Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 173: Honeymoon Plan
Chapter 173: Honeymoon Plan
Sawyer’s voice trailed off when he noticed her eyes narrowing and her beautiful eyebrows slightly raised, clearly showing her annoyance.
"Abby, my dear, why did you give me that look? You should be proud that you are the reason I’m falling in love again, right?"
"I do, and I’m proud and glad to hear that. Thank you, Sawyer..." Abigail smiled as she turned to face him, wanting to look into his eyes. "But I’m just curious—do you still have any feelings left for her?"
Sawyer frowned.
Noticing the change in his expression, Abigail quickly added, "I mean, she is your childhood sweetheart—your first love, or at least your first crush. Moreover, she has princess-like beauty, a glamorous and hotshot acting career, and comes from a wealthy, old-money family. And then there’s me; I’m completely different from her—"
"Indeed, you are completely different from her. Personally, you stand out without any of the traits you mentioned about her," Sawyer smiled as he noticed her eyebrows furrowing even more. "And for that, among other things, I love you more than I could ever express..."
"I’m serious!" Abigail responded, irritated that Sawyer seemed not to understand her feelings. "Gosh! Can you please praise me a little?" She lowered her eyes, not wanting him to see how sad she felt. But it was too late.
"I am serious too, Abby. I praised you, right?" He smiles. "My feelings for you are within any logical reason and beyond. Because I don’t believe logic alone can make me deeply, madly in love with you."
Sawyer could see her expression darken; she looked angry. Instead of trying to calm her down, he leaned closer, gently placing his hand on her chin to lift her gaze to his.
Seeing the tension in her eyes, he no longer wanted to upset her. He softly kissed her forehead and moved to her eyes.
"Because, Abby, you are perfect in my eyes. You are prettier than her, both inside and out," he paused to gauge her reaction, noting her tension gradually easing. He continued, "Who said you aren’t rich? You are! You spent your youth and money caring for your mother and grandmother alone."
Abigail trembled at his words. He was correct; all her money went to her mother and grandmother. If she calculated it, she could buy a building in the capital.
"Please don’t compare yourself to her, Abby. What you have become now is far above her. I chose you because I admire what you are and what you have become after everything in your life. You do not need to try to be someone or better than anyone else—just be yourself..." Sawyer smiled warmly, his eyes shining with affection.
Abigail felt her heart swell at his words. He tried to speak but found there weren’t enough words.
"Abby, would you like me to continue telling you how amazing you are?"
Abigail shook her head in response. She didn’t want to hear it anymore. What he said was enough to make her more confident and trust him.
"Alright, let’s take a nap," he said with a happy smile as he pulled her closer to him.

Next day.
While enjoying breakfast, Abigail and Sawyer discussed their schedule for the day.
Sawyer still felt annoyed that he had to let Abigail meet her client alone. He wanted to accompany her, but his grandpa insisted he visit their family house. He didn’t have a choice but to let her go with Vincent.
"Abby, I’m sorry I can’t take you today. I need to meet Grandpa. He suddenly wanted to talk to me after what happened yesterday."
Abigail, who had just finished her tuna sandwich and orange juice, looked at him with a reassuring smile.
"It’s okay. You don’t have to feel sorry about it, Sawyer. This is just a simple meeting. My client only needs me to revise my interior design..."
If there were something related to the contract offer, she might worry, but after all, she would be meeting Andy Bennet. That man would not do anything untoward to her.
Sawyer took her hand and squeezed it gently.
"I feel bad because I promised to accompany you today." He continued to express his annoyance.
"Why do you still feel bad?" She felt amused when she saw the terrible expression on his face. "You’ve already done so many things for my office, Sawyer."
Abigail would always be grateful for his help. He had done so many amazing things for her: he gave her a building to start her company, invested a massive amount of money in her business, and placed a few of his trusted people to help her establish Camellia Modern Design, CMD.
Sawyer said nothing but shrugged.
"Why did he want to meet you?" Abigail asked, trying to change the subject. "Did anything strange happen after we left Grandpa’s house?"
As she spoke, worry slowly appeared in Abigail’s eyes, waiting for Sawyer’s response.
"I don’t know either. I tried to ask him, but Grandpa insisted that I go there. He only mentioned that he couldn’t discuss it over the phone," he explained.
Sawyer sensed something had happened in his family because his grandfather had never acted like this.
Many thoughts filled his mind, but the one that worried him most was the threat from Old Philips. That old man might confront his relationship with Abigail.
If that happened, it could strain his relationship with his grandfather, much like what had occurred with his father.
Just thinking about it was enough to give him a headache.
Putting his worries aside for a moment, Sawyer quickly finished his meal.
He smiled at Abigail, who was looking at him with concern.
"Smile, my pretty Abby. There’s nothing for you to worry about. Everything will be fine." Sawyer smiled and tried to ease her concern.
"Hmm, I understand. I’m just a little worried that Grandpa Nathaniel might cause you some trouble," Abigail said, expressing concern. She smiled at him, but a slight worry lingered in her heart.
