Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 183: Sawyer Warning (2)
Chapter 183: Sawyer Warning (2)
"For God’s sake, Andy... can you just answer me without tossing the question back?!" Sawyer said calmly, trying to suppress his annoyance, though Andy could see the tension in his eyes.
Andy sighed deeply before responding to him.
"Damn you, Sawyer Jones! Why did you force me to remember that painful moment? In fact, the most painful one in my life!" He directed a sharp gaze at Sawyer.
When Andy noticed Sawyer responding with a deadpan expression, he sighed again before continuing, "Of course, Abigail rejected me outright..."
A half-smile graced Sawyer’s handsome features upon hearing that.
"Are you happy now?" Andy asked, feeling sulky. He wanted to tell Sawyer about his plan to eliminate Abigail’s new fiancé, but the words never left his lips.
Sawyer felt his heart swell when he heard Abigail had rejected Andy. He didn’t want to make her wait any longer, so he fixed his gaze on Andy again.
"Thank you for being honest with me, Andy. But you need to stop pursuing my fiancée. Abigail will become my wife tomorrow morning!"
Andy was taken aback when he heard that Sawyer was getting married the next day.
Confusion washed over him as he looked at Sawyer sitting across from him. Although he had known Sawyer for over a decade, he had never seen him show interest in a girl. Yet now, after knowing Abigail for just a few months, Sawyer declared he would marry her the next day.
’Did I hear that wrong?’ Andy wondered, his gaze still fixed on his best friend.
Narrowing his eyes at Sawyer, Andy wondered if someone else’s soul possessed the man before him.
"Who are you? Are you really my best friend, Sawyer Jones?" Andy raised his eyebrow. "Can you return my friend, please?"
"What the hell are you trying to say, Andy?!" Sawyer frowned in response.
Andy’s expression remained suspicious as he glanced at the man before him, questioning whether he was indeed Sawyer Jones.
"Sawyer, since when did you change like this? Interested in women, and you’ve already decided to marry her in just a few months?"
Sawyer chuckled, "Man, you need to fall in love more to know about it. But not with my Abby! You need to find another woman out there..."
Andy’s expression turned grim as he caught the sulking tone in Sawyer’s voice. He tried to lighten the mood with another jab, "Man, I thought you still loved Serena—"
"What the hell, Andy Bennet! Did you forget my warning? Mention that name again, and you’ll regret it!"
"Oops, my bad. Sorry, man... but seriously, why did you fall in love with Abigail so quickly? If I’m counting correctly, it’s only been three months, and you’ve already decided to marry her. Have your grandparents or parents met her yet? Did they bless you?"
Andy asked curiously. If Sawyer’s family refused to accept Abigail, maybe he still had a chance to pursue her, right?
Hearing Andy’s question, Sawyer laughed inwardly. If only he had more time, he would love to share his love story with Abigail. However, he didn’t have much time to chat; he needed to leave soon. Abigail was waiting for him outside, and he didn’t want to keep her waiting too long.
"My friend, my family’s blessing is none of your business..." Sawyer replied, smiling, though his gaze sent a chill down Andy’s spine. He continued, "And you need to stop thinking about pursuing Abigail..."
Andy merely stared at Sawyer with a faint smile, choosing not to defend himself, knowing the consequences of saying too much.
"I won’t stay long!" Sawyer declared as he stood up from his seat.
"Wait, Sawyer..." Andy also stood to stop him. Seeing Sawyer turn to face him, he added, "You know I have a business relationship with Abigail, right?"
"Andy, I won’t stop you from working with Abby, but if you want anything more than that, you know what will happen," Sawyer responded before leaving the room, allowing Andy to exhale in relief.
"Thanks, man..." Andy muttered though Sawyer could no longer hear him. He felt happy.
At least Sawyer had allowed him to continue working with Abigail. He still had the chance to see her, even if it was just for work. For now, that was enough for him.

When Sawyer came out of Andy Bennet’s office, the first thing Abigail checked was his expression. She worried that their conversation had gone bad. Thankfully, she noticed a bright smile on his face.
Standing up from her seat, Abigail took his hand and returned his gentle, loving smile.
"Are you done?" she asked casually, though inwardly, she desperately wanted to know what they had discussed.
"Hmm, I’m done. Let’s go home," Sawyer replied, squeezing her hand as they walked to the elevator.
Only three of them were inside, with Vincent standing in front.
Abigail glanced at Sawyer and whispered, "I still can’t believe you know Andy Bennet. Vincent told me that Andy is your best friend. Is that true?"
"Hmm, he is my friend..." Sawyer answered shortly. He didn’t want to talk about Andy right now; he just wanted to go home and cuddle with her.
The thought of someone trying to pursue Abigail weighed heavily on his mind and heart. As he drove from his grandfather’s house to Silverstone Tower, his worry and anger mounted at the thought of Andy possibly stealing Abigail from him. Fortunately, his fears began to subside when he heard from Andy that Abigail had outright rejected him.
Sensing that Sawyer didn’t want to discuss it, Abigail chose not to ask any further questions.
...
Abigail no longer rode in Vincent’s car but in Sawyer’s, which made her feel more at ease discussing her concerns.
"Sawyer, even though you’re friends with Andy Bennet, I hope you’ll be careful around him." Abigail understood that Andy must be upset over her rejection, especially knowing that Sawyer, his best friend, was her fiancé.
Sawyer didn’t respond immediately; he focused on the road ahead but laughed in his heart, hearing her worry.
