I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 145: A Ball To Remember
Chapter 145: A Ball To Remember
Arc 3, Chapter 145 — A Ball To Remember.
.
.
Perfume was in the air, and the crystal chandeliers still hung frozen tears that glistened even in the now bright room.
The golden bathed room allowed for a more magical scenery filled with laughter, seduction, money, and promise.
In the eyes of the many guests, the Ball was a grand success even though it was just starting.
So GOOD~
The greedy guests fell in love with these people of ethereal beauty. Some forgot they were married, and others also forgot they had boyfriends and girlfriends.
Are you single?—yes... Yes a million times over.
Everything was perfect. They all felt they had stumbled into a dream they never wished to wake up from. After all, how can it possibly end when they haven’t truly hooked any big Fish yet?
Whether male or female, they felt like Cinderella’s, meeting their Princesses and Prince charmings... But just like in the fairytale, once the clock struck midnight, the spell faded.
DUNG~
The Massive Grandfather clock rang loudly and then the lights went out.
Eh? Was this part of the show?
Many were relaxed and in amusement, with the only light source being the faint bluish hues of the moon that streamed in through the maggitic floor to ceiling window walls.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!" A voice at the forefront bellowed, a rich but commanding voice that pulled everyone’s attention to the front.
There, Passima, Thaddeus, and their group had arrived.
The host smirked, placing one hand on his chest in a bow while slowly backing away and making room for them.
Passima chuckled meaningfully. "It’s good to see you all." She began. "There have been rumors, but no official confirmation yet. I know many of you are anxious, and so let me be the first to put your minds at ease."
"The Emperor is awake, and Zion will appear soon enough too."
"That said, tonight’s feast is for you.... To congratulate you all on a job well DONE. And now, we feast!"
Eh?... The Emperor? Zion? Was that a nickname some rich guy liked to go by?
In the crowd, many were confused by her words, only smiling when she mentioned feasting.
Hey, when will they bring the food out? Where are the tables? Are they supposed to stand while eating? Soon, they watched as a few catering butlers came out pushing trolleys.
Thaddeus grinned, slowly descending a few flights of stairs towards one of the catering butlers. His eyes were locked on his target, causing some to feel jealous.
Why wasn’t it then he was looking at so intensely?
Thaddeus’s steps were poise and unhurried. And then, right before everyone, he caressed a servant boy, confusing the boy himself.
The boy was confused why he didn’t put up a fight, since he liked women and no men. After regaining his sanity, he tried to pull away, but felt something stir in him.
Could... could it be that he was actually attracted to this breathtaking man?
?????
The boy felt his body yearn for Thaddeus’s touch. But the next thing he knew, he saw his own blood squirt like a fountain from his neck. He didn’t even feel pain when it happened.
What... What...
This was something no one expected. This was something that ordinary people found hard to process.
(Silence)
The music had died down, and all mortal eyes focused on the scene with empty thoughts.
1... 2... 3...
Chaos finally proceeded.
AHHHHH!
Panic erupted when seeing Thaddeus lower mouth painted in blood.
His appearance has changed slightly, with fangs now protruding dangerously as he kept biting and sucking the boy dry.
"Psychopaths! Psychopaths!"
RUN! RUN! RUN!
No one’s first thoughts were vampires, but that there were psychopaths or cannibals here who loved eating human flesh. But soon their thoughts changed when seeing the supernatural abilities of these Psychopaths.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I?
Vampires descended upon the group of mortals with predatory grace. There was no escaping. Their fangs pierced skin as the mortals screamed throughout the darkness.
Blood flowed freely, staining the silk gowns and tuxedos of their victims. There was panic everywhere.
—And when the lights flicked back moments later, only silence remained. The mortals laid lifeless on the polished marble floors, their faces frozen in terror. But not for too long.
In a moment or 2, they will awake as GHOULS!
.
.
Like so, the vampires continued making their move across the vast chess game they had against the Church.
But what did all this have to do with Levon now?
Mmmm....
With a gentle moan, Levon’s brows furrowed. Soon he opened his eyes, recognizing the room he was in. This was the same room he woke from after the entrance examinations.
Looking far above him, he could see those medical Slimes squirming about on the ceiling.
’The last thing I recall was...’
[Human Levon,] Yaeger’s voice interrupted his thoughts. However, it was weak and frail. Levon felt an ominous grip tug in his heart.
[Human Levon, you’re finally awake.]
[Both you and the Victorio human passed out after your final move.]
Yaeger had to admit that the duo went over and beyond, exhausting all strength in them till they fainted. Had Levon been fighting that way from the start, he and Victorio might have ended up in a TIE.
Sadly, because Levon got beaten up for the better half of the match, he had more injuries than Victorio.
Thus, the winner of that Round was Victorio Louche.
Levon nodded in understanding as Yaeger briefly mentioned the events he missed. Fortunately, he won by default during the first match. So he was still qualified to enter Phase 2.
That being said, if he didn’t prove himself during this last Battle his defaulted victory might have been cancelled. But after the show he put on, no one would think him undeserving.
Levon shrugged, satisfied with the Match results.
His primary focus was on Yaeger.
’It seems I went overboard?’
[Hmmm...] Yaeger hummed weakly. [It appears you’re not so daft.]
Though Yaeger’s voice was calm, he was inwardly shocked by how Levon could survive what he put his body through.
[It was dangerous, what you did.... Yet you survived.]
This human’s body was special.
The second seal... without knowing it, Levon had become slowly peeling off and leaking the second seal on Yaeger’s body. Yaeger warned Levon, but this madman didn’t seem to listen. It was best to say that in the heat of the money, Yaeger’s voice seemed drowned out.
’Is see.’ Levon nodded. ’In other words, I fainted because my body wasn’t strong enough to conquer the power I was unsealing.’
[Yes.] Yaeger answered weakly. [The 2nd seal is still half open... I’m going into slumber.]
As it stood right now, Yaeger knew he wouldn’t be waking until Levon completely unseals the 2nd seal. And to do this, his body will also need to catch up to the current strength brooding within him.
Levon closed his eyes, focusing on meeting Yaeger face to face. But when he finally arrived, he was met with the slumbering feline who couldn’t wake no matter what he did or said.
That’s it. Yaeger had gone to sleep.
For how long, Levon was uncertain.
Soon, he heard footsteps, sending his consciousness out.
Oh?
Levon hasn’t met this person before. It was a bald-headed man who looked no older than 29.
"You’re awake," he began, his tone casual. "Now, let’s get you checked and gone."
Levon said nothing, preparing himself for the usual ’check.’
Sure enough, he was taken to the skies again, and absorbed by the gooey slime.
In the meantime, the youthful looking man below frowned thoughtfully. ’Levon Belmont... What’s going on with his body?’
Villeta wasn’t around, as she was called out on an abrupt mission. She left him in his hands. And only when he received his checks did he realize how bizarre the Slimes reacted whenever they stuck to Levon’s body.
What is it that excites them? It’s been 4 days since Levon fainted. Yet, Victorio was awake on his feet after a few hours.
Honestly, he wished he could hack and pry Levon’s body open to see just what it was that made this guy special.
"No wonder the Head asked me to watch over him."
Lieutenant Hex had to admit there was more to Levon than what met the eyes. He had heard of this peculiar trash who now turned into a genius overnight.
.
.
~Whoosh!
Levon was dropped down after the Slimes were done with him. But unlike the first time when Villeta used her web strings to save him... Levon knew he could only rely on himself.
His katana appeared and expanded, catching him and gently taking him down. Hex was watching with his hands behind his back.
Heh.
Want him to rescue you? No way!!!
He might have been given the job of taking care of Levon medically. But that job ended the moment the gooey slimes informed him that Levon had woken up.
Now on his feet, Levon took the attire Hex threw at him. It was the same uniformed attire he was used to wearing.
"Congratulations." Hex began. "Here."
Levon looked at the peculiar Token Badge in silence.
?????
What was this badge for?
Hex didn’t answer or speak more on the matter... However, Levon had a hunch he would soon find out.
