Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 207: Finding antidote
The living quarters in this cathedral are far superior to those in Tuminus. First and foremost, they no longer need to be underground. They have their own building adjacent to the cathedral. The structure is mostly made of wood, and Reeva could tell it had been a long time since they renovated this place.
However, it thing still holds up pretty well. Its looks and feel are way more comfortable than those of the underground dungeon of Tumidus church.
Going inside, Reeva saw a hallway lined with rooms for each priest they had. Reeva was led to another area of the building where they keep their guests. He was instructed to make himself at home for the time being
The priest assigned to let him in was clearly perplexed. A person labeled as a heretic is staying in their guest room. Even a noble might not receive this treatment if they discovered he was a heretic. Reeva was a nobody after his father disowned him.
However, right now he was getting good treatment as per Plutus’ order.
When they drop him off, they quickly close and lock the door. Reeva sighs at the petty action that keeps him in this room. They should have noticed by now that Reeva is receiving special treatment from the high priest. However, they have not used their brain to think yet. Their feelings come first.
Reeva lay in his bed, thinking of a possible outcome for tomorrow.
------------
Egul arrived at the village, which was small and only had a wooden fence to keep predators out. He arrived and looked around the village, it was nighttime, and everyone was inside their houses.
There’s some guard outside the village on their wooden watch tower, keeping an eye on the night forest.
But Egul doesn’t have time to waste, so he sneaks inside using his ridiculous speed. Slipping past the defense and straight to the most prestigious house in the village. Most likely, a village chief lives there and knows a doctor or has an antidote. He searches for the bedroom. and found it without much trouble.
The window was not locked and he let himself in.
"Wake up"
"It.. still dark outside...."
"Wake up"
"Honey, it.....AGHGHGHGHGHGH"
The village chief who is sleeping with his wife woke up to a horrifying sight. A man standing beside him, looking over his bed. His scream alone could wake up the entire neighborhood. The closest house and the person in the chief house all wake up.
"What’s going on!"
The chief wife, who is sleeping beside him, snaps her eyes wide open. She’s ready to slap the old man for disturbing her sleep. But before she could, her gaze fell on the uninvited guest, prompting her to scream.
If the first scream were enough to wake the whole neighborhood then this scream would wake the whole village.
"Who are you!? How did you get here!?"
"Do you have Guragan snake antidote?"
"I don’t have any! Get out of my place now!"
The old man’s village chief wasn’t taking any of this, the guy came here uninvited and demanded a very rare antidote. There’s no way in hell that he’d give it to the man.
"I’m in a hurry, Do you have it or not?"
Egul didn’t change his tone of voice, speaking casually with the village chief, but this time his words were full of killing intent. Even the most dumb person would not take it lightly. The village chief felt that pressure upon him.
After the initial surprise and anger subsided, the village chief realized he was in a bad situation. A guy who can get in here without causing a scene outside is probably a good assassin. And he just offended the man.
His burly body towers over the bed, making him such more menacing when talking to. Village Chief quickly changes his tune when he realizes what condition he’s in.
"On second thought, we do have the antidote.... but it is rather rare."
"How much?"
Egul throws a bag at the elderly man. It wasn’t a large bag, but the moment it hit the bed and the contents spilled, the old man realized he wasn’t dealing with an ordinary person. Egul throws a bag containing gold coins at them.
As the village chief, it was not every day that you’d see a gold coin. This is like a boon in disguise.
"Village chief are you OK!"
Hearing the scream the other people gather outside of the house. Ready to help the old man. The village chief stumbles outside.
"Great timing! is that doctor still around?" The village chief beam.
"Um... I think we need to check. Why would you need it?"
"This gentleman over here have a need for it and fast."
The village chief said quickly introducing Egul to the others. The village people look skeptical.
"Just bring me to him"
New novel chapt𝒆rs are published on ƒгeewebnovёl.com.
Standing over them, Egul is much taller than most people. That alone provided enough intimidation to elicit a response from the villagers. The majority of them never leave the village, much less see a knight.
So a guy with this physics is bound to have some special background. The man who knew the doctor aid in a hurry.
"This way sir!"
Seeing the village chief being friendly with the man, they thought they could go along with this. The man leads the village chief to one of the houses nearby. Knocking on the door, a woman came out to greet them.
After a bit of talking the woman let them in. Turns out, she was not the doctor Egul was after. The middle-aged woman led them to another room and knocked on them. A bit later it opens up revealing a person inside.
One man came out of the room, he looked around to see the imposing figure of Egul but his reaction was different from the other people.
"What do you want?"
He inquired in a slightly annoyed tone. per that emerged from the door was a man who had long, messy black hair that hadn’t been cut in a while and a scar on the corner of his mouth.
