Chapter 61: Chapter 60: Resurrected ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

A sharp intake of breath filled my lungs as my eyes snapped open.

I was lying on the cold, damp ground, my body feeling strangely light despite what I had just gone through.

The scent of soil and blood filled my nose, and a distant rustling of trees told me I was back in the forest.

Back where I had fought Fen.

I pushed myself up, my limbs sluggish but functional.

There wasn’t a single wound on me, not a single trace of the battle that had killed me.

I was alive.

Again.

My gaze drifted forward, and there he was.

Fen.

He was already walking away, his movements unhurried, as if everything that happened here was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

His aura was oppressive, a constant reminder of the vast gulf between us.

But this time, I wasn’t going to let him walk away so easily.

I pushed myself up, the sound of my foot on the ground catching his attention.

He stopped mid-step, tilting his head slightly before turning around.

His silver eyes met mine, cold and indifferent, as if I were nothing more than a fleeting shadow.

"You again," he stated, his voice calm and measured, devoid of any emotion.

I smirked, the corners of my lips curling upward despite the tension in the air.

"Wow, congratulations on figuring that out, it wasn’t so hard to figure out, right?," I shot back, my voice laced with mockery. "A high existence like you, and you can’t even kill a lower existence like me? Kind of embarrassing, don’t you think?"

Fen didn’t react.

His expression remained unreadable, his silver eyes as cold as ever.

But I didn’t need him to react.

I already had a plan.

Ori struck without warning.

The massive wolf materialized from the shadows, lunging at Fen with terrifying speed.

His sharp fangs aimed straight for Fen’s throat, but Fen dodged effortlessly, his body shifting just enough to evade the attack.

Ori landed behind him, his claws digging into the dirt, but I was already moving.

The moment Fen dodged, I closed the gap between us, my fingers tightening around Doom’s trigger.

I fired, the bullet cutting through the air like a comet.

Fen caught it with his bare hand, the faint shimmer of his skin negating the attack.

But I wasn’t done.

Behind him, Ori dissolved into mist, a ghostly black cloud that surged forward with terrifying speed.

He passed straight through Fen’s body, and for a moment, I felt a shift, a deep, inexplicable sensation that something had changed.

Ori had done something.

Something to Fen.

But Fen didn’t react.

He didn’t even seem to notice.

His silver eyes remained cold, his expression unchanging.

And then, before I could process what had happened, pain exploded in my chest.

A silver spear had pierced straight through me, the sharp, burning agony tearing through flesh and bone.

I gasped, my vision tunneling as blood pooled from the wound, staining the ground beneath me.

My body felt like it was shutting down, a cruel déjà vu from the last time he killed me.

I looked up, my breath coming in ragged bursts.

Fen stood there, his expression just as indifferent as before.

Like this was nothing to him.

Like I was nothing to him.

"Just give up on your dreams, and die" Fen said.

With that....

I died again.

And I resurrected instantly again, but far away from his reach.

"Sky," Fen said, his voice smooth and regal, like a noble addressing a peasant. "You persist in this futile endeavor. Do you not understand? Nothing you do can harm me. Nothing you possess can touch me."

I clenched my fists, and asked.

"You also have Ash of Negation, right?"

Fen slightly smiled.

"It took you so long to realize" Fen said, "In a sense, you can say I possess Ash of Negation"

Damnit, this fight is going to be nearly impossible to win, but I am not going to give up.

I must land a critical hit, he would never forget.

"Ori," I whispered, and the wolf materialized beside me, his form shifting from a wisp of black mist into his solid, towering shape.

His blue eyes glowed with rage, even in the face of an enemy like Fen.

"Ah, the wolf again," Fen said, his tone almost bored. "A fascinating creature, but ultimately irrelevant. Your beasts, your weapon, your tricks, they are but fleeting shadows against me."

Ori growled, a deep, rumbling sound that seemed to vibrate through the ground.

"If you refuse to break with one strike, then I would try ten strike, if you still don’t, then I will try fifty, if fifty won’t work, then I would try hundred, but in the end you must break somehow" I slowly said, letting it sink into his head...

Which it seems like it didn’t sink.

Instead it bounced off.

Ori stepped forward, his form expanding, growing larger and more menacing with each passing second.

The black mist swirled around him, tendrils of darkness reaching out like grasping hands.

Fen watched, unimpressed, as the mist surged toward him.

The black mist enveloped Fen.

But then, with a casual wave of his hand, Fen dispelled it.

The mist scattered like smoke in the wind, and Ori’s attack was rendered useless.

"Your wolf’s power has always been impressive," Fen said, his voice still calm, still infuriatingly composed. "But it cannot affect me. Nothing can."

I gritted my teeth.

Fen was right, Ori’s abilities, as vast as they were, couldn’t harm him.

Doom’s negation had no effect.

Even my own resurrection, my ultimate failsafe, was meaningless in this fight.

It was only useful for me to resurrect when I die.

Fen wasn’t just strong, he was untouchable.

But I wasn’t going to give up.

"Ori, again!" I commanded, and the wolf lunged forward, his form shifting into mist once more.

This time, he didn’t attack Fen directly.

Instead, he circled him, the black mist swirling faster and faster, creating a vortex of darkness.

The ground beneath Fen’s feet began to crack, the trees around us groaning as if in pain.

Fen raised an eyebrow, his expression one of mild curiosity.

"A valiant effort," he said, "but ultimately futile."

With a flick of his wrist, a silver portal opened above him, and a dozen silver spears shot out.

They moved with impossible speed, piercing through Ori’s mist and striking the ground around me.

I dodged, but one of the spears grazed my arm, drawing blood.

I hissed in pain, but I didn’t stop.

I couldn’t.

I raised my gun, aiming it at Fen.

I pulled the trigger, and shot toward Fen, tearing through the air with a deafening bang!.

Fen didn’t even flinch.

The bullet struck him, and dissipated harmlessly.

He looked at me, his silver eyes cold and unyielding.

"You still don’t understand, Your weapons, your powers, they are meaningless against me. I am above your---." Fen didn’t finish his word, when he somehow heard it.

Which was literally impossible to be heard by anyone.

Fen shifted and the bullet passed him.

But because of the immeasurable speed he moved with, the bullet passed the side of his face, cutting a small tip of his hair.

The silver hair glowed as it fell slowly to the ground.

Fen stood there, unmoving.

That bullet which passed Fen was shot from Doom.

While Ori surrounded him with mist, I controlled it to move afar, and shot it.

But the tricky part in it was that, as I shot the gun i silence it, when the bullet was already close to him, I shot another one which wasn’t silenced.

He heard the second bullet which Impossible to hear or feel but he did, and I expected it.

But it seems like he detected the first bullet, so that’s why he dodged with speed.

I expected him to dodge it, I wasn’t even aiming to kill him for now, I wanted to show him that I could kill him if this fight continues and he isn’t the only one who is strong here and that he isn’t untouchable.

A grin spread on my face.

"Sadly it looks like you made it by your hair didn’t" I said mockingly.

And then, in a flash of silver, Fen was in front of me.

I barely had time to react before his hand shot out, gripping my throat and lifting me off the ground.

I struggled, clawing at his arm, but his grip was like iron.

His silver eyes bore into mine, and for the first time, I saw something in them, not anger, not hatred, but something colder.

I gasped for air, my vision blurring.

I could see Ori running towards me but time seem to be slow.

I tried to control doom to shot him, but I lost control of it.

Don’t know why, but my suspicions instantly moved to Fen.

He temporary disconnected my control somehow, it might be because of his level of existence authority.

I just have to endure for sometime then I can probably be able to gain control back.

Fen’s grip tightened, and I felt something like a energy aimed at my chest.

I looked down to see a silver spear levitating, aimed at my chest.

I tried to speak, to curse him, but no words came out.

Fen’s expression didn’t change.

"You said you can’t permanently die, right" Fen said coldly, "Shall we try it out"

I expected the spear to pass through me the moment he said the word but...

Instead Fen just simply sighed.

And the next thing I saw, was myself flying up, faster than the speed of light.

Did his breath do that to me?

I, Sky was in the Sky.
