Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 212: Worried About Grandma
Chapter 212: Worried About Grandma
"I see..." Angela could tell Serena was hiding something. She noticed how she pretended to be calm, but fear and worry flashed in her eyes.
After a long silence, Angela asked, "Did you give up on my little brother, Sawyer?"
Serena’s hand froze in mid-air upon hearing Angela’s question, her heart racing at the thought of Sawyer.
’Give up on Sawyer?’ Serena silently took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. She gracefully placed the gold spoon on the plate and chuckled softly.
"Sis Angela, Sawyer and I broke up a long time ago when I moved to the U.S. Besides, I heard he got married today. How could I continue my relationship with—"
"Wait, what? What are you trying to say?" Angela interrupted, her voice rising in shock. "Sawyer got married? When?"
Angela was utterly taken aback by the news. Although Sawyer was not very close to her and rarely visited the family home, there was no way he would marry secretly without inviting her—or at least their grandparents or parents.
"Sister, you don’t know about it? Seriously!?" Serena replied, stunned.
’Did Grandpa lie to me? Did he just want me to stop pursuing Sawyer?’ Suspicion crept into Serena’s mind. She remembered her Grandpa telling her that today, Sawyer would marry Abigail.
Angela no longer cared about Serena’s question; she immediately excused herself and left the VIP room, calling her parents.

After the whole family returned home, the house grew quiet again, just as usual. But Abigail’s heartbeat felt loud, restless, and nervous.
Since their engagement, Abigail eagerly wanted to embrace their love, but somehow, after their official marriage, anxiety took over her.
"Calm down, Abby, calm down! Why are you feeling this way? This is what you wanted, right!?"
Abigail had lost count of how often she had tried to soothe her heart and mind every time her sultry thoughts about their wedding night filled her mind.
Hastily, Abigail stepped out of the bathroom after a warm bath, hoping to refresh herself. She expected to find Sawyer at the door. But to her surprise, there was no one there. She didn’t even see any signs of him in the room.
Feeling ashamed, she recalled her worry that Sawyer would not wait for them to enjoy their wedding night. She thought that way because after sending all their family back to their homes, Sawyer started to see her with his sultry gaze.
A shy smile slowly spread across her lips. "Gosh, Abby! You’re overthinking this, aren’t you?"
When Abigail entered the walk-in closet, she searched for her nightgown. To her surprise, she discovered a pile of lingerie in the closet. And each piece was more revealing than anything she had ever owned.
Abigail was at a loss for words as she checked the sleepwear Sawyer had chosen for her—none of which she felt comfortable wearing.
"Gosh, Sawyer Jones, how could I possibly sleep in something so revealing like this!?" she sighed deeply.
She regretted not bringing her clothes from the fourth floor to this room.
Abigail picked up a piece of red lingerie, feeling the soft fabric and noticing how light it felt against her skin.
As she held the lingerie against her body, she realized it was incredibly short, barely covering her private areas and completely see-through.
"What the hell! What’s the point of wearing this? It might as well be nothing at all!"
She shook her head in disbelief before placing the red lingerie back down.
"I need to bring my comfortable pajamas tomorrow!"
Abigail glanced at another closet, her eyes lighting up with happiness as she spotted her favorite home outfit: a comfortable shirt and yoga pants.
After changing into the loose shirt and yoga pants, she was about to leave the room to find Sawyer when her phone suddenly rang, causing her to pause.
Her eyes lit up with happiness when a text from her Grandma appeared on her cell phone screen.
"Gr-Granny, you finally answered my text!" Abigail felt relieved.
Earlier, she wanted to talk to her grandmother about her plans to visit her the next day with Grandpa Philips. However, despite calling her grandmother many times, she didn’t answer. When she called the nurse to check on her grandmother, the nurse informed her that she was sleeping.
Hurrying, Abigail read the short text: "Abby, sorry, I just saw your message. You can call me now, dear."
Abigail checked the time before making a video call; it was almost nine. She quickly settled onto the sofa and called her grandmother.
As she waited for the video to connect, she feared her grandmother might not feel well. But when she finally saw her grandmother’s cheerful face on the screen, she felt relieved that her fears were unfounded.
"Oh, Abby, my baby, you look beautiful..." Sophie smiled widely as she looked at her granddaughter.
"Grandma, where have you been? You’re making me worry! Why didn’t you pick up my call earlier?" Abigail pretended to sound sad. However, Sophie couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable her granddaughter looked.
Instead of explaining, Sophie gently scolded her, "Abby, why are you calling me now? This is your wedding night, dear. You should go to sleep and not keep your husband waiting. We can talk tomorrow morning, okay?"
Abigail’s cheeks felt warm, and she knew what her grandmother was thinking. She swallowed silently before replying.
"I miss you, Granny. Looks like you’re not interested to see me in my wedding gown..." she said with a shrug.
But Sophie just laughed, ignoring her sulking granddaughter.
"Oh, dear Abby, of course. I miss you so much! I wanted to be there to witness my beautiful granddaughter marry my grandson-in-law," Sophie answered softly.
Abigail says nothing, but she shrugs again.
"Luckily, my grandson-in-law sent some photos and a video of your wedding not long after the wedding day. I am so happy he remembered to share it immediately," Sophie continues.
Abigail was surprised to hear that; she hadn’t even seen her wedding photos.
