Aurora feels better after seeing the doctor.

The doctor shared the news she longed for: her wound is healing quickly, she will soon no longer need a large bandage, and her hair will grow back normally.

However, even though Aurora received encouraging news about her wound results, her excitement dimmed slightly when she noticed Alex carefully removing his suit, revealing only his white slim-fit shirt. He rolled his shirt up to his elbows, showing his strong arms.

She felt as if she were watching him in slow motion, and she was filled with awe at his handsomeness.

When he finally turned his gaze toward her, she quickly averted her eyes while mentally scolding herself.

’What is going on, Rory! You saw him like this daily; why are you suddenly flustered?’ She can’t understand what is happening to her now.

Aurora tried hard to hide her blush while waiting for him to lead her to the first floor.

A slight grin spread across Alex’s face when he saw her blush and deliberately avert her gaze.

"Shall we go now?" He asked.

She nods while following him to the stairs.

"Aurora, there’s no need to feel anxious. Jimmy and Patrick are my closest friends. You can relax and be casual around them."

"Hmm, I will..." Aurora replies softly. Yet, she finds it difficult to conceal her anxiety about meeting them again for the first time since her tragic incident.

When they finally reached the first floor, Aurora was taken aback when Alex unexpectedly took her hand and clutched it as they made their way to the living room.

She shifted her focus from their joined hands to him.

As if sensing the question through her gaze, Alex smiled when their eyes met.

"They will be suspicious if we don’t hold hands like a newlywed husband and wife usually do," he explained.

His explanation calmed her anxieties. Earlier, she almost thought this man was trying to captivate her with his charm again.

’Focus, Rory! You need to act as his loving wife.’ She tries to remind herself repeatedly while suppressing the foreign feeling inside her.

When Aurora noticed Patrick and Jimmy suddenly pause their conversation and rise from their seats, her heart raced.

Jimmy wore a formal suit, his black hair closely shaved like a soldier’s. His tall, thin frame resembled a model, but the gold-framed glasses gave him a serious, bright look.

Patrick wears casual clothes all the time, even in the office. His white T-shirt is layered over his light-brown jacket and jeans. He only wears his suit for important meetings. Usually, his short brown hair looks neat, but now it’s messy and unkempt, and his beard is more visible.

Seeing Patrick like this made Aurora’s heart and mind hurt. ’Is he still grieving for my death, too?’ she wondered, silently taking a deep sigh and hurriedly setting aside her worries about him.

Aurora tries to appear calm beside Alex, even though she is busy soothing her nervousness inwardly.

"Alex, I’m glad you invited us." Jimmy warmly greeted Alex, but his gaze was fixed on Aurora. He was struck by her delicate features and unique hair color. He rarely encountered a young woman with gray hair, and her skin tone perfectly matched her hair.

"And who is this lovely lady?" Jimmy asked, his gaze fixed on Aurora, bewitched.

"Guys, please meet my wife, Aurora Spencer..." Alex said casually before turning to her. "Aurora, this is Jimmy, and the other is Patrick; they are my friends."

Alex guided her to a seat on the two-seater sofa, facing Jimmy and Patrick.

However, before Aurora could sit, Jimmy extended a handshake while warmly greeting her. "Hello, sister-in-law. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Jimmy, Alex’s best friend."

Hearing him call her sister-in-law instantly brings a warm blush to her cheeks.

But now, gazing into her beautiful blue eyes, he feels as if he is being drawn into the deep blue sea.

’Damn! Did she send me her picture in high school?’ Patrick wondered while smiling warmly at her before extending his hand for a handshake.

"Aurora, I’m sorry to frighten you. I didn’t intend to do that," he said gently. "I’m Patrick Wallace, I guess you know who I am, right?"

"Wait, Aurora... So, are you going to work at Stardust Tech?" Jimmy asked. This was the first time he had heard Alex invite his family to join his company.

Aurora slightly nods before answering, "Yes, I will begin my internship next week."

"What surprising news, Alex..." Jimmy gazed at Alex as if begging for an explanation. Still, Patrick’s laugh echoed and distracted Alex before he could say anything.
