Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 218: Sophie’s Fear
Chapter 218: Sophie’s Fear
Heading to Orange Town.
Abigail never enjoyed flying, especially in a propelled airplane or, worse, a helicopter like the one she’s in now. But they were out of time. Only for today was she willing to face those challenges.
They would arrive in Orange Town in just a few minutes, and she wouldn’t have to worry about Grandpa Philips finding his way to meet Grandma.
...
Abigail felt relieved when she spotted a large white house near the beach, with a helipad in the distance. She guessed they would land there.
Before long, the helicopter finally touched down on the helipad.
Abigail has always visited Orange Town but has never explored the side of the town near the beach.
"Sawyer, what is this place?" she asked before they stepped out of the helicopter.
"This is our beach house, Abby," he answered, taking her hand and guiding her to step out.
As she followed him away from the helicopter, she glanced at him and asked, "Did you buy this place recently?"
He shook his head. "No, I owned this property five years ago when I began investing heavily in this town."
"I see," Abigail smiled upon hearing his response. Earlier, she had been concerned that he would spend his money on a property in this town simply because they frequently visited.
"You have great taste, hubby. This is such a beautiful place; it would be wonderful to visit in the summer, right?" Abigail said while looking at the white sandy beach in the distance.
"You are indeed right, my little wife. This is the best place to spend summer," Sawyer smiles lovingly at her, "We will stay here for a couple of nights, but I’ll show you the house later. We don’t have much time now; we must go to the nursing home."
He gestured for her to walk toward the parked car beside the helipad’s area.
Abigail remained silent as she followed him to the vehicle but was surprised to see Vincent and Brody emerge from the car.
"They already arrived?" she asked.
"Yes, they drove here early this morning."

At Autumn Garden Nursing Home
Throughout the trip to the nursing home, Abigail felt nervous about telling her grandmother about James Philips. She tried to string together a few sentences to start the conversation, but now she worried that her choice of words might shock her Grandma.
However, when the car stopped in front of the Autumn Garden Nursing Home, she still hadn’t found the right words.
Taking a deep breath, Abigail pushed her worries aside and decided to deal with the matter later when she met her Grandma.
"Wait, Sawyer..." she called out, hurriedly stopping him before he could open the car door. There was something she needed to clarify with him.
"What’s wrong, Abby?" Sawyer asked, slightly confused.
"Have you told Grandpa Philips about this place!?"
"Not yet. I’ll call him now and ask someone to wait outside until you signal them to enter."
"Okay," she replied with a smile, agreeing with his plan.
"Go inside first. I’ll call Grandpa Philips now and catch up with you later."
Abigail nodded, quickly exited the car, and headed to her grandmother’s room.
...
When Abigail arrived at the corridor, she was surprised to see her Grandma standing in front of her room. She was no longer using her wheelchair but held a wooden walking stick.
Noticing her Grandma’s teary and worried expression, Abigail quickly approached her.
"Grandma, why don’t you wait inside?" she asked, gently taking her hand and leading her in.
"Abby, honey," Sophie said, her voice trembling as she grasped her granddaughter’s hand tightly. This shocked Abigail, who felt something was off with her Grandma.
Before Abigail could say something, Sophie continued, "I’ve been waiting for you since breakfast. I was really worried when I texted you, but you didn’t reply. Your cell phone isn’t even active."
"I’m sorry, Grandma..." Abigail replied, helping her grandmother settle onto the sofa before she sat down beside her.
Sophie’s worried gaze lingered on Abigail as she scanned her from head to toe. Her grip tightened as if she was holding something precious that she feared losing.
"Grandma, why do you look at me like that?" Abigail wondered. She felt like her grandmother was checking her body for injuries.
Abigail felt amused when the thought crossed her mind: ’Grandma wants to know if Sawyer left any bruises on me, right?’ She stifled a laugh.
"Are you okay, Abby? I’m so worried about you, dear," Sophie asked.
Abigail frowned, beginning to suspect something was wrong. Her grandmother, who was supposed to be happy to meet her, looked terrified.
Although they had been together for a few minutes, Abigail had yet to hear her Grandma congratulate her. Instead, her grandmother seemed unable to focus on her, constantly darting toward the door and window.
Abigail could clearly see from Sophie’s gaze that she was tense and frightened.
"Grandma, I’m alright..." Abigail called out to Sophie to get her attention. When Sophie looked at her, she smiled before asking, "Why do you look so scared? Is something bothering you? Frightening you?"
Sophie’s expression turned pale as she said, "Abby, your father—I mean that bastard Adam Snow—called me a few hours ago." She glanced at the door briefly before returning her gaze to Abigail.
"He said he would send someone to drag me to Sunset Bay City if you don’t call him today... What should I do, Abby?"
Abigail felt as if her heart had stopped. She needed a few seconds to gather her thoughts before venting her anger. "WHAT! What the hell does that man want from me? Why is he calling you now!? Is he out of his mind!?"
She couldn’t believe Adam Snow had the audacity to call her grandmother and threaten her. Was he really courting death!?
"Abby, I’m scared. Does he know you’ve changed your last name? Is that why he’s lost his mind and is now threatening to hurt me?" Sophie’s grip tightened even more, hurting Abigail’s hand, but she didn’t pull away. She was too angry to know that her father had a plan to harm her Grandma.
Gritting her teeth, Abigail cursed Adam Snow in her mind. She would never forgive him if he dared to harm her grandmother.
’If necessary, I will ask Grandpa Philips to take revenge on that damn man!’
