I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 144: The Blood Line!
Chapter 144: The Blood Line!
Arc 3, Chapter 144 — The Blood Line!
.
.
Some say the best part of waking is seeing the daylight.
All good things happen in the daylight.
Such an old saying has been told from generation to generation.
Many think they know why it must be daytime for good times to come.
They might say it’s because business hours mostly operate when the sun is out.
But was that really the case?
**********
In a dimly lit space, only candles illuminated the figures gathered.
The moderate space was a masterpiece of gothic architecture. The air was heavy with the scent of aged wood and iron, mingling with the falling metallic tang of blood.
There in the room, a massive obsidian table stretched across the center, its surface polished to a mirror-like sheen... However, no reflections could be seen.
Around the table, sat a gathering of peculiar entities. Their faces, though pale, reflected their unnatural beauty that looked ethereal.
Duke Thaddeus was a man with a portly figure. "The Emperor Stirs, and you all know what that means."
His voice was calm and relaxed. And in the dimly lit room, his crimson eyes glimmered as he leaned forward. "The crusade will begin soon."
Across from him sat another being, known to all as Archduchess Passima.
As usual, she wore a black hat with a veil dropping over it. Her veil was only long enough to cover her eyes and her nose, leaving her delectable mouth exposed.
Her Long red nails were a stark contact to her overly pearly white skin, a feature she loved greatly.
Passima swirled the goblet of blood lazily, allowing the liquid to catch the dim lights like rubies. She was the one heading this meeting, the one in charge of the group before her.
"With our Dark Lord awake, the crusade will commence just as Duke Thaddeus has mentioned. But are you all prepared?"
"Naturally, Archduchess." Many nodded.
"The ghouls are scattered about, attacking just as commanded." Someone added.
"As planned, their focus will now be on the Black Nun order. At this point, those Vatican dogs won’t know what hit them once the Crusade begins."
"Good..." Passima’s lips curled into a smirk. "As for Zion..."
She paused, her grip tightening on her goblet until it cracked. Well, she was too excited.
"Remember, we will only begin Phase 2 once Zion... The Emperor’s awaited Zion, truly emerges."
Fufufufufufu~
They all smiled, knowing that ZION was their key turning stone in the war ahead.
Speaking of this Zion fellow, to prepare for his coming, they must of course lay out the cards for him to make his journey smoother.
Passima leaned forward with a heavy aura. "In times like these, it’s paramount you all keep in touch with matters concerning the Blood Line."
...
Ah yes~
The Blood Line...
You see, ordinary humans think the world is as it is on their little maps and visual technologies.
Even if humans go to space and capture footage of the world they live in, it still wont show the Blood Line.
The Bloodline was a mysterious camouflaging ability that no ordinary human can find. Yet, it was right there in plain sight.
But what exactly is this Blood Line?
Well, it was a rift... a veil created eons ago, the one that allowed their Master, the first ever Vampire, to break through the shackles of the underworld and crawl up into the human world.
The veil stretches out for 1.75 MILLION Kilometers.
Do the math, that also shows how massive the human planet was. It was the largest planet in the Rygoze Solar system.
The veil ran was also 73 Thousand Kilometers wide.
Mind you, some planets have a 40,000 km equator circumference. This alone should tell you just how WIDE this human planet they were on was.
So in conclusion, the Blood Line was a line that ran for 1.75 Million Kilometers and was also 73,000 Kilometers wide.
The Blood Line was a world of its own, and whenever any mortals try approaching it, they are met with hurricanes and all sorts of natural disasters.
Have you heard of Bermuda’s triangle? Why do you think it’s a place where no one can sail to?
Have you ever heard of Devil’s lair? A place that for some unscientific reason, spits out fires of molten lava that no technology can survive?
Even if they wanted to send drones or underwater objects, it’s no use. Nothing works and nothing can be seen on the other side.
But why are these unnatural incidents not displaced on the images from space?
Well, in a way, they sort of were... since the planet’s images ALWAYS show a thick ring of clouds and mist around these areas.
It was like a natural coat of camouflage too thick for the current technology to pierce through.
In the end, the Blood Line is protected by Typhoons and all sorts of maniacal matters that drive everyone away.
One should never forget that the rift is literally the connecting point between the underworld and the Human world. So although it has been sealed up, its presence still makes the nearby surfaces outside the Blood Line to tremble and shake in chaos.
Any continents close to the Blood Line in the past, have strangely drifted away faster than what could be scientifically explained.
The only land surfaces around the Blood Line are those in it!
In the Bloodline, there are places even they, as vampires, won’t dare you build their headquarters in. Those places are called the—Inhabitables.
During the great war eons ago, these Inhabitables were unfortunately tainted with Holy Aura That continuously burns their skins and threatens to turn them into ashes when they step in.
It’s all the fault of that great Human Defender, the one who many ordinary mortals now call the Son of God.
Pfft~
What bloody Son of God?
That Human Defender was only an ordinary human who happened to get trained by the Church and became the strongest Vampire Slayer of all time.
That was it.
The stories people hear in the outside world are just stories crafted by the Church to give an explanation for the great war that unfortunately took place not only in the Blood Line, but also went out into the human domain.
It’s only because too many humans saw the war eons ago, that the church decided to craft stories to fool the massive.
One must understand that in those days, humans were far more gullible than now, and believed in any religion to tell them to. There were some humans who worshipped bulls, others worshiped statues of chairs, and so on.
Thus, it wasn’t difficult for the church to convince the masses.
All in all, the places they called Inhabitables, were places no vampire in the Blood One would dare to reside in.
There are also places they call the Mutuals—places shared by both the church and them.
And then, there are places called the Habitables—areas that the church owns. In conclusion, these were places they could colonize.
As of now, the church owns 57% of the habitable regions while they only own 43%.
That’s right, the many Organizations and Orders... all resided in the BLOOD LINE!
"Before Zion comes, the Master has instructed that the Habitable land in the far Crimson East must be taken away from the Church..." Passima narrowed her gaze, looking at nothing in particular. "WE NEED THIS LAND."
Everyone nodded thoughtfully.
Soon, their conversation was concluded, shifting onto other matters for tonight.
"Well now, we’ve been here for quite too long."
"Indeed, we are the main hosts for tonight. So wouldn’t it be bad manners to keep our guests waiting for so long?"
Soon, the group walked towards a staircase leading to the GRAND HALL.
.
.
Beauty might be in the eyes of the beholder, but everyone universally agreed that the hall was a divine work of art.
With unhurried steps, the group arrived at the exclusive party, held in an opulent mansion in the far, far outskirts of Pemberton City.
Goodness!
The ballroom was dazzling—chandeliers dripping with crystals that bathed everything in a golden light. The ball was in full swing, as many danced blissfully, unaware of their impending doom.
"I’m so happy I came out tonight."
"Exactly! Why not try our luck at catching a big fish, then go to the club to catch some little boy’s chicken change?"
"Money! These people must be squirming in money!"
"Just imagine having a baby with one? No, won’t I be set for life if it happens?"
Everything seemed wonderfully... wonderfully grand. And many couldn’t hide the greed flashing in their eyes.
They wanted wealth. Wealth beyond their wildest dreams.
And for the better half of the night, it was going on quite well.
They listened to some rich men and women speak about the wealth, properties and the estates they had under their belts.
Some even got precious rubies and gems given to them as tokens just for listening to their conversations.
MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!
The eyes of many flashed greedily, as they planned to become a part of high-end society.
But what they didn’t know was that underneath the glamour and wealth, laid a much darker reality.
