The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 242: Aunties and gossip
When he said stay in to hug, Caishen meant it in every sense of the word. He hugged her through dinner, fed her and himself, then continued hugging her when they exchanged gifts and also when they were in bed chatting before going to sleep.
Like often, the following morning when she woke up, he was gone and she was in bed alone. Rushing through her morning routine, she made her way to the orchid exhibition.
The place was already packed when she arrived, being that it was actually an international event. The flowers had been sent in by competitors from dozens of provinces and regions, especially neighboring countries.
Most of the exhibitioners were professional flower companies and academies. Alix was one of the few individuals that had a booth without any company name or information on her flowers. The single sign at her booth read, 'Very expensive rare exotic orchids.'
Jenny was already there at the booth along with auntie Mo and auntie He. She expected auntie Mo to be there because the woman had said so to her the day before but not auntie He.
"Aunties." she waved at them happily.
Both women took turns giving her hugs, one after the other.
"Thank you for coming." she told them.
She had no idea who had given the other fashion advice but they were both dressed in yellow sundresses with floral patterns. Alix was dressed in a blue sundress similar to theirs, just different in color. It was her auntie Mo that had taken her shopping for this dress but the woman had not bought anything for herself at the time, as far as Alix could recall so the dresses were a surprise.
"Auntie, did you secretly pick out the same dress like mine?" She asked her.
Auntie Mo held her dress at two ends and sort of curtsied.
"What do you think my pretty baby? Do we three look like triplets?" She asked. She looked quite pleased with the choice she had made.
The woman was always ready with a smile, a joke and warmth for Alix every single time.
Alix shook her head and laughed. "Let's take a picture my beautiful aunties." she suggested.
The three hurdled together and Jenny took a picture for them. Alix shared it on her weibo immediately. Then, she put her phone away and looked at the neatly arranged booth. Her original plan was to leave it plain and just put the potted plants around but someone, auntie Mo if she had to guess had decorated the booth.
It had some ribbons, different flowers and she even had slow music playing out of a small bluetooth speaker.
When she noticed Alix looking around, auntie Mo asked her, "What do you think? Others have more professional booths than us. Will we get any buyers?"
Alix nodded confidently. These were not simple ordinary orchids, of course they would get buyers. For her, the most important factor was the money. She was only selling for the price which satisfied her.
She scribbled down an account number on three different cards and wrote down different prices. Then, she handed them out to the three women.
"Aunties, Jenny, this is our price list and this is where deposits are made."
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.
Each of the women gasped at the set price.
Air purifying orchid-----Five million.
Musical orchid----------Ten million.
Good night orchid------Five million.
Blood orchid------------Twenty million.
"Pretty baby!!" Auntie Mo exclaimed.
"This is too high of a price." Auntie He said.
Alix shook her head however and she said, "Aunties, to the right person, this orchid can be worth more than this, especially for those guys into scientific research. Trust me, we will sell everything."
The women were quite uncertain and not as confident as Alix but they figured that it was her orchids so she knew best what to do.
All that was left to do was wait for potential buyers. So, they all sat down to begin what they hoped would be a short wait.
Alix had figured that she would use this time to play around for a bit in the gaming world but then when she looked at her aunts, she begun to worry about how they would spending their time. They would be bored within a few minutes, she reckoned.
"Aunties, you should go and walk around, see what other people are selling instead of hanging around here. I think you will be bored if you sit around all day doing nothing." she suggested.
"Don't worry about us, we have it covered." Aunt He told her.
She opened her bag and pulled out a laptop. Aunt Mo pulled out her phone and airpods.
Aunt He told Alix, "We have music, movies, dramas and games to keep ourselves entertained. If we get tired, there is a hotel next door where we can get some rest and eat something heavy."
"Besides, we can even share a little gossip." Auntie Mo looked at Alix with a silly grin on her face. "You can tell us how you met your husband."
"Ouuh...." Aunt He giggled. "Right, he always looks so serious when you see him alone but he softens up when he is with you."
Auntie Mo also giggled and added, "Both of you looked so lovey dovey at the school last time like a perfectly wed couple that is still in their honeymoon phase."
"But they are still newly weds, the honeymoon phase lasts three months long." aunt He said.
Aunt Mo looked at Alix with pitying eyes and said in an almost sad face, "It's too bad that you didn't get to go for your actual honeymoon. That's one of the best parts of actually getting married, a long relaxing honeymoon vacation. Sun, good food, dancing, swimming, good food."
"You have mentioned good food twice." Aunt He told her.
Aunt Mo laughed and suddenly pinched Alix's cheek. "Our pretty baby likes good food. I am describing her ideal honeymoon vacation. This is the kind of information which her husband needs to hear. Our son-in-law might be clueless."
Aunt He brightened up when the other woman said 'our son-in-law. "You are right, our son-in-law dotes so much on her that he would love to know all this. We should help him out by giving him clues every once in a while."
Alix laughed at both women and the way they talked so gushingly as if they were discussing the greatest romance of the century or perhaps they were discussing the relishing details of a drama which they had both watched the previous night. They seemed to be enjoying themselves surely even though she had not responded to any of their curiosities.
Was this the kind of thing mothers did when they were with their daughters or friends? She couldn't help but wonder.
She also hoped that they continued on with their conversation and forgot to come back around to their first question, namely how she had met Caishen. Of all the things they had talked about, this was not one.
Now that she thought about it, what should she tell people when they ask about her first meeting with him?
She couldn't very well tell the truth. It was time to speak to remind Caishen about this. They needed to craft a cute-meet story for others.
