I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 28
Chapter 28: Chapter 28
"Seriously, I can’t believe what I’m reading right now," I mumbled to myself.
Raphael was supposed to be a hero, famous for his successful mission and saving ten of his colleagues. He should have been promoted to at least Advanced Grade 4. His sister, Angela, should be bragging about him constantly. That’s how it was supposed to go, not this mess!
And the Rakshesha’s mark? That was supposed to show up way later, like in Season 15!
’This is bad,’ I thought.
The Rakshesha’s Mark has a three-year incubation period. If it hatches inside Raphael, the current Cypher won’t be able to beat it. Even if Cypher gets stronger, he’d never be able to kill his best friend.
Sure, an Apex Hero, the highest rank, could handle it, but they’re all gone. Even if they sent Elite-ranked Heroes, they’d need at least ten of them to take it down.
I couldn’t let that happen. Those Heroes are going to be crucial later on.
There’s only one way. The host has to die. I have at least two years to make it happen. freēwēbnovel.com
Nobody would believe me if I told them the truth anyway. The Rakshesha’s mark is practically undetectable, even with top-of-the-line gear. They’d just think I was crazy and lock me up.
I can’t just sit here. He absolutely has to die for the original story to stay on track.
"...I have to kill him," I whispered, the words tasting like ash.
With a heavy sigh, I closed my eyes. Killing monsters and rogues was one thing, but a human? I don’t know if I can. Maybe I need to become a mercenary myself?
Anxiety started to bubble up as I realized I was actually starting to like this idea. I never expected to meet my second favorite character by having to kill him.
I stood up, my body feeling unusually heavy today.
Macaron, sensing my sudden shift in mood, looked at me with concern. "Master? Are you okay?"
I didn’t answer and just checked the time. 12:06 AM. My feet automatically moved towards the door. Macaron quickly followed, perching on my shoulder.
"You know, Master, maybe I’ll tag along for now. I’m a little bored here anyway," Macaron said.
"You’re such a good boy," I replied, feeling my mood lighten a bit. "But you should go out the window. There might still be students around."
I gently stroked his head before he flew out the window, and I headed towards the training facility.

Monster Hunting Class: Catacomb Expedition
This catacomb was built by the Academy to mimic the feel of real dungeons, packed with dark magic. It was crawling with monsters that are usually seen in catacomb dungeons. My usual team – Whitney, Jawn, Junichi, Gregg, and I – entered the dark space, each carrying a torch.
As we pushed deeper, the path became thick with dark mana, making it tough to see and even harder for our torches to cut through.
"Gregg, Junichi, and Jawn. Anything?" Whitney snapped, her voice sharp.
"Uh... nope," Gregg replied.
"Nothing here either," Junichi added.
"..." As always, Jawn stayed silent.
I rolled my eyes. She didn’t even bother to include me. I still don’t get why she doesn’t see me as part of the team.
I cleared my throat. "Let me lead the way today. I can see clearly."
Thanks to my modified abilities, the path was as clear as daylight to me. Whitney whipped her head around, glaring, though her glare landed on Gregg, who was standing in front of me.
"Stop messing around," Whitney suddenly snapped at Gregg, catching me off guard. She was probably pertaining that to me.
Whitney turned her back on us. Gregg immediately looked at the rest of us, silently mouthing "What? Me?" while pointing at himself. The three of us just quietly snickered at him.
After a while, Whitney still wouldn’t give up and just kept walking.
Since their vision in the dark was so poor, I was the only one who could see we were just walking in circles. I couldn’t help but throw out a sarcastic comment. "Yeah, sure, keep going that way and we’ll just waste more time."
"What utter nonse— ack!" Just as she was speaking, she tripped and went face-first into the ground. She scrambled back up, wiping off her face, and turned to me with an embarrassed look.
I gave her a smug smile. "Told ya~" ’That’s what you get for being so stubborn,’ I thought to myself.
Whitney cleared her throat awkwardly. "Fine, if you have good eyes, then lead the way!"
"Could have said that earlier," I retorted. "We might have been out of here by now."
"Alright everyone, stick close to me. I’ll let you know if I spot any monsters," I announced, taking charge.
"Take care of us then," Gregg said, clapping a hand on my shoulder like we were buddies. I shrugged it off as I started walking forward.
My job was simple: walk, avoid monsters, and point out anything that needed dealing with. I didn’t have to lift a finger in combat; they handled the heavy lifting while I just guided us to success.
If we ran into a Grubber – a roughly humanoid creature made of packed dirt, roots, and even moss – Whitney would handle it. If it was a Crawler, a monster made entirely of fused bones, Gregg and Junichi were on it. Jawn, meanwhile, was in charge of the Shadow Moths – giant moths with a long, sharp proboscis that could pierce or drain energy.
My stats had climbed up thanks to training every night, so our pace was much quicker than before. We were running and walking faster than ever. Because of this, we actually managed to reach the center of the labyrinth. There, we only saw ten other people – Cypher and Edge’s team.
For the first time ever, we had at least made it to third place.
"Whitney?" Edge, who was perched on a large rock, called out as he spotted us.
"Ohh? Edge!" Whitney’s voice suddenly became saccharine sweet and a little higher pitched.
She practically skipped over to him, beaming. The way she treated everyone else versus Edge was so obvious. It was clear to everyone that she liked him, either Edge was completely oblivious or just pretending not to notice.
"Over here," Instructor Jude, who was waiting in the center, called out to us.
Since our designated leader was preoccupied with Edge, I was the one who approached him.
"Team 7. Your time is forty-five minutes and ten seconds. Third place," Instructor Jude announced.
I relayed the results to my group, and Gregg and Junichi practically exploded with joy, grabbing my hands and even dragging a reluctant Jawn into a happy, chaotic circle dance.
"Woohoo! It’s all thanks to you! You really do have great vision!" Gregg cheered, his voice full of excitement.
"Who has great vision?!" Junichi yelled back, playing along.
"Remi!"
"Remi!"
Gregg and Junichi stopped their dancing and looked at Jawn with wide, expectant eyes.
Jawn sighed, almost whispering. "Remi..."
"Woohoo!" The two cheered again, even louder this time.
I just laughed and let them have their moment. We were making enough noise to definitely disturb the other two teams who were already there.
After a few more seconds, I sat down on the ground with them. I can’t help but observe everyone. Whitney hadn’t come back yet, and I noticed that Cypher was asleep on the ground. He probably was still wiped out from using his Gift at the gallery the other day.
After another ten minutes, Angela’s team arrived in fourth place.
As they entered, Whitney approached Angela, putting on a show of being happy to see her. Angela, however, completely ignored Whitney and locked her gaze directly onto me.
