In a surprising twist of events, while a lot of people did pass by Alix's booth and make enquiries, nobody was keen to purchase such orchids at a sky high price.

By the time the sun started to set, the two aunties had looks of frustration on their faces. What puzzled them more however was how unbothered Alix seemed to be on the other hand.

She was playing a game and even laughing as if all was well and this worried them.

"Dear, are you okay?" Auntie Mo couldn't take it anymore and she had to ask. She was sitting on Alix's right hand side and she put an arm around her shoulder in a move that was meant to comfort her.

Alix nodded absent-minded. She even wondered why she would not be okay. "Don't worry auntie, someone will come."

She could see the worry on the woman's face and she wanted to comfort her.

Auntie Mo felt a slight sliver of confusion. Between the two of them, who was supposed to be comforting the other? She sighed and patted Alix's back.

Then, she peeked over Alix's shoulder and looked at auntie He. With her eyes, she gestured that they excuse themselves and speak privately.

Even though their communication was silent, Alix could still feel it going on behind her back. When they both stood up and left at the same time, she knew they were scheming. Alix could tell what they what they intended to do from their body language. They were going to concoct some kind of scheme which mostly likely involved them purchasing the orchids secretly.

Jenny returned as the two aunties left. This was her fifth time taking a walk around around the commercial plaza in which the exhibition was being held. She was researching on what they could do to stand out the next day. She approached Alix who was still sitting in the same position she had left her and doing the same thing.

"Director, should we just wrap up and return tomorrow? I have noticed that most booths are already closing up. The exhibition is for three days, we still have time."

Alix looked at her watch and shook her head. "Thirty more minutes. Let's give the buyer thirty more minutes."

Jenny was puzzled and she looked around with her brows furrowed. What mystery buyer was the director waiting for?

"Are you tired?" Alix asked her.

Jenny shook her head, denying the fact even though the exhaustion was written all over her face.

Alix smiled and told her, "You can go home. I can wait these last few minutes by myself."

Jenny strongly waved her hands gesturing a negative response. "Director, how can I leave you here by yourself. I am your personal assistant. My day does not come to an end unless yours does. I am not tired at all, I can even stay all night."

Her words would have been more believable if a small yawn did not choose to escape her mouth at that exact moment.

This led to her blushing out of embarrassment and Alix laughed at her openly. "Tch, you can't even keep up with your own lie."

"Hunger, this is a hungry yawn." Jenny replied instantly.

"Then go and eat." Alix told her.

Their booth was suddenly approached by new guests and Jenny hurried to them in relief. This group of visitors included one older man in round spectacles. He wore an ancient style black suit, and gave off the appearance of a professor. He was accompanied by five younger people that were wearing suits as well. Behind them were two bodyguards following along. The group looked organized and serious, like they were here for a reason.

Jenny with a wide smile on her face said cheerfully as she had been saying all day, "Hello, welcome to our booth. Would you like to take a look at our orchids?"

"Show me how it works?" The older man did not respond to Jenny's overly cheerful greeting and neither did the younger ones. Instead, the older man pointed to one of the musical orchids and commanded.

Alix stood up at that point, put her phone away and approached the group as well.

"Hello, I am Alix, the orchids are mine."

She didn't waste time as she bent down and picked up a violin which she had stuffed next to her bag. She brought it out and went straight to playing. She didn't even waste a second in explaining anything about the white orchid with yellow striped flowers that were facing downwards like a drunk that was slumped over.

The older man and his group kept their eyes on the orchid and the looks on their faces suddenly changed. As if it had conscious life, the orchid started to change and bloom right before their eyes. As it opened up, a yellow glow came from within the flowers. They could swear that the petals too were dancing, or waving.

"It's real!!" the older man exclaimed.

Alix stopped playing then as she had proven what she set set out to prove.

"Play something else." The older man told her.

She got her phone out, searched for a video of Lin Billi playing the piano at a competition from five years ago and she played it.

Something screeched and the flowers closed off. They yellow glow vanished, and it was replaced with red. Slowly, the flowers returned to a slumped state.

Seriously, Alix then said, "As you can see, it thrives when you play quality music, not just any kind of trash."

The older man kept his eyes on Alix and they were filled with a myriad questions that he wanted answered. "How do you explain what seems to be active plant conscience? How does it pick and choose what it considers to be quality music? Under what conditions has it been nurtured? I would like to meet the cultivator of the orchid so that we can discuss more about the implications of this astounding flower."

One of the younger people that came with the older man handed Alix a business card. They had come from the a research institute as she guessed. Earlier on in the day, one of the young men in this group had visited the booth a lot more than most people.

He had been very curious and he listened to Jenny's explanation carefully. After that, he kept passing by and counting the orchids on display while making phone calls. She had been expecting someone to come because the young man was still watching the booth even as the sun started setting.

"I will take the musical orchids, just lead me to the one who cultivated them." The older man said a little bit too desperate than he intended to come off. It was because Alix had not answered any of his questions yet.

Alix thought about the virtual gaming world and blue system elf. What the older man wanted was impossible.

"Sorry, that guy doesn't ever see anyone. If I try to bring you to him or share his contact, he will cut me off." She replied.

She pointed to the other orchids and said, "But, he cultivated all of these so they are just as special and just as rare. I only have twenty orchids in total and I am selling it all. Do you want it?"
