Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 129: What She Found Shocked Her
Chapter 129: What She Found Shocked Her
Before Aurora can say anything, Tina’s words shock her even more.
"Yay! I can’t wait any longer for our young master to be born..."
Aurora could not bear to overhear their discussion, which embarrassed her. Anxiously, she interjected, "Do you all have nothing to do?"
Martin and the others were frozen when they saw Aurora standing nearby, her expression clearly unhappy.
Their expressions gradually shifted from surprise to guilt, culminating in pleas for mercy. The three of them smiled regretfully at her before voicing their thoughts.
"Lady boss, did you happen to hear all that?" Josh asked with a playful smile, attempting to tease her. "We’re sorry if you did; we’re just expressing how delighted we are for you."
"Y-Young madam, I apologize," Martin said, bowing slightly. "We assure you it won’t happen again!" He raised his hand to form a V sign, smiling at the end.
"Young madam, Master Alex has left!? Come, let’s go upstairs. We have many matters to attend to up there," Tina smiles as she approaches her.
Aurora could only sigh deeply while hiding her flushed cheeks after hearing them discuss her future baby.
She can’t believe how quickly Tina is thinking there, even though she has not yet imagined the possibility of having Alex’s child.
Just thinking about it already gives her goosebumps all over.
Yet, when she tried to express her irritation, the sight of their happy faces dismissed her idea.
She could only respond with "Mmh..." and began to walk inside with Tina beside her.
...
Upon arriving on the second floor, Aurora was impressed to see that Tina and Martin had already finished moving all her belongings to the master bedroom.
What was left to do was clean and reorganize her old bedroom to create space for a new activity room and home office.
"Ma’am, I moved your laptop to Master Alex’s office, but I didn’t touch anything related to your supercomputer," Tina explained as she walked into Aurora’s messy study room.
"It’s all good. I just need my laptop to work at Alex’s office for now while you finish tidying up here," Aurora replies, collecting a few items from her desk.
Aurora didn’t remain there for long. She allowed Tina to continue her work and went to Alex’s home office.
...
When Aurora returned to Alex’s home office after quite some time, she felt happiness and sadness simultaneously.
A bit ambiguous, really. She was happy because Alex trusted her to enter this room, which she knew was private and precious to him. Only a handful of people have access to this room.
However, she feels sad because this is the same home office she often visited and used in her previous life. Albeit cold and indifferent to Aurora Moon, Alex trusted her without resorting to a single doubt.
Aurora shook her head slowly, trying to push away her memories. However, a frown crossed her face when she noticed her laptop and some personal items on Alex’s office table.
"Gosh! Aunty Tina, why did you place my laptop here?" Aurora said softly as she approached the table and grabbed her laptop.
Before she could walk to the seating area in the corner, she noticed the desk drawer was open, and the files inside appeared messy.
Looks like Alex had quickly taken something from there and forgot to close it again.
A thin smile appeared on her lips as she recalled how Alex often did that, and, of course, she always cleaned or tidied up for him.
As Alex’s former assistant, her instincts gradually surface. Unexpectedly, she sets her laptop and belongings on the table and then walks behind the desk to close the drawer.
However, her hand halted as she spotted a birthday card inside. This was her first time seeing a birthday card in the drawer.
"Did someone give him this birthday card?" Aurora mutters to herself. A frown creases her forehead upon hearing her own words.
She quickly dismisses the thought, realizing that Alex’s birthday is still far in the future. Furthermore, she did not see the card during her last glance in the drawer.
Curiosity sparked inside her, and before she realized it, her hand instinctively reached for the card.
Surprisingly, she saw a black box, beautifully wrapped in a gold ribbon, hidden underneath. She did not dare touch the box, yet shamelessly opened the card.
As she read the words, her knees buckled, and she sank into the chair, her hands trembling.
"W-What? Is this card for me?" she stammered, her voice shaking in disbelief at seeing her name, "Rory."
She covered her mouth in surprise as a troubling thought crossed her mind.
"Oh my god! Alex remembers my birthday? Wait, when did he prepare this?"
Aurora’s hands trembled as she traced Alex’s signature with her finger. Her eyes were fixed on the date written below his signature: September 6.
"Alex, you actually remembered my birthday? Why didn’t you mention it when I asked? Why?"
Her eyes began to blur as her tears fell. She quickly wiped them away but was shocked to see them on the card.
"Oh no... Rory, you’re in big trouble..."
She tried to wipe away the evidence of her tears, but they remained slightly noticeable.
Giving up, she returned the card before closing the drawer.
Standing up from the chair, she quickly grabbed her laptop and walked to the corner seating area.
Settling into the soft sofa, her intention to open her laptop immediately vanished. The memories of her fight with Alex that night flooded her mind again like a video clip.
Aurora lay on the sofa, closing her eyes as she sought peace among her thoughts, trying to cast away that night’s vivid, painful memories.
She wished to forget those sorrowful times, but the birthday card she found in Alex’s drawer triggered those painful memories.
’What if that night he answers me... he remembers my birthday?’ This question now arises in her mind, seeking an answer.
If Alex is honest with her, she may not feel angry or disappointed and might choose to stay home. She won’t end up in a fatal car accident!
Sigh!
...
"What are you doing sleeping there, Aurora? Are you okay?"
Aurora was shocked to hear the voice.
