Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer-Chapter 294: First Floor Admin (1)
Chapter 294: First Floor Admin (1)
Watching her people being slaughtered was driving the leader to the brink. Unable to bear it any longer, she leapt into the fight against Adrian. Unfortunately, it was her biggest mistake. In an instant, Adrian slashed her throat, ending the battle swiftly.
The leader had been confident that Adrian wouldn’t kill her. Given her position and link to Olympus. Unfortunately, that’s where she underestimated Adrian.
He didn’t care about having her as a witness. Besides, doing things by the book would just cause him a lot of trouble, and that was the last thing he wanted. His way of dealing with the mess was faster and much easier than anyone would expect.
<...That’s it!?>
’You expected it to end with fireworks or something?’ freēwēbηovel.c૦m
<No, but I thought they’d be tougher.>
Adrian looked around the room. The floor was littered with corpses, and blood marred every surface it could reach. It was a battlefield in the genuine sense of the word.
However, as he watched the poachers, he realised they weren’t all that tough. Their strength was in their numbers, and now it had turned against them. There wasn’t much to them.
Although Adrian didn’t show surprise, he felt disappointed. He couldn’t believe a group like theirs had terrorised the first floor.
’Maybe Olympus and the floor admin took advantage of them as disposable fools.’
<We should get going then. The admin must be aware of what was happening here.>
But Adrian shook his head. It would be a shame to not loot the cave before leaving. Despite their pitiful strength, people still considered the poachers a rich group. They must have loot scattered all around their base.
"Let’s wrap things up while they are busy."

A man draped in a dark cloak stood silently, surveying the scene before him. The ground soaked in blood, and he could see corpses as far as his eyes could reach.
It wasn’t a hideout anymore. Someone had turned it into a graveyard for the poachers. The man kept looking at the heaps of corpses, wondering who could’ve committed such a massacre. But there were no clues... almost as if they had killed each other.
His eyes burned with fury as he took in the ruined remnants of what had once been his thriving operation.
The poachers he had painstakingly cultivated over the years, investing hundreds of thousands of points into their training and equipment, were now nothing more than lifeless husks. His money-making enterprise lay in shambles, destroyed in the blink of an eye.
What frustrated him even more was that he couldn’t figure out who might mess with Olympus’ affairs. They had too many enemies, but none of them had ever dared to face them as it would cause a war within the tower and no one wanted that.
Just then, a group of his subordinates rushed in, their faces pale with fear. How could they not be afraid of their lord’s legendary anger? All they had was bad news to deliver and knew one wrong word would cost them their heads.
"Sir," one of them began, "we believe someone raided the base. There’s nothing left. No weapons, no potions, no money. Everything is gone."
"Nothing is left?" he repeated, his eyes narrowed as rage bubbled to the surface. "Everything... is gone?"
"Yes-"
Unable to contain his anger any longer, he swung his hand in an arc. A moment later, he swung his hand in an arc, slashing a dozen of his subordinates into thousands of pieces, causing their bodies to disintegrate into the blood and gore that already stained the ground. The rest of the group recoiled in terror, not daring to move or speak.
"Find them," the man snarled with deadly intent. "Find those rascals who dared challenge me and kill those who dared to cross Bellerophon!"
The remaining subordinates bowed quickly, too frightened to say anything. They scrambled away, desperate to avoid the same fate as their fallen comrades.
Bellerphone, still seething with anger, turned and walked away from the gruesome scene. His mind was already plotting his next move, determined to hunt down whoever was responsible for this destruction.

The first Adrian did after returning to the city was to look for an inn. Thankfully, he found one run by a centaur couple and reserved a room for a week using points.
After getting settled in his room, Adrian opened his inventory to check out what he had found. There were a lot of different currency bills, which he had bundled up together.
Even though Adrian didn’t know their exact value, he was sure they were worth a lot of money, since they were all he found in the poacher’s hideout.
Next came the gear. Since the poachers targeted rich players, they had quite a decent bit of loot on them. But once again, he wasn’t aware of their worth in terms of the tower.
’I would have to visit the market to learn more about the price of these things. That’s what I’ll do tomorrow.’
Other than those things, he got a few potions and a bunch of miscellaneous items. Some of them had a rough description about them which he went through using [Analysis].
Adrian could not perceive the others and kept those items with him for the time being. As for the rest, he was planning to sell them off. But not at once.
’Olympians must have discovered what I did to poachers by now. If I sold these together, it would raise suspicion.’
Adrian considered selling the items on the other floors. But then he wondered if they’d be worth anything there. Even though they were rare, the stats of the gear were just average. Because of this, he thought the merchants on the higher levels might not be very interested in buying them from him.
The lack of information about the upper floors was holding him back, and unlike before, Felix wasn’t there to answer his questions. However, there was someone he could ask for whatever he liked... but for the right price.
With that thought, Adrian’s lips curled. ’I guess it’s time to meet the admin.’
