Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 72: What Do You Want?
Chapter 72: What Do You Want?
Aurora was about to lie on her bed when a sudden knock on the door startled her.
In a hurry, she sat silently on the edge of the bed, staring at the door.
’What does he want? Why did he come to my room at this hour?’ She glanced at the digital watch on the bedside table, feeling anxious.
"Aurora, are you asleep?" Alex’s voice pulled her out of her daze.
After ensuring her nightgown revealed little skin, she stood and walked to the door.
"Not yet," she softly replied as she reluctantly opened the door.
However, upon seeing him standing in nothing but his silk night robe, she swallowed silently.
Aurora quickly averted her gaze from his half-open robe. His broad chest was displayed proudly as if inviting her to look. Instantly, she felt a heat beneath her skin.
"Alex, what’s wrong? Why are you here?" Aurora asked, her attention drifting. She did not want Alex to realize her thoughts—she was just an ordinary woman drawn to his striking looks.
In her previous life, she had frequently seen him this way. Yet, for an unknown reason, she sensed her heart racing differently this time: quick and shallow.
"May I enter?" he asked again.
In an instant, Aurora’s heart raced even faster.
’What on earth, Alex? Why are you in a woman’s bedroom at this hour? Did you forget the prenup you asked me to sign?’
A flood of questions rushed through her mind, leaving her paralyzed and speechless.
Alex noticed Aurora shooting him a sharp look; although she didn’t utter a word, her eyes spoke volumes.
’Is she shy or mad?’ He couldn’t stop laughing softly as he noticed her cheeks flush a beautiful shade of red.
Guessing her thoughts, he said teasingly, "Young lady, if you think I’m coming here to touch you like a husband to his wife, you just insult me. I’m a man of my word. So, I won’t stoop that low."
Aurora blinked rapidly as she processed his words. Feeling too embarrassed, she cleared her throat and diverted her eyes, scolding him in her thoughts.
She stepped aside to let him enter her bedroom, even though she was confused about why he wanted to come in.
In the doorway, Aurora watched Alex walk to the far end of the room and sit on the sofa.
She wanted to follow him, yet for some unknown reason, her feet felt heavy.
Alex frowned when he saw Aurora still in her place, looking anxious.
He took a deep breath and said softly, "Aurora, I won’t do anything to you—there’s no reason to be concerned. Please sit before me; we need to talk to resolve this issue."
Aurora finally took a seat, deliberately looking away, avoiding his stare.
"You look nervous. Why do you look nervous?" Alex playfully asked, a mischievous smile on his face as Aurora sat opposite him.
Noticing her hands gripping her lap so firmly that her knuckles turned white, Alex found her nervousness even more amusing.
"I won’t do anything to you, Aurora, unless you want me to touch you...kidding," he said teasingly, trying to get her to look at him.
Aurora’s eyes flickered with surprise as she looked at Alex after his seductive words.
’Who on earth wants that? I certainly don’t!’ Aurora thought as she attempted to push away the unfamiliar feeling that was starting to creep into her mind.
"That’s far better than your efforts to avoid my gaze, Aurora," he said with a laugh, only heightening Aurora’s frustration.
Although Aurora feels irritated by Alex’s constant teasing, seeing his warm smile instead of his usual indifferent expression makes her somewhat relaxed and relieved. frёeωebɳovel.com
At least she was spared from the confusion of his strange actions.
"I’m not scared of you, but could you dress more modestly when you come to my room? Why expose so much skin?" she said nonchalantly, catching Alex off guard.
Alex’s laughter slowly faded. He saw his robe partially open at the neck, exposing his broad chest. It amused him to remember how she looked at his chest and blushed.
Alex nonchalantly adjusted his robe and turned his attention back to her. "I apologize, Aurora; I wasn’t aware of that. I hope you’re feeling better now..."
Aurora ignored his words. Instead, she asked, "What do you need, Alex? Can we discuss this tomorrow?"
She tried to remind him why he had come to her room late when they were supposed to be asleep.
Alex took something from his robe pocket and placed it on the coffee table before her.
"From now on, use this card for all your needs. Don’t spend a single penny of your own money."
Aurora was taken aback. Her gaze fixed on the black card resting on the table, yet she hesitated to reach for it. She understood it was more than an ordinary bank card; its value was substantial.
She recalled that previously, Alex only provided his wife with the typical card and never offered a black card for them.
’Why did he give me this exclusive black card? Was he trying to test me?’ she pondered, looking at him. She was surprised to see his gentle gaze.
"Take it!" Alex said that when he saw Aurora reluctant to take the card.
Aurora promptly considered her choices. After a moment’s pause, she chose to accept it.
However, once again, she tried to refuse to test his patient.
"Alex, is this necessary? You only need to transfer my father’s money to me—there’s no need to give me this card. I also heard from Josh that you provided him with a card for me to use. So..."
Aurora couldn’t continue when she saw Alex raise his hand, signaling her to stop talking.
"Did you happen to forget about our prenup? You’re my wife, and I’m here to take care of all your financial needs," he gently reminded her.
She nodded, clearly remembering the point.
"This is my personal card—feel free to bring it and use it however you like! It’s not limited in its usage, but just a little heads-up: if you decide to use it to buy a yacht or an island, the bank might contact me."
Aurora was speechless. ’Who the hell wants to buy a yacht?’
"But if you’re thinking about buying a sports car, a fancy bag, or lovely jewelry, they probably don’t bother to tell me. So go ahead..."
