"I want Guragan antidote, do you have it?"

His left eyebrow rises a little.

"I do have that, but what do I get?"

"You could discuss that with the village chief. I need to antidote."

Their eyes met with each other, Egul was cold, and his arm needed to be healed as fast as possible. The doctor was not about to waste his time taking.

"OK.. come in."

The man inside lit the oil lamp he had with him and placed it close to his bag. Egul excuses himself internally. The inside of the man’s room does not resemble a doctor’s room. It looks like a typical village room, with only a bed and a few chairs.

"I’m a wandering doctor, treating people in the countryside. So there may not be a good setup for me, but my skills are more than adequate."

The doc rummaged through his bad hand searching for the right vial.

"Is it this one?.... maybe not...."

He mutters as he rummages glass after glass of strangely colored liquid. Egul is beginning to worry. The man doesn’t appear to know what he’s doing, and even his tribe’s doctor has a potion label. It is impossible that the Empire doctor would not engage in this practice.

This means that the guy is not likely an empire-approved medic. Which is worrying. His right arm was on the line here.

"Could you hurry up?"

Egul inquired. He could hold the barrier in his arm indefinitely, but his arm would not last forever. His blood hasn’t been circulating for quite some time. If this continues, he will eventually lose his arm.

"Don’t rush me! What if I get it wrong?..."

"....."

The guy continues to be very casual about all of this which makes Egul a bit restless. "Look my arm is about to be no good, do you have this antidote or not?"

"Let me see... Umm, this one is a little too green..... Found it!"

The man fishes out a vial of dark green liquid.

"Wait, didn’t you aid that that one was too green? This one is greener than that one..."

"Don’t question my expertise, It’s a differnt shade of green. You wouldn’t know"

"I’m not doing this...."

Egul felt more and more uncertain about this doctor. He wasn’t gonna let this man inject a suspicious green liquid into his body.

"Hey, don’t act like that. If you leave now, you won’t be able to find another antidote. You have quite a lethal poison there. It’s a miracle that you’re still alive, and it’s even more amazing that you found me. We’re in Duranberg, so no other doctor in another small village will have a supply of this antidote because the Guragan snake is indigenous to Guragua."

The doctor said with a smile.

"So it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter a cure."

"....."

Egul couldn’t deny this. It’s either he gets it or loses his arm. He makes a difficult decision and chooses to trust this shady doctor.

"Fine, let’s do it."

"You made the right decision, Now lay down and let me look at the wound."

Egulobedaintly lay on the bed, his big body sinking inside the hard cushion. Barely even fit inside the bed frame. The doctor looks on with glee, he begins inspecting the right arm of Egul. Looking for a potential danger and discover that it’s not a snake bite.

"You ran into some nasty stuff here my friend. But it’s nothing I could fix"

The doctor feels his way around the knife wound and transfers the green liquid into the syringe, then injects it into Egul’s body.

"Kgh"

Egul let out an unexpected groan. It’s surprisingly hurt more than he expected. the green liquid spread inside the arm. Even if his blood doesn’t circulate there anymore he could still feel his whole arm burning up.

"Do you feel it itty bitty burning?"

"Yes..."

"Congrats! That means it’s working. You’ll be back to normal in no time! Just wait for 10 minutes before unclogging your blood. Then ta-da, you’ll be cured."

Egul still does not trust this guy, but he has to accept the fact that he had the liquid injected into his body. The burning sensation persisted as the cure began to work within his body.

Then, a little later, his hand felt more relieved than usual. Egul began to move his hand, and he felt it return to normal.

"Told you it’s working!"

The doctor smiles watching Egul heal in real time. The antidote works fat in eliminate the poison left inside his body.

"What is this?"

However, Egul has some questions, which is not typical. He had been the Guragan antidote before, and he knew it wouldn’t work this quickly. It would take at least an hour for the person to recover, and they would still have to deal with the poison’s aftermath.

His friend who got a bite was described as feeling heavy all the time. This does not feel like the antidote that he knows of.

"Oh right! That’s my original recipe"

"What..."

"Yep! I just mix in a new antidote that would work better. I have been trying to find the people to get this on for ages. People usually die before you even get the ue an antidote on them you know? So thank you!"

"So you used your prototype on me?" Egul couldn’t help but doubt the guy even more

"Yep!"

Egul moves his hand to grab a hold of the doctor’s collar.

"What if it doesn’t work?" Egul inquired, his voice growing cold. It is possible that the antidote will not work. And he had to take that risk only moments ago. He holds the doctor with his caring hand. The doctor’s white coat flutter in the air as his whole body lift up.

"But it does"

"I would have punched you to pieces."

"Look, I don’t deal with what-ifs here. I deal in absolutes. Besides, if I didn’t give you the antidote, you’d have to cut your arm anyway. You should be relieved that it is working. This cure would save countless lives that have been ruined by such a venomous snake. So the person after you will have evidence that this works.

All medical procedures and cures require a first person to test them out, and you happen to be that person. By this standard, you’re quite fortunate because first people don’t usually survive."
