Chapter 213: Talk To Grandma

Abigail was surprised to hear that; she hadn’t even seen her wedding photos.

"Really? I didn’t know that. I’m glad you’ve seen our photos, Grandma. And...I’m sorry you are not here with us," Abigail said with a guilty smile.

"Abby, my dear, why do you look so gloomy?" Sophie smiled lovingly, trying to ease her worries.

She continued, "My grandson-in-law called me yesterday. He explained that the wedding ceremony wasn’t part of your plan. Still, because his grandparents insisted, he arranged a small wedding ceremony on short notice. Don’t blame yourself, dear. Granny understands. Besides, I’m too fragile to rush over there either."

Abigail was surprised to hear this; Sawyer hadn’t mentioned anything to her. "Wait. Did S-Sawyer call you?" she asked.

Sophie nodded. "Yes, he called me yesterday and explained everything until I understood. He also promised that there would be another wedding party once I moved in with you both." Her voice trembled with happiness at the thought of being reunited with her granddaughter.

After living in different cities for several years, they will soon live in the same place. Thinking of living with Abigail again makes her feel a delight she had never felt before.

Abigail’s heart warmed when she learned that Sawyer had called her grandmother. She was at a loss for words to express her gratitude to him for being so kind to her and her grandma.

Worried that it might be too late, Abigail immediately informed her grandmother about her plan to visit the nursing home the following day. However, she chose not to mention anything about James Philips and decided to discuss that when they met.

"Abby? Are you visiting me tomorrow?" Sophie asked, clearly confused by what she heard. Her expression revealed her shock at hearing the news. "Honey, why are you both coming here? Aren’t you two going on your honeymoon?"

Before Abigail could respond, her grandmother continued, "Abby, you can come visit me after you get back from your honeymoon. There’s no need to rush to see me."

Abigail anticipated her grandmother saying this and prepared a response to avoid raising suspicion about their sudden plan to stop in Orange Town.

"Grandma, we need to visit Mom’s grave. I can’t wait to share this happy news with her. So, we’ll stop by to see you for a while, too," Abigail explained.

Sophie remained silent, nodding in agreement with her granddaughter. "Alright, I will gladly meet you tomorrow, Abby."

"Me too, Grandma..."

"Oh right, my Abby, where is my grandson-in-law? Why didn’t Sawyer join the video call with you?"

Abigail was taken aback. She had completely forgotten about him during the video call. Slowly but surely, her heart tightened again, and she began to wonder where he was.

"Grandma, I should go now. Sawyer just finished showering—" Abigail could only come up with a random excuse.

"Okay, my dear. Bye, and see you tomorrow." Sophie quickly ended the call, not wanting to interrupt her granddaughter. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Abigail took a deep sigh as she stared at her cell phone. She set it down and looked toward the door.

Instantly, she nearly had a heart attack when she saw the man she had been looking for standing there, gazing at her with an alluring smile on his lips.

"My little wife, were you looking for me? Do you miss me?" His smile widened, and Abigail felt her cheeks flush.

At that moment, she was at a loss for words and couldn’t speak; her eyes were fixed on him. She noticed he had just taken a shower, wearing only black sports pants and nothing on his upper body.

She swallowed hard, her eyes drawn to his muscular frame. This wasn’t the first time she had seen him half naked like this; however, for some reason, her entire body felt warm, as if someone had turned the room’s heating up to maximum.

"Grandma, she’s looking for you to ask—" Abigail’s words faltered when she saw him walking toward her.

As Abigail struggled to calm her nerves, realizing their wedding night was about to begin, Sawyer’s words nearly choked her.

"Abby, didn’t you see the nightgown I prepared for you? I bought several styles so you could choose the one you like." He smiled while sitting beside her, taking her hand and gazing into her eyes.

"I saw them," Abigail responded.

"But why didn’t you wear them?" Sawyer asked. When he noticed her flushed face and the shyness radiating from her eyes, he began to guess her thoughts and felt the urge to tease her more. "Maybe you want me to buy a different style?"

"No," Abigail quickly shook her head. It would be a waste not to wear those sexy lingerie sets.

"Are you sure?" Sawyer asked again, gently placing his hand under her chin to lift her face so their eyes would meet.

Abigail nodded. Not wanting him to continue discussing the lingerie, she tried to redirect the conversation. "Did you shower in the outdoor bathroom?"

"Yes, I shower in another room. After my shower, I had a few things to do in my office. Sorry to keep you waiting, dear," he said, trying to fix her messy hair that fell over her forehead. "You mentioned that Grandma was looking for me to ask something? What is it about...?"

"Yeah, I finally managed to video-call her, and she was looking for you. She asked why you didn’t join me on the call." Abigail explained. She also continues to share details about her conversation with Grandma, including their plan to visit her the next day.

"Did you tell her about Grandpa Philips?" Sawyer asked, curious about Grandma Sophie’s reaction.

"Of course not; I’ll tell her tomorrow," Abigail replied, shaking her head. "Besides, Grandma told me to stop talking and insisted that I should sleep with you—" Her voice froze mid-sentence.

’Gosh! Why did I have to bring that up again? Was I trying to imply that we should go to sleep now?’ She vented her frustration, feeling nervous about what she had just said.

Quickly, she shifted the conversation, asking, "Sawyer, Grandma mentioned that you sent her our wedding pictures?" She hoped Sawyer hadn’t noticed her earlier slip.
