I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 86: Trickery!
Chapter 86: Trickery!
Arc 2, Chapter 86 —Trickery!

Isn’t it true what they say?
To see clearly, one must at times, take several steps back after success.
The room was filled with powerful youths, no doubt. However... they failed to grasp such a simple truth. Levon chuckled, finding that even he had made such a low-level mistake.
Levon stopped by the majestic double sided doors, slowly turning to face the group.
"Don’t you feel it?" His taunting voice echoed richly. It was hard to say whether he mocked them or himself.
"I’ll ask one more time..." He wasn’t addressing the entire congregation, but the particular special ones amongst them. "Don’t you feel it? That feeling of spiraling?"
As he spoke he slowly lifted a hand, slowly wiggling his fingers with a shallow smirk.
"It’s amazing how much its cold fingers of fear have wrapped themselves around our cognition... Intoxicating, isn’t it?"
Fear...
That’s what he was talking about. Many didn’t understand. But then again... was he talking to just anyone?
Fufufu... Fahfahfah... Bahahahaahahha~
An overly boisterous flood of laughter crackled from the most unexpected person. Since entry into the Order, they’ve never seen him laugh so loudly.
It was Hendrix.
His hands were on his eyes and his mouth were open wide, a sight no one has ever seen before. This was not the Book Boy they knew.
Who are you? And what have you done with Book Boy?
Soon, Hendrix’s laughter eased, his smile lowering more and more into a straight line. Then he too slowly advanced towards the door with Payne Ignier never too far behind him.
"Indeed," Hendrix agreed, his dark inky pupils gleaming with a malevolent light. "Fear is a wonderful thing, a disgusting feeling that reveals one’s true soul... It strips away all pretense and shows us what we truly are—Beings that are not strong enough."
Reaching the door and pushing his glasses higher up the bridge of his nose, Hendrix turned his attention to the one many called Trash.
"Levon Belmont, it’s fascinating to me that you are the first to see such a simple construct, despite your current predicament."
Levon only chuckled, taking it as a compliment. However, many people still don’t understand what the 2 were talking about.
"Oh?" Yimu stepped forward, blinking her cute googly eyes at Levon. "In simple terms: are you saying that we have been free to walk out all along? So if we open the door normally, nothing will happen, right?"
"Naturally," Levon replied unhurriedly.
—A psychological attack—
Each and everyone of them have been psychologically attacked without knowing it, with the primary catalyst being Fear.
Please... he was not talking about the fear of Death.
What he referred to was the fear of getting punished, the fear of triggering other mechanisms, and the fear of using the Main front doorway to head out.
Think about it deeply.
How long have they been in this mansion? Almost everyone has experimented on countless windows in this fortitude mansion.
Yet, rather than testing the main door just once, they preferred to waste more time, searching and searching for other ways out for days, weeks and months.
Why?
Because they feared that the mechanisms on the doors might trigger something even more powerful, something that they won’t be able to escape without getting punished.
.
.
"Let me make it clear," Levon advised. "All I suspect is that the obvious answer to leaving this mansion is the door in front of us. But what lies beyond these doors, is what I’m unsure of."
Only one way to find out.
KATCHACK~
Levon had used his shard to open the door.
It’s open. It’s open.
The hands of the onlookers spasmed vigorously, as they watched the majestic door.
"What now?" Someone blurted a dumb question.
1... 2... 3... 4... 5...
Gulp~
The group stared in silence, their saliva thick and heavy on their throats.
... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10!
Several seconds went by with nothing happening.
This is it, right? This means the Trash was correct, right?
Joy was evident on their faces, but soon it turned twisted.
"So all I needed to do was just open the doors and that’s it?"
"Too despicable! You mean to tell me that I could have opened this door even after Lights Out with no repercussions? Why didn’t they tell us?"
Dammit!
Now, they felt like fools to have gotten months of punishment for nothing. Do you know that because of that, they were not allowed to enter Phase 1 of the Bloodren Competitions?
Do you know that they will only get a chance next year, all because of such a simple thing?
If they were not afraid of destroying the space around them and racking up more punishment, they would have long grown berserk from this simple realization.
At the same time, a few like Yimu and Rita, couldn’t help frowning deeply.
Since when had they become so blindly cautious?
Fufufufufu~
"That’s our leader for you," Shugo exclaimed happily, marching forward.
"Boss, I knew you could do it," Leo added., following along.
"Who said my Boss is weak? If you’re all better, then why didn’t you think of this since?" Rayna’s voice bellowed, as she placed a hand over Artilla and strolled to the front.
Once again, Levon was at the forefront, making it harder for others to keep looking down on him.
This just doesn’t make any sense! Why? Why can someone at the bottom of the food chain always mingle with those at the very top?
While many have received punishment periods that were 9 months long, Levon only received one month of punishment since his entry into the Organization.
Their skulls and shard abilities were obviously stronger, yet he somehow always managed to be one step ahead of them.
Levon Belmont...
"Hmph! So what if you are intellectually stronger? In the end, raw strength was what truly matters..."
Many muttered and scoffed hatefully.
Sooner or later, he will fall to their level... It was only a matter of time.
