Beauty in the beast world-Chapter 263: Hasty decisions
Chapter 263: Hasty decisions
[Scorpion Tribe]
As soon as Demir entered the scorpion tribe, the guards bowed in respect before one of them went on to inform the king about the prince’s return. They had orders from the king to always notify if the prince ever return to the tribe.
Before Demir could even enter the scorpion castle, the king came rushing out with a big smile on his face, "My dear son!" he hugged his son which made the latter smile.
When the king pulled back, he observed his son’s face and blabbered, "Why did you have to travel through this cold? What if you fall ill? Don’t you know that the cold seasons are harsh in the Beast City?"
Demir chuckled hearing his father, "And you are saying all this to a cold-blooded beastman?" A cold wind was one thing that had never before bothered him as a cold-blooded being. It did make him a little sluggish initially but after becoming an immortal beastman, that too stopped. The need to hibernate quelled for both him and Blake after that. Before, he had not taken this seriously because going into hibernation or not did not bother him but now though, he would go to any lengths necessary to stay by his mate’s side for all year round.
"No matter how much you grow, you will always be my baby boy" His father’s words brought Demir out of his thoughts. The latter frowned at his father’s cringy words, "Don’t call me that" his father was always like this. And whenever he told about this behavior of his father to others, no one believed him. They never could imagine the ruthless scorpion king behaving in such a manner. But the ones he and his father were close to had seen this many times and had come to terms with their king’s eccentric demeanor.
After reaching the king’s meeting room, his father excused all of the elders to leave the room. The tribe elders curiously glanced at the king and the prince before leaving.
When they finally left and the room became empty, Demir and the scorpion king settled in their respective seats.
"Tell me now, what are you here for?" asked the king staring at Demir. His son would not voluntarily leave his mate’s side to come here. The kind had come to terms with that fact. His son hardly came to the tribe after meeting his beloved and that had only increased with him finally mating with Lyra.
"Did you warn that woman?" and what Demir said made the scorpion king frown, "Which woman?"
"Your mate" replied Demir reclining in his seat, "Did you talk to your mate about not meeting my mate from now on, or should I be the one to warn her about it?" He had not come here to talk about his mother but Demir felt this discussion worthy enough so that his mother would not meet his mate ever again. He did not want that cruel woman anywhere near his mate. The distance that the former had maintained until now, he wanted his mother to continue doing that.
"Demir....." Warned the King not at all liking his son disrespecting his mate, "If this is what you are here to talk about then just get out from here. I will not listen to you anymore" he had enough of his son always disregarding his own mother. She is the queen of his tribe before anything else and he wanted everyone to respect his queen and that included his son as well. The reason why she ended up like that in the first place was because he had forced her to become his mate. He still regretted making her go through all of that and now he only wished for her to be happy and nothing else. It didn’t matter even if she hated him...he just wanted her by his side. With Demir always saying harsh words to her, the king worried that it would cause his mate distress.
Demir observed his father as the latter got lost in his own thoughts. Maybe this was how he would have ended up too if his sunshine had not accepted him. He also might have resorted to using force to have her by his side which in turn would have earned nothing but her hatred. Just like how his mother hated his father. And he didn’t even want to imagine something like that. His life without his mate felt bleak and miserable. Only darkness would await him without his sunshine. Demir could somewhat understand his father now that he also had someone whom he loved.
In order to not drag this matter anymore, Demir decided to change the topic at hand. In the first place, this was not why he was here, and started to discuss what was important, "Kyrell mated with a female of his tribe"
The scorpion king looked aghast hearing that, "Kyrell? Do you mean the Eagle King?"
"Yes" Confirmed Demir, "That bastard has turned his back on my mate. He has betrayed us" The betrayal was not taken lightly by him. Kyrell had not just lost his sunshine’s trust but also all of their trust. And betrayal meant death and nothing else.
"How is that even possible?" the king still didn’t believe him, "Males can never mate with females other than their beloved. They will die before doing something like that"
"Kyrell and Lyra had yet to become mates" Demir clarified making the king frown. His father probably didn’t know about his mate’s relationship with Kyrell. He was glad that his sunshine didn’t mate with that kind of bastard.
"That.....that too is not likely to happen," said the king, "We males love one or none. That is how it is and the Eagle King already liked Lyra. He could have not betrayed her" It still didn’t make any sense. For a male like the Eagle King to betray his beloved, that seemed ridiculous. He had met Kyrell before and the latter didn’t seem like one that would backstab the one he loves unless someone forced him into it...his inner monologue came to a halt when he heard his son’s next words.
"He did it" Sighed Demir, "My sunshine confirmed it herself and even got slapped by that bastard’s female for wanting to talk to him" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"They did what now!?" The King exclaimed while hitting the table, "How dare they!"?
"Yeah, they have dared to do something that they should have never done and I will make them pay for it" Demir looked calm on the outside but he was seething inside. He might have become gentle due to his mate but that does not mean that he would continue to be gentle even when his mate was hurt. How humiliated she must have felt when that wench boasted about mating with someone she loved? How hurtful that is? No one would be able to handle that. He could also see his mate putting on a brave front masking her inner feelings to not worry them. Kyrell would suffer greatly for this.
"What do you want me to do?" asked the scorpion king recognizing the feral glint in his son’s eyes.
Demir smirked hearing his father. Offcourse, his father understands him the best. He clenched his fists before saying, "I want the Eagle tribe gone"
"That’s not that easy, son"
"I don’t care" came a quick reply from Demir, "I want to see the end of the eagle tribe that dared to hurt my mate"

While Demir was making the biggest decision that would change the course of their entire lives, Lucas and Noah were hunting inside the forest.
"Is he the last one?" Asked Lucas while wiping the blood off of his face.
"It seems so" Noah answered while he took out the claws that were buried inside a beastman’s gut a mere seconds ago.
Two of them were indeed hunting but not animals. The ones to die were Beastmen instead. They were finding all of Alice’s mates that had come to the forest and started to kill them one by one without mercy. Noah was the one that recognized Alice’s mates and he worked with Lucas to hunt all of them down.
Noah made sure to rip all of them apart. He had still not forgotten about how some of them held him back while their female hit his baby dove. This was just the beginning for that wretched eagle tribe.
Lucas on the other hand felt satiated killing the ones that had disrespected his mate. The Eagle tribe had done a great mistake provoking them. He and his tribe will definitely not let this matter slide.
"Let’s go," said Noah, "We still have to hunt some prey so that our mate can celebrate whatever she wants"
"Yeah, let us take a dunk in a nearby river before that" Lucas agreed before going in search of the river inside the forest. He didn’t like having the stench of blood near his mate or the cubs.
