Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 138: The First Date (1)
Chapter 138: The First Date (1)
In the private underground parking garage.
Aurora hurried to the car, leaving Josh behind, who was also shocked to see Alex there.
"Alex, why didn’t you say you were returning today?" Aurora asked. No longer walking, she almost ran to him. When she saw him open his arms and smile, she embraced him.
"I missed you," she whispered, too shy to reveal her genuine emotions to him. Her voice reached Alex, and he responded by tightening his embrace.
After a few moments, Alex finally loosened his arms. "I wanted to surprise you," he said softly, meeting her gaze. "How was your first day?"
Suddenly, Aurora’s expression changed from loving to tense. She needed to speak to him about his arrangement for her to do an internship in his office.
How could this man relocate so many people just to clear the entire fifty-seventh floor for her?
"Alex, we need to talk about something!" Aurora said.
Her stare was enough to make Alex aware of what she was about to discuss. When he landed, the first text he read was Patrick’s report on everything about her.
"Alright, let’s have a date while we talk..." Alex grinned and took her hand. He opened the car door for her and assisted her inside.
Aurora was too surprised by his words; all the things she wanted to clarify to him were suddenly gone from her mind, replaced by the tension of going on a date, a real date, with him.
"A date? A real date?" she asked softly, glancing at him.
However, Alex avoided her gaze, focusing instead on ensuring she sat comfortably before gently closing the door for her.
Aurora struggled to contain the sudden surge of giddy emotions within her. She imagined them on a date, enjoying the evening together—just the two and no one else around!
She waited anxiously for him while he chatted with Josh. Moments later, she finally saw him approach the driver’s seat.
"Where are we going?" Aurora asked with curiosity, her eyes brightening as she watched Alex close the car door. His brilliant gaze and thin, meaningful smile again made her previously calm heart start pounding.
’Oh my, will he be taking me to our honeymoon now?’ she wondered. This question loomed large in her thoughts.
Aurora swallowed quietly as she watched him fasten his seatbelt and start the car engine.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked, briefly glancing at her before refocusing on driving the car out of the basement.
’Oh, thank goodness... So this is pure dating,’ Aurora thought, unable to suppress a laugh as her imagination ran wild. She envisioned Alex surprising her by heading straight to their honeymoon destination.
Alex always discussed his plans during their conversations while he was on a business trip.
However, he never disclosed the specifics of where and when. Instead, he merely inquired about her likes and preferences. He truly wanted to surprise her.
Whenever they discussed it, she constantly felt anxious, like a knot tied in her stomach. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"I don’t have a specific place in mind to visit. I’ll go wherever you lead..." Aurora replied earnestly as she looked back at the road ahead.
In her previous life, she cherished visiting the Serendipity Restaurant whenever she had free time. For the rest of her time, she often enjoyed staying at home, accompanying him on his business trips, or working at Stardust Group.
Aurora Spencer’s memories: She didn’t find anything particular about this girl’s favorite spots to visit for a date. And that makes her come to a conclusion. Aurora Spencer and she share a similar trait—neither has ever dated or been romantically involved.
Knowing this somewhat makes her feel sorry for the lack of romance in both their lives. This is so embarrassing.
"Seriously, you don’t have one?" Alex’s surprised question prompted her to look at him again.
"Hmm, I’ve never dated before." She shrugged.
"No way!" Alex was surprised to hear that. She was so pretty and had so many admirers who tried to pursue her. How could she have never dated before?
Aurora was unsure how to respond to his shocked expression. She wondered whether she should cry or flee, and she found the situation incredibly embarrassing.
"Did you have someone you liked? What was his name again?" he asked after a brief silence.
Aurora was left speechless; this man must be referring to Max.
’Did he also know that I had a crush on him? Should I tell him about it?’ Aurora thought.
The thought lasted only a moment as she quickly shook her head, dismissing the idea of revealing Aurora Spencer’s true feelings to him.
She knew she couldn’t do that, or Alex would become even more obsessed with her. Again!
Narrowing her eyes at him, she casually said, "Alex, can you stop asking Josh to spy on me?" Her stare was enough to snap Alex.
Alex chose to stop teasing her. Instead, he concentrated on the road ahead as he smoothly drove away from the bustling business center.
After a few more minutes, Aurora finally guessed where Alex would bring her this time. It was a park by the river where young people usually hang out with their friends or partners.
By the time they arrived at the car park, the area was nearly empty; only a few cars were parked there.
The city lights from the skyscrapers in the city center, across the river, looked stunning. From their car, she could see the Stardust Building, the tallest structure in her view.
Alex switched off the car engine and turned to face her.
"This is the trendy spot for young people to date these days. I hope you enjoy it here."
His warm gaze sparked a feeling within her once more. She simply nodded in reply, her eyes focused on the scenery ahead.
But seconds later, she felt Alex drawing closer to her. When she thought this man would kiss her again, he said, "Did you miss me?"
She turned to him, stunned by how close his face was. "Yes, I told you before."
"But why do you seem to be avoiding me? Shouldn’t you embrace me like a koala?" he asked.
"Koala? Why did you suddenly bring a koala into our conversation? Do I look like one?" she asked, confused.
Alex said nothing but leaned even closer before he sealed her lips.
