That invisible barrier was terrifying.

Levon and many massaged their chins thoughtfully.

It seems the barrier only activates after Lights Out... because during the day, they’ve flown higher.

"In the end," Yimu continued, Twirling in her hands and delivering a spinning kick at 4 tentacles coming her way. "Even if we are now stronger than ordinary people, whatever is up there is still likely to slice through our bodies like tofu."

So what should they do now?

The attacks from these tentacles were excessive. Yimu, Floriana, Rita, and Natalia, were standing on Rolo’s enlarged Shard Pot battling with all theory might.

Fufufufu~

Rolo looked to be jovial, bubbly and very relaxed. However, there was always a glint of excitement in her eyes, especially in times like this.

"Well, I don’t know what to tell all you bags of Skeletons, but as someone who knows a thing or 2 about cooked vegetables... I can tell you now that the only way to start eating it out, is through the fucking roots."

Roots?

Levon’s eyes sharpened, understanding her thoughts. "In other words, we have to destroy its base first."

Now they were starting to have a plan. Aim for the Base. Some thought so, but most felt they had other options

"I say we just make a run for it, straight ahead. Isn’t that better than wasting our breaths?" Someone suggested. "Look closely, there’s at least 7 feet of gap space between the towering estate walls and the invisible lining above that cuts things clean. Can’t we just make a run for it and slide right out?"

The girl who spoke, furrowed her brows, pointing the obvious to everyone.

It’s not that she was a coward or anything, but there were just too many of these tentacles and plants below in comparison to them.

Going down there now to fight them all, would be nothing but suicide.

It’s true that they’re all bold and daring but nature, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t calculating and valued their lives.

A stupid death is just as good as a weakling’s death.

Many had inwardly agreed that If they ever had to go off from this world, it must be because they were fighting the top Vampire forces or the top Bloodren forces in this world.

How dare they just die like that because of a mere plant?

No way! They would be rolling in their graves just thinking of it.

.

.

Dammit!

’I’m almost at my limit!’

Levon’s left eye twitched, feeling his calmness melting away like ice on a hearth.

Rayna seemed to understand this, worriedly throwing her side eye to Levon. "Brother Levy, how long can you hold?"

"Long enough!" Levon replied, sweat already cloaking his entire body.

Cautioning himself, he took several deep inhales. ’Keep it together, Levon... Keep it together...’

"Everyone, running off might look like the better option. But don’t forget that even if we succeed today, tomorrow’s escape will be far different..." Especially if someone wants to sneak off alone.

"He’s right," Rita agreed, "Who knows... tomorrow, the 7 foot space between the walls and the cut off line above might decrease? Maybe The gap will reduce so much, leaving just a 1 foot gap tomorrow... And I’m one hundred percent sure that none of us here can make it through such a tiny space."

"I see your point." Hendrix nodded, while Payne beside him punched the heads of several tentacles. "Perhaps tomorrow, the only way out will be by opening the estate’s gates that are now swarming with these plants."

So if they don’t take advantage of their current numbers to find a manageable way out, then when on their own, it will be far harder.

"Well then, what are we waiting for?" The speaker was another Bloodren 10 with a punk hairdo. The left side was pink while the right side was green.

Barely evading the attacks from the hundreds of tentacle heads, the group nodded tactfully before descending down to eliminate the Roots and find other ways out.

But how could it be that simple?

Just then—

"BOSS"

One of the tentacles had viciously grabbed onto the Punk-haired teen. Then on its gelatinous body, they saw a giant Cyclop-eye appear.

Terrible.

Like a goat’s, its Iris was rectangular, providing it greater vision.

Many swallowed loudly. So all this time, these tentacles were operating with their eyes closed?

NOT GOOD!

They found that after descending halfway to down towards the ground, all tentacles opened their giant pupils.

"BOSS!"

2 other Bloodren 10s appeared to assist their injured boss, successfully cutting off the attacked gelatinous wrapping around their boss’s right arm.

Deep patches of purple now stained the bloodied and exposed skin. But that wasn’t all. They could see with their own eyes, as greenish purplish hues began spreading from his hand towards the rest of his body.

Then, everyone’s faces turned grim.

The purple discoloration was unmistakable–A sign of potential poisoning!

"This isn’t just your normal injury," someone muttered, carefully observing how fast it began to spread.

"Hey, you..." One of the frantic Bloodrens spoke, holding onto his poisoned Boss. "The one they call Shugo, you know about poisons, right?"

Yes, the teen was anxious. At this moment, his white blood cells increased. Countless butterflies flooded his belly, the nervousness and anxiety of the matter evident on his face.

"Boss! Boss! Boss!"

How can this happen?

He and the boss had also known each other before coming to this place. Their kinship was real.

It wasn’t just him, but all 7 people in their group, who used to be famous delinquents. They were cruel, fierce, and completely ruled the school during their ’era.’

Typically, you would expect one of them to die or fail during the Entrance Examinations, but you would be wrong. They assisted each other, looking out for each other as they usually did in the past.

It was strange to see people keep their original brotherhood when entering in such a place.

Just look at Rayna?

She was betrayed by her childhood best friend, thrown to a vampire during their first night drill.

.

.

Poisoned, huh?

"Buddy, what do you think?" Shugo asked Levon with a smile on his lips.

"Go," Levon replied, using his fists and not his Katana, to fight.

It took all his energy to keep fighting.

’I’ve still got roughly 30 seconds of Shard use in me. But I can’t unleash it now.’ Levon’s eyes moved thoughtfully.

’As Shugo says: Where there is poison, there’s often a cure growing close by. If he can decipher what sort of poison it was, he should be able to figure out white plant here is the cure.’

Levon allowed Shugo to go, so they too can get some understanding of the poison.

"Hurry, Shugo!"

"On it!"

Leo controlled his card, steering it towards the punk-haired boy’s group. Then, Shugo pumped off, while Artilla continued to take on defense.

With her Whip and Fan shards, she was indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Her movements were fluid like water, despite the obvious panic fueling her bones.

’Brother Levy, hold on a bit longer...’

BAM!

Artilla struck her opponents hard.

"Shugo, how much longer?"

"Won’t be long... Although the poison is fairly new to me, there are still a few common signs that can’t go unnoticed."

Shugo chuckled softly, staring at the hand that was tied on its elbow to prevent the poison from spreading.

Soon, everyone was taken into a brief lecture state.

"Poisons can be mostly classified by their chemical nature, whether they are metallic, organic, acidic, or alkaline."

Listening to all the changes that were already happening in the infected Bloodren’s hand.

The hand began to rot and fester, like some demonic phenomena.

There were dents that made his hand look like a purple moon with craters scattered around it. A foul stench began seeping out, almost blinding their nostrils upon impact. And everyone suddenly felt that if things aren’t rushed fast, this guy might truly lose his hand.

"Already," Shugo turned his attention to the man gritting his teeth and battling for his dear life. "You’re already experiencing dizziness and nausea... Your body is heating up rapidly, at an incredibly insane rate. At this point, I don’t expect you to live for more than 5 minutes."

"What?!"

Several people felt a chill crawl up their spines.

So if they were doing this on their own and got poisoned, they would die just like that?

How scary...

They forgot that even if they had Shard abilities and better immune systems, they are still susceptible to poisons.

"Well, I figure that if we were normal without our Shard abilities, we would die barely a millisecond after getting beaten." Shugo advised.

The fact that this guy was still alive and well was solely because he was no longer ordinary. "Okay, okay, so how the hell do we save him?" Someone asked impatiently, wanting to know not for the sick man’s sake, but for their own sake.

If... If they sneak out on their own... alone, shouldn’t they know what antidotes to move with?

What a terrifying POISON
