Chapter 117: Shoping Spree

A/N: Soul Avatar is changed to Spirit Physique. I forgot i had termed it Spirit Physique the first time it was discovered.

***

[It’s because the Sovereign-rank seems to be the limit of spirit potency in this world. The quality of spirit is not going above Sovereign-rank here, which is why there are no Monsters above Sovereign-rank, and it must be the reason Sovereign-rank tamers go away since they can’t get more powerful here. ]

’Oh, so that’s the case.’

To Azelis, he relayed, ’Well, we’ll solve the mystery of where people go when the time comes. I am going to pretend to be a Sovereign-rank tamer, so maybe I’ll find out about it somehow. And Azelis, you will also eventually go through to Sovereign-rank, so you’ll know as well.’

’Yeah. For now, I’ll create my Spirit Physique and transfer the progress,’ Azelis said, her voice jolly.

After all, she would keep her progress and still be able to change Monster Geno Art! It was amazing news.

Removing their probing eyes from Tavros, they opened their eyes.

John got up and stretched his arms and legs. "You finish your Spirit Physique while I prepare some Monster Geno Arts for you."

"Eh? How?" Azelis blinked.

"Did you forget? I am going to be a merchant, so I should have my products, right?" John grinned. "There are still a few things you don’t know, and I can’t show you, but just know that I have a shop and it requires sacrifice of resources, or rather, things with spirit energy to buy stuff in it."

"For example, here," John said as he waved his hand and took out a fancy box with neon light patterns, as well as a fancy book.

The book and chest both sprang up a hologram above them, showing their details so Azelis could know what they were.

On top of the book, there was —

[Astralborn Nihirius Drifter—Space/Gravity—Drifter/Reaper type. Difficulty: ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆]

And on top of the chest was—

[Monster Geno Arts selection. Please choose one.]

1. [Blightshade Bloomcaller—Poison/Nature—Support/Controller type. Difficulty: ☆☆☆]

2. [Frostbane Feral Drake—Frost/Beast—Berserker type. Difficulty: ☆☆☆]

3. [Embercoil Hex Sermeister—Fire/Curse—Sorcerer type. Difficulty: ☆☆☆]

"W-What the..." Azelis was dumbfounded as she looked at the box. "What kind of magic is this? Does that mean you can select one of the three Monster Geno Arts?"

"Yeah, and by the way, the book is mine. I’ll train in that Monster Geno Art after removing my current one."

Azelis pouted and said, "And you want me to select a three-star Monster Geno Art?"

John laughed as he put away the box and the book. "Of course not. I’ll get a new one for you. Hopefully a ten-star like mine. This 3-star one is to sell alongside other products."

"Oh, then I am looking forward to my new Monster Geno Art."

...

Azelis went into meditation to create her Spirit Physique while John went to the garden to check what to sacrifice.

He had tons of Bronze, Silver, and Gold resources, while he also had several King and Emperor resources, as well as two Sovereign-rank resources thanks to Jason and Tavros.

With this increase in resources, his Molding Essence production had reached 234,940 per day.

He would be able to upgrade Monster Paradise sooner instead of later.

There were a total of 7 Emperor-rank resources, so John decided to sacrifice one.

The shop’s first week after he sacrificed that mysterious arm had yet to pass, so he had no Xhal Drops yet.

But after two days, he would get 1,000,000 Xhal Drops!

[A/N: Yes. The weekly Xhal Drops is actually 1,000,000 instead of 100,000. I forgot to put one more zero in Chapter 90, where this was mentioned after John sacrificed that arm. ]

For now, he would need to sacrifice a resource to get Xhal Drops and buy a Monster Geno Art for Azelis, as well as other stuff he found goo,d so he could sell them later.

[Azelis]

-Soul Rank: Empress

-Soul Talent:

—> 1. Nameless Blade.

—> 2. Darkin Force.

-Stats:

— Strength: 845

— Defense: 836

— Speed: 854

— Soul Crystal: 5000/5000

-Pet Monster Space: [6/6]

-Soul Techniques: [5/5]

-Monster Geno Art:

—>

-Quirks:

—> Darkness Mastery level 5.

—> Windbloom Mastery level 5.

—> Gravecinder mastery level 4.

Windbloom was a variant of Wind + Flora, while Gravecinder was a variant of Fire + Necro.

’Well... there’s no guarantee that she would get matching attributed Monster Geno Art.’

It wasn’t up to him, after all. The shop generated items randomly.

But even if it had different attributes, Azelis could just get more quirks while learning it, as he would soon.

Removing his Bloodlash Veinforge Strider would also remove his Geno Ability—Strider’s Gaunt, but not his Blood and Metal mastery.

That was permanent as he had mastered them, but Spirit Physique could only have one Monster Geno Art at a time, and Geno Abilities required Geno patterns of whatever Monster Geno Art they were derived from, so Geno Abilities couldn’t be kept after changing Monster Geno Art.

...

John opened the shop and began refreshing after he sacrificed an Emperor-rank resource that gave him 1,120,300 Xhal Drops. He sacrificed the second-highest potency Emperor-rank resource.

The one with the highest potency could give him 1,300,450 Xhal Drops, but he kept it in the garden for future use.

After refreshing tons of times and buying things, John ended his shopping spree as he was left with only 369 Xhal Drops.

The things he bought were—

1. High-tier Soul Technique Selection Box.

2. High-tier Monster Geno Art Selection Box.

3. River Stream Gravitas Flower [ Gravity / Water ] (Resource/Emperor-rank)

4. Seeds of Spatial Nexus Vines x 5 [ Space ] (King-rank resource seeds)

5. Random Assortment of Seeds Box.

The random assortment of seeds was new, and John bought it right away, even though it cost 250,000 Xhal Drops.

But it was random, and he could get some good seeds.

Without further ado, he opened it first and got 17 seeds.

3 x Seeds of Icebound Nether Tree. Emperor-rank. (Ice / Darkness)

4 x Seeds of Blood Rhyming Flower. Bronze-rank. ( Blood / Sound )

2 x Seeds of Necro-lamp Flower. King-rank. ( Necro / Light)

5 x Seeds of Mirrorbell Thornbush. Silver-rank. ( Crystal / Flora )

3 x Seeds of Graviroot Flower-Vine. Sovereign-rank. ( Gravity )

"Damn, this is not bad at all."

John was surprised. But the fact that he only got this assortment of seeds box one time so far made it a rare appearance.

He gave these 17 seeds as well as 5 seeds of Spatial Nexus Vine and River Stream Gravitas Flower to Becky, who began planting them carefully in the garden while humming a song.

She had already rearranged the garden, creating different sections for various plants to grow properly after the batch of resources she got from Tavros and Jason’s storage rings.

’Now, time to open other things.’

John also took out the Mid-tier Soul Technique selection box he had brought alongside the Soul Technique he was going to learn next —Starlight Rider.

Looking at the boxes before him, he couldn’t help but grin.

He first opened the mid-tier soul technique box. Since he planned to sell it in the first place, he didn’t bother thinking much and chose the soul technique, which had the highest number of stars in difficulty.

[ Blood Reckon Boomerang — Blood — Difficulty: ☆☆☆☆ ]

The other two were three-star ones, so he didn’t pick them.

Putting this scroll away, he moved to the next box.

High-Tier Soul Technique Selection Box.

’Starlight Rider is an 8-star Soul Technique...if there’s a 9 or 10-star soul technique in this box that I find appealing, I should learn it instead.’

’Wait, I am going to break through to Gold-rank, so I’ll be able to learn a total of three Soul Techniques. Might as well learn Starlight Rider and another good one if I get from this box.’

John didn’t need to hold back since he wasn’t going to participate in Silver-rank Tamers’ competitions anymore.

’Well, let’s first see what this box has.’

John opened the box.
