I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 146: The Old vs The New...
Chapter 146: The Old vs The New...
Arc 3, Chapter 146—The Old vs The New...
.
.
After leaving the Medical center, Levon heard the one place his belly led him to—The Cafeteria.
"Buddy!!!" Shugo’s boisterous yelling engulfed his ears.
Levon threw his head to a corner, seeing all 4 familiar faces waving his way warmly.
"Hey, that’s our big Star."
"Buddy, it’s good that you’re awake!"
Leo and Shugo rushed to his side, throwing their arms around his shoulder and leading him to take a tray and head to the food service court to grab a meal.
Now he was no longer some revolting Trash that made many sneer. He was a top genius with potential stocks, one that made many feel reverence wherever he passed. Still, some could only bite their lips unwillingly, still not convinced of Levon’s present glory.
"I bet you one lifetime that this guy is a fraud."
"Hmmm! No one should screw with you! I mean, who would believe a well known trash will suddenly go strong just like that?"
"Nonsense! There’s trickery to this matter, I can feel it."
Levon, Leo, and Shugo walked amidst the murmurs, undisturbed.
It was the same old thing, even after Levon had proven yourself... Such was life.
Unlike them who started at the top, the fact that Levon started off at the bottom made many still doubtful of his superiority.
Some think it’s a fluke, others think it’s ’late’ success, meaning he can one day fall down from Grass to grace. Many chose not to express anything, only watching to see what happens next.
It’s a long way to the top.
This newfound strength of Levon... how far will he truly climb to the top when using such unstable strength. The fact that it took so long for his strength to show meant it was an unstable one.
Heh.
Many sneered, saying nothing. Only time will tell.
...
Seated with a tray of food before him, Levon listened to his group’s retellings. Apparently, the group of Old Bloodren 10s who moved in, are quite troublesome.
"When they moved in, the first thing they did was fight over who gets to sleep where."
Leo’s expression turned cold, recalling how they tried to kick him and Shugo out of their room. They failed, but turned victorious when taking over some other rooms on the 3rd floor. These days, it’s been one thing or another with these Old Bloodrens.
In Artilla’s room, one Old Bloodren girl moved in, becoming chummy with Lilian. Rayna and Artilla didn’t care about the new alliance Lilian made.
These days, Lilian has been struggling to gather people under her wing but failed. In the end, she joined this new girl’s group.
What choice did she have?
She could create a group filled with weaklings. But with the way things went in this hell hole, they’ll probably end up dying here and there, bringing her right back to square one.
Thus, her only option is joining a stronger team filled with strong people like herself who could also carry their own weight.
Almost everyone in her previous group was eliminated during the Phase 1 Competitions. Only one more person apart from herself made it through.
Lilian wasted no time abandoning this girl and hooking a much stronger group of Bloodren 10s. But the funny thing was that the girl she abandoned, also joined the same group she accepted into.
Lilian had made yet another enemy for herself, one that swore to get revenge.
In general, a team needs a minimum of 5 people. But that doesn’t mean there was a specified Maximum... Some teams were 7 and others even 9. There were even some teams with 11 people.
Pfft~
Rayna laughed heartily. "Although she hates it, what choice does she have but to sit her butt down in that group?"
Rayna continued with a sneer: "I heard she tried recruiting Old Bloodren 10s into her dead group but failed. How silly."
Rayna felt it was ridiculous. Even if Lilian had a stronger Shard than many of these Old Bloodren 10s, they still couldn’t bow their heads to some newbie who just came.
Impossible!—They’d rather drink their own piss than let a newbie lead them on. In the end, Lilian understood this, lowering her head to join another group.
Levon was amused when listening to all the gossip the group spewed. But enough about that.
After a brief glimpse at the token in his hand, Levon raised a brow in telepathic enquiry. He hadn’t pried his lips yet, but they understood his thoughts.
"That’s a Completion Token.. the only proof you’ve passed Phase 1."
Everyone smiled knowingly.
"Interesting, isn’t it?"
...
The next day began in the twinkle of an eye.
Apparently, while he was passed out in the Medical Colony, Shugo and the others experienced the week’s Night Drill.
If one can recall, they only get Night Drills once a week.
2 days ago, the Night Drill commenced at the very start of the week. So for the next 5 days, they have nothing to worry about... at least until the next week begins.
Soon, Levon and his group headed to class after a hefty meal.
"GIVE IT BACK!" ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
At the door, a few Old Bloodren 10s were reading another, waving his Badge in his face.
Hey... it was a Pile-4 shard guy. He too passed the Phase 2 competitions.
"Don’t screw with me!" He exploded in fury, but dared not attack. Indoors, fighting was prohibited. And even if he charged in to attack, he’d only get his ass kicked and stringed to a pulp.
These Old Bloodren 10s who have long lined in mannerless surroundings, were so rude and Shrewish. They waved the weakling’s Token, taunting him without end.
"Oh? How sad. Is the little baby going to cry now?"
"Pfft. I think he will."
Bahahahhahaha~
Levon walked past the disturbing group and headed into class with the others. It was none of their business.
Soon, it was time for Class. Levon scanned the classroom again, deep in thought.
When they originally came, they were 153 Bloodren 10’s. Then, a few died during the first Night Drill.
Following this, many fell into long-period Punishments , automatically disqualifying them from partaking in the Phase 1 competitions.
Even during the competitions, others annoyed people like Phix and Clara, leading to even more disqualifying.
Their numbers dropped like flies... but then, the Old Bloodren 10s came, some who have been Bloodren 10s for 1 year, 2 years, others for 4 and even 5.
This meant that in total, 224 people fought during the Phase 1 competitions.
There were a total of 112 Matches, some matches ending in winnings and others ending in Draws.
Levon counted no less than 181 Bloodren 10s gathered, most being Old Bloodrens.
Many Old Bloodrens were paired with each other during the Matches. It seems they were able to fight tooth and bone, no one wanting to stay back any longer.
Only 25% of Old Bloodrens were paired with new Bloodrens. In the end, Levon only counted at most 73 familiar faces from his New group.
’181, huh...’ Levon noted. And while deep in his thoughts, a familiar figure quietly walked in.
"INSTRUCTOR WINHEST!" someone bellowed, shocking even Winhest himself.
Who is bold?
"Instructor WINHEST," the speaker continued." They’ve taken my Completion TOKEN!"
"_" [WINHEST]
The speaker was the poor unfortunate guy who had his Token taken.
"And then what?" WINHEST sneered, unhurriedly walking to the center of the room. "What do you expect me to do?"
His situation doesn’t concern Winhest a goddamn much. So why should he care?
"But Instructor–"
Whoosh!~
The unfortunate Bloodren found himself mercilessly blasted out, landing on his butt outside the classroom, with a terror stricken face.
WINHEST didn’t even look his way.
"Pray tell, class... what exactly have you been told about these tokens?"
"Proof." One of the bullies answered with a smile, while casually tossing the unfortunate guy’s token up and down their palms.
"Instructor WINHEST, we’ve been told the Token serves as our only Proof that we completed Phase 1." Another bully answered.
"Good." WINHEST chuckled darkly. "In case some of you have brains too dense to grasp your situation—know that without the Token, you’re not qualified to go through Phase 2!"
Levon gripped his token tighter, as did many others.
They had already understand this truth earlier. But hearing it from WINHEST made him extra cautious than before.
WINHEST ’s words caused an explosion in their minds, one that made their toes curl and their hairs stand erect.
"So even after all the efforts we made into winning the competitions, we won’t go through without these tokens?"
"Yeah... I guess so."
Many whispered, swallowing so loud even WINHEST could hear their throats struggle.
"I regret not tossing this token into my locker.... Anything can happen on the way back Home. So what if they gang up on me then?"
"Yeah, you’ve got a point. Anything can happen along the way back home. And with these troublesome Old 10s, it’s hard to say if they won’t cause us any trouble."
