Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 166: Left The Graystone’s House Abruptly
Chapter 166: Left The Graystone’s House Abruptly
Aurora’s view of Andrew Graystone has now entirely shifted.
She no longer views him as someone she should respect the most.
She no longer sees him as a good person who supported her freedom before the accident.
All gone now!
All that is left is anger and hatred within her, perceiving him as a devil. He is even more vile than a monster!
Aurora forced herself to appear calm and composed. But unknown to anyone else, she was torn apart inside.
All her thoughts of how to take revenge on Andrew Graystone now play in her mind: Eliminate him the same way he did to her? Drag him to the police station? Punish him and throw him in jail? Humiliate him in public?
’No! That punishment was really too light for him! I can’t use those to punish the person who is mere days away from leaving this cruel, mortal world!’
...
When Aurora was caught up in her sinister plan for revenge, Alex now faced his family to make excuses for their sudden departure.
"Alex, Aurora, what made you cancel your overnight stay?" Sophia asked, looking confused as she glanced at Alex and Aurora sitting across from her.
Sophia feels disappointed. This morning, she had already planned to spend the night after dinner with Aurora. But her plan failed when Alex and Aurora rushed home before dinner.
"Brat, didn’t you say you were going to sleep here? Why suddenly change your plan?" Andrew Graystone, who was with them in the living room, also asked, looking confused.
Alex took a deep breath in silence. He feels confused and is unable to respond to them. Earlier, Aurora suddenly begged him to return to their house and cancel their stay at this place.
When he asked why, Aurora said she had something important to do, and she needed her supercomputer in her study room.
What confused Alex even more was that Aurora pleaded to return home in tears.
If he hadn’t seen her tears earlier, he would have ignored her and coaxed her to sleep here. But the sorrowful look in her eyes pierced his heart; he couldn’t just turn a blind eye to her.
And without realizing it, he agreed with her, even though he had to lie to his parents and grandpa.
Taking a moment to think, Alex had no choice but to devise a random excuse.
"Grandpa, I have to go out of town. There’s a sudden problem that I have to take care of there," Alex replied, keeping his voice calm and steady. He was still holding Aurora’s hand, but was surprised to notice how cold it felt.
Alex began to suspect that something was bothering her now.
The disappointed gaze flashed through Andrew and the others.
"If your company is facing issues, you can let Aurora spend the night with us," Andrew Graystone suggested cheerfully. Yet, upon hearing this, Aurora felt a chill run through her.
Aurora averted her eyes, focusing on her hand in Alex’s as she silently cursed Andrew Graystone. She had vowed never to return to this house until he faced the consequences of his malicious deeds.
"Oh, dear Aurora... What your grandpa said is right. You should stay with us here one night, huh? Let Alex take care of his company..." Sophia’s pleading tone made Aurora lift her head and see her.
Sophia smiled before continuing to persuade Aurora, "Don’t worry, I will ask Thomas to drive you home tomorrow morning. How dear?"
Aurora clenched her hands, prompting Alex to feel her distress.
Alex glanced at her before responding to his mother, "She will fly with me, too. I can’t leave her here. Also, we actually planned to go on our honeymoon after I finish my work there."
These are the only words Alex could utter at this second to stop them and force them to stay here.
"Honeymoon?" Sophia’s eyes beamed. "Hahaha, okay, okay..." She immediately agreed after hearing her son’s reason.
Sophia turns her gaze to Aurora and smiles sweetly, saying, "Oh dear, Aurora, you must go with Alex and return with the new baby. Alright, dear..."
"Bwahaha, you are right, my wife. They have to go. There is no need to stay here now," Matthew Graystone commented happily. He truly wanted to hear this: They have heirs for their family.
"Brat! You need to tell me beforehand." Andrew Graystone nodded with delight, glancing at his grandson and Aurora. "I won’t hold you back. You both can go now. But make sure to bring me a great-grandchild!"
...
As they drove toward Green Hill, Aurora shut her eyes to pretend to sleep.
She did not want Alex to ask her anything. Because if he asked, she didn’t know how to respond. She didn’t have accurate evidence.
Moreover, she didn’t want to trust anyone—not even Alex!
A few minutes after departing the Pine Hills housing area, Alex’s voice shattered the stillness.
"Aurora, please, would you mind sharing whatever made you feel this way?"
Alex’s voice carried weight, reflecting his worry and concern.
"Please don’t say that you are fine. I know something is bothering your mind. So, you are definitely not fine!" Alex continued as he saw her finally glance at him.
All the thoughts and sentences that Aurora had carefully lined up in her mind slowly slipped away after she heard Alex’s words, which felt like he understood exactly what she wanted to say.
Aurora could only laugh bitterly inside as she avoided Alex’s gaze and turned to look at the road ahead.
After a brief pause, she said, "Please give me time to confirm it first, Alex..." without making eye contact with him.
She wished to hide her sadness from Alex, not wanting to make him more suspicious and confused.
Alex, who heard her answer, was even more confused. His forehead creased further as he tried to figure out what was troubling her.
Although he intended to wait for her to speak, he couldn’t help himself when a thought crossed his mind.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly before voicing his concerns.
"Is it because of my mother? Did she say something to make you feel this way, Aurora?"
