Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 201: Wedding Day (5)
Chapter 201: Wedding Day (5)
On the first floor,
The spacious room connects to a beautiful backyard garden. It is adorned with fresh roses and decorated in gold and earth-tone colors, creating the perfect setting for Sawyer and Abigail’s intimate wedding ceremony.
At the front of the room stands a small altar, topped with arches of white and pink roses, and behind it lies the picturesque garden.
Although it is nearly fall, the atmosphere feels like spring. Sawyer arranged for fresh roses of various colors from another country to surround the venue, enhancing the spring-like ambiance.
Charming yellow lamps hang from the decorated ceiling, adding a warm glow to the area.
A few guests are seated in a row of white chairs facing the altar. They are engaged in lively conversations as they wait for the bride and groom to make their entrance.
In the front row, Walter Jones sits with his father, Nathaniel Jones, and James Philips.
In the middle row, Dr. Aaron Hart is seated with Ronan Peters and Ethan, who share that they worked all night to prepare for this impromptu wedding ceremony.
Rowan Sterling, who has just arrived, chooses to sit beside Andy Bennet in the last row because he notices Andy sitting alone and takes pity on him. He pats Andy’s shoulder before sitting down next to him.
"Rowan!" Andy greets him nonchalantly, returning his attention to his cell phone.
However, Rowan’s following words hit Andy like a slap to the face, instantly causing him a headache.
"Andy, I can’t believe you’re actually coming to their wedding. Are you really okay with it?" Rowan glanced at him, a faint smile curling his lips when he saw Andy glared.
Not wanting to make Andy uncomfortable, Rowan turned his gaze to check on the other guests. He understood how private this wedding was and knew that only those Sawyer trusted the most were invited. Still, he was stunned to see James Philips among them.
’Why did Sawyer invite that old man here? Does he forget that he is Serena’s grandfather? If he doesn’t, that would be a cruel move to Serena.’
Andy didn’t answer Rowan immediately; instead, he glanced at him annoyedly, clearly showing his displeasure.
But Rowan ignored him; he sighed deeply and said in a low tone, "Andy, do you want to see me kicked out of Silverstone? Boss Sawyer invited me, of course, and I have to come on his special day..."
Shaking his head slightly, Andy turned toward the beautiful altar before him to avoid Rowan, who was intent on probing about his feelings for Abigail.
However, as he looked at the altar where Sawyer would tie the knot with Abigail, Andy’s mind began to imagine himself standing next to Abigail as the groom, not Sawyer.
Last night, Andy was utterly shocked when Sawyer called and invited him to his wedding today. He agreed to attend immediately because he simply couldn’t refuse him. Or, perhaps, he also wanted to see Abigail one last time before she officially became Sawyer’s wife. He couldn’t quite tell the difference.
With a deep sigh, Andy vented his frustration inwardly, ’I should come up with an excuse for not attending this wedding, like claiming I have an important deal abroad. Why force myself to go to this event and torture my heart? How foolish you are, Andy!!’
Rowan frowned as he turned back to Andy, clearly confused by his words.
Noticing Andy’s gloomy expression, Rowan jumped in to ask, "Andy, does Boss Sawyer know about your feelings for Miss Abigail?" He began to suspect that Sawyer had intentionally invited Andy to the wedding as a punishment.
Andy glared at Rowan, his gloomy expression slowly shifting to anger.
"You know what, Rowan? This is all your fault! How could you not tell me the truth? If you had told me that day, I would have never confessed my feelings to Miss Abigail and made Sawyer angry with me..."
Rowan was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Andy to confess to Abigail so quickly.
"Tsk! Tsk! How dare you trick me into paying her legal fees?" Andy continued, noticing that Rowan remained silent but was smiling.
"Come on, Andy... you’re the one who wanted to pay. Did you forget that I warned you a few times while you insisted on covering her expenses?" Rowan calmly replied, suppressing his urge to laugh at Andy’s annoyed expression. He didn’t want to make him feel worse.
"Did Sawyer know about it? That I paid the legal fee?" Andy asked curiously.
"Of course, he knows the money came from your own pocket. But don’t worry, Abigail didn’t know about it."
Andy sighed, relieved. It would be awkward if she knew he used his own money.
"Well, to tell you the truth, that was our lady boss’s idea to let Silverstone pay me. That’s why he asked Sawyer to talk to me. She didn’t want her man to pay my legal fees," Rowan laughed.
"What the heck? She didn’t know Sawyer owns Silverstone?" Andy asked curiously. This had been bothering him lately since knowing that Abigail was Sawyer’s fiancée.
"I don’t know if she already knows or not. But, I was sure, at that time, she didn’t know about it."
"I see..."
"Ah, Andy, you have not yet told me. Did she accept your feelings?" Rowan asked again after he saw Andy no longer as sulky as before.
Andy chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. He was signaling to Rowan not to discuss it further, but Rowan missed the signal. Finally, he responded, "Do you think I have a chance against the big boss?"
Rowan’s eyebrow arched slightly. "You lack the confidence to go for it!?" he smirked.
Instead of answering, Andy shot back with a question, "What about you?"
"Hahaha..." Rowan’s laughter echoed in the room, drawing everyone’s attention. Realizing they were being watched, he quickly quieted down and turned to Andy, whispering, "I’m married! How could I compete with our hot and single boss?"
Andy shook his head, feeling exhausted. He no longer had the energy to talk to Rowan. At this very moment, he wanted the wedding ceremony to start so he could leave this place immediately.
