One meal a day," he replied before walking over to the sofa and sitting down, ignoring her.

Aurora could only laugh inwardly when she heard Alex’s words. This was the first time she had learned that he was on a diet.

Many things had changed for Alex ever since her sudden and tragic departure. He started smoking again and began to drink alcohol more frequently. And now, all of a sudden, he was on a diet.

A sorrow stirred within her as she thought about how this man might still carry the weight of blame for her accident.

’Is he still visiting my grave?’ she wondered, sighing deeply.

...

Shortly after, Aurora feels the need to use the bathroom. Just as she is about to step onto the floor, Alex rushes to her side, assisting her without uttering a word.

As she feels his warm hand gently holding hers, that familiar flutter in her heart arises, leaving her bewildered yet curious about this emotion.
