Chapter 233: Business Proposal
Solhaven City.
Serena and Angela sat nervously in the Tatami House and Kitchen VIP room, waiting for Andy Bennet. They had been waiting for over five minutes, but he had not yet arrived.
They gossiped about the entertainment industry as they attempted to enjoy their appetizer. However, after a few minutes, Serena began to feel anxious as Andy Bennet still hadn’t shown up.
"Sister Angela, are you sure the meeting with Andy Bennet is today? Why isn’t he here yet?" Serena asked, her worry flashing through her eyes. She had been looking forward to meeting him for the first time, afraid the man would not appear.
Angela didn’t answer but continued sipping her tea while glancing at her watch. Knowing that Andy was ten minutes late, she began to worry. Her worry was not baseless, as she had heard that Andy Bennet was never late. Moreover, he was known for always arriving early to every meeting or appointment.
’Did Sawyer give me the wrong information?’ Angela wondered. She took out her cell phone and tried to contact her younger brother. She typed a text message:
"Brother, are you sure you gave me the right day and time? Why hasn’t Andy Bennet arrived at the meeting location yet?"
Before Angela could send the text, there were several knocks at the door.
"Yes, come in..." Angela replied, her eyes fixed on the door—just like Serena, who appeared nervous while looking at it.
When the door opened, Andy Bennet stepped in, accompanied by a woman with shoulder-length hair standing behind him. Angela and Serena immediately got up from their chairs to greet him.
"Mr. Bennet," Angela said as she approached the door and offered her hand for a handshake. She smiled and continued, "It’s such an honor to finally meet you, sir. I’m Angela Jones. Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me."
Andy Bennet accepted Angela’s handshake warmly. "Ms. Jones..."
Even though it was their first meeting in person, Andy felt he had known Angela for a long time. He had read much about her and her older brother, Harvey Jones. Sawyer ensured he was well-informed about the family to avoid missteps in their business dealings.
"I’m really sorry, Miss Jones. There was a bit of traffic on the way here, and I didn’t mean to keep you waiting," Andy said, genuinely sorry. However, his expression stiffened when he noticed the woman inside the room. He was taken aback.
’Why is she here too?’ Andy wondered, surprised. He had initially thought the woman was Angela’s secretary.
Angela led him to a seat on his chair, and after he settled across from her, she replied, "Mr. Bennet, there’s no need to apologize. We just arrived as well. You’ve come at the perfect time," Angela said casually; it didn’t bother her even if she had waited an hour. She was grateful that this man had taken the time to meet with her.
Andy felt relieved. "Ms. Jones, please just call me Andy," he insisted.
Angela swallowed nervously, hearing his request. It wasn’t because he was wealthy; her family also had high status in the country. But for some reason, his charisma made her feel like she was speaking to the most important person in the country. This was new to her, and she felt confused.
"If you insist, I will call you that, Mr. Andy. But please, you must also call me by my first name; there’s no need to use my last name." Angela smiled slightly.
"Deal, Miss Angela," Andy said with a faint smile. He then turned his gaze to Serena Philips. "I’m sorry to ask, but this lady...?"
Andy was surprised to discover that Angela had a close relationship with Serena Philips and didn’t know she would also be attending the meeting.
"I apologize, Mr. Andy. I forgot to mention that my friend Serena Philips is joining us for dinner," Angela admitted, feeling terrible. She purposely didn’t tell him, afraid he would cancel the meeting.
Angela didn’t like keeping this from him, but she felt she had no choice. "I hope you don’t mind, sir."
"No, I don’t mind. It’s fine," Andy replied, then turned to Serena again, greeting her with a handshake. "It’s an honor to meet an international movie star in person. Nice to meet you, Ms. Philips."
Serena excitedly tightened her grip, feeling her heart race. "You are so kind, Mr. Bennet. It’s also an honor to meet you, sir."
Andy said a little more to Serena and then introduced his secretary, Amelia Walker before they began discussing business.
Angela could not wait any longer. "Mr. Andy, would you like to discuss business now, or should we start our dinner first?"
"Can we start now? I have a meeting after this one. I won’t be joining you for dinner, but my secretary will be staying. You can provide her with more details; she will report back to me later," Andy said candidly.
This meeting was not originally on his agenda. Still, because Sawyer had requested his presence, he had rearranged his schedule to accommodate it.
"I hope you don’t mind this, Miss Angela?" Andy asked again, noticing her slightly shocked expression.
"No... No, I’m fine with that, sir. I won’t waste your time. I will explain now..." Angela replied, taking a folder from her bag and handing it to Andy. "Sir, I’m sure you’ve read the proposal I emailed you a few days ago?" she inquired. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"Yes, I reviewed a few points, but I need you to explain the details further, Miss Angela," Andy responded, flipping the pages of the files in his hands. He occasionally glanced at Angela, who was now explaining the proposal.
Her proposal was simple: She wanted to utilize their e-commerce network and all their chain stores nationwide. Since it was a minor issue, a personal meeting wasn’t necessary, but since it involved Sawyer’s family and Sawyer asked him to come, he didn’t have a choice but to come.
While Angela continued her explanation, Andy slowly pulled out his cell phone and texted Sawyer.
