Chapter 165: Leaving Him is The Only Option!

When Aurora reached for the bookshelf, she was surprised to discover it was not locked!

Her curiosity gradually fills her mind. Yet, just as she was about to take one of the journals, her hand stopped before she could.

She never touches other people’s belongings without permission; however, something inside her clouds her mind.

’Anyone can read it, right? That’s the reason why the bookshelf isn’t locked!’ Aurora wonders. She gritted her teeth, mustering the courage to take one.

After thinking for a moment, she picked up the black leather journal. Upon reading the first page, she immediately realized it was Andrew Graystone’s journal.

Countless questions swirl in her mind as she casually flips through another page.

’When did the Old Master start using this Library as his office?’

’Did they renovate his office? Is that why he moved here?’

Aurora feels amused by her own thoughts.

’Geez... Rory, you shouldn’t be concerned about something you shouldn’t be. You are no longer a part of this family’s staff.’

She could only shake her head, feeling silly. Just as she was about to return the journal, she froze upon seeing a note that raised her suspicions.

"September 6 marks the day! To ELIMINATE her."

’What the hell is this? Who did he want to eliminate on my birthday?’

For a brief moment, she tried to figure it out but found nothing. Just as she was about to forget the line, suddenly, something crossed her mind.

Gradually, her heartbeat quickens as her mind becomes filled with frightening thoughts.

’Impossible! It is just impossible! Did the old master want to eliminate me? He is the one who killed me? Why?’

For the first time after her rebirth, Aurora feels an overwhelming emotion, like a hurricane is now raging inside her.

The book in her hand slipped and dropped onto the marble floor as she began to feel suffocated.

Unbeknownst to her, she found herself kneeling on the floor as she picked up the journal.

She carefully picked up the journal again, hoping to find notes that could explain the car accident she had experienced.

"No one can escape the Graystone! How dare he request permission for his daughter?"

"I can’t ignore it any longer! We need heirs for this bloodline to continue. How could my foolish grandson grow those forbidden loves in his head?"

"I believe GOD is by my side. There is no other path!"

"I apologize! However, this is the sole option. I sincerely apologize!"

Reading all those words convinced Aurora that this was truly connected to her car accident.

Aurora covered her mouth in shock, fearing she might scream and draw Alex and Andrew Graystone’s attention. She could feel her limbs trembling with the agony she experienced.

’This is not true, right?’ She still tries not to believe it. But all those words remain, even after blinking a few times, hoping all those lines in the journal will vanish.

’Master, why have you done this to me? Why do you destroy my life and future? Is it solely because of your greed? Why?’

After her rebirth, Aurora attempts to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, but she never uncovers any suspicious details.

Aurora is never suspicious of Andrew Graystone because she considers him just like her own grandpa. He was her savior, the one who freed her from Graystone.

How could she possibly be suspicious of him?

The one she suspected was Sophia Morrison, her mortal enemy from her previous life. However, upon investigating her, she found no evidence linking her to the incident. This led her to dismiss the matter, believing it was simply an accident.

’Old master! How could you blame me for Alex’s failed marriage? Why do you blame me when I never felt for him?’

Her breath became shallow as she pressed her hand against her chest, struggling to breathe normally, but it was difficult.

After ensuring she recorded everything in the journal, Aurora attempted to calm her intense emotions and summoned her last strength to stand. She placed the journal back on the bookshelf.

Instead of rushing to confront Andrew Graystone in the seating area, she returned to the window to gaze toward her father’s house to clear her mind.

She allowed her tears to fall down her cheeks for a while, expressing her agony now.

Her mind couldn’t stop racing with thoughts about her next plan. She wanted to go and expose Andrew Graystone, dragging him to the police station, but she abandoned all those ideas.

Aurora understood that the journal entries wouldn’t serve as solid evidence to imprison Andrew Graystone.

Her only option was to conduct her own investigation and gather strong evidence to reveal the truth about everything.

’Why did you treat me that way just because my father pleaded with you to let me go? Master, I never had feelings for your grandson! Why am I to blame?’ Aurora can’t stop thinking about it.

The harder she tries to push those questions away, the more they seem to linger, creating a tremendous pressure in her mind that feels like it’s about to burst.

’Dad, are you aware of all this?’ This question has become the top concern in her mind.

She desperately wants to go out, meet her father, and ask him, but her new identity as Aurora Spencer holds her back. She could only swallow her anger!

Her hands clenched tightly, turning her knuckles white as she tried to hold back her emotions.

She takes a deep breath, focusing on breathing steadily while attempting to dispel the figurative dark cloud hovering behind her.

Aurora feels increasingly depressed staying in this house. She can’t remain here much longer or risk showing anger in front of Andrew Graystone.

’Wait! Alex... was he aware of it?’ She thought, her hand trembling at the thought of Alex.

’What if he is aware of his grandfather’s actions and chooses to support him?’

’What if his loyalty to that old man leads him to conceal the crime?’

Aurora feels as if lightning strikes her when she thinks of that possibility. If it happens, she can’t stay beside him. Leaving him is the only option.
