Chapter 360: Annoying Elias

It was still raining heavily, and Evelyn stood at the side entrance waiting for her masters. She was worried why they were out in the rain for so long knowing her lady had a poor tolerance for cold

"How long will they take?" Evelyn grumbled, her eyes narrowed, trying to see through the downpour. It was super hard to see through the thunderstorm here. Her worry for Cedric increased.

"You don’t have to worry much; they will return soon." Elias chirped from her side, he was also waiting.

"I can’t help it, this storm is bad. Did you see that tree that fell due to the wind? Dear goddess Nyxoria, keep them safe." Evelyn rambled on, her concern was true.

A tired sigh left Elias’s lips. His gaze lingered on Evelyn’s blonde hair before shifting to the rain. His expression was unreadable. "You know the person you are worried about is the same man who killed an entire arm on his own at the age of 13. Your concern seems misplaced; if there is anyone you should be concerned about, it is the princess who is stuck under the downpour."

Evelyn’s face scrunched up, and then she glared at Elias, "No one asked for your opinion, and if you aren’t concerned, why are you waiting here?" She snapped at him

Her voice softened as she remembered the hunt event where the prince and princess were stuck in a cave. "What if they are trapped in a cave or something? I think you should send the knights after them as the next in command." She muttered.

"I have an important message to give to the prince once he arrives and try to relax. Prince Cedric is perfectly fine. It feels like you are a paranoid wife waiting for her husband who went to war. From what I know, the chances of you being his wife are less than zero. "

Evelyn’s face distorted her glare getting fierce, "I don’t see him in that way. He is my master and Saviour, whom I adore, but I don’t have feelings for him. To me, he is my younger brother, and besides, there is someone else I like." Evelyn was so pissed she didn’t mind her words.

Elias’s ears perked up when he heard the ending. "There is someone you like." He repeated in disbelief.

Evelyn, who had just realised what she said, regretted it, but she didn’t let it show. A smug smile crossed her lips, and her hands crossed under her bosom. "Of course, I am a woman; I do have a man I admire. What does it have to do with you? Are you jealous?" She sneered.

Elias was initially stunned, but next, he burst into a laugh. Elias laughed so hard he hugged his stomach.

"So you are capable of loving someone who isn’t Cedric. Who is the poor guy..." Elias’s words were cut short because of the kick that came flying towards him.

He backed away on his guard; after all, she was a dangerous assassin. Evelyn didn’t give him a chance to relax when she attacked again.

She had a hidden blade in her sleeve she used to charge forward. Slashing it at Elias who dodged each strike, the next successive one faster than the other. Evelyn didn’t even give him a chance to pull out his sword and kept him on the defensive.

"Come on Cassandra, relax a bit. If you continue like this you will scare off the guy you fancy." He teased, infuriating Evelyn. The smirk on his lips just proved that he was toying with her the entire time.

She was number 2 so their strength gap should not be too far off. "Shut up Elias, always acting like the more strict person when deep down you are as annoying as hell." Evelyn spat, her teeth gritted.

The blade was very close to Elias’s eye; his smile fell, and for a split second, he became serious. He grabbed her hand, knocking the blade out of it.

Elias pulled her close, his figure towering over her. "Aww, so the princess’s personal bodyguard has an opinion about me. How cute." He smirked, he was so close that it made her feel powerless.

She hated this feeling, her face got a bit red because of how close he was. "Back off," she barked at him, wanting to create a distance between them. A secret blade appeared out of her shoes; she aimed it at him and was about to kick him.

Elias sensed the danger coming and quickly created a distance between them avoiding the kick. Elias didn’t stop there, he was enjoying this way too much.

"Aww she is blushing, so you really have a heart. Axel will definitely love to hear this." Evelyn’s fury exploded; she lost her cool trying to attack him, swinging blades at Elias, but he effortlessly avoided it all.

"Wait, don’t tell me the one you like is Axel; you should tell him. After all, you are already 29, a year away from 30. I don’t want you to end up a splinter." That was it. Evelyn could not stand him.

"I hate you," she snapped; this time around, Elias’s eyes darkened. He didn’t evade her attack but tackled her. Her back was slammed against the wall with him looming above her. He has already disarmed her.

"If you keep on attacking aimlessly you will never win. I am not Number 1 for fancy." He warned her, his stern personality was back.

Evelyn’s face went cold. "You are too close, Elias." She said,

He tilted his face, "Wait, you have a problem with me being close. Is it because I am not your precious Axel?" He sneered, his expression unreadable.

Evelyn’s throat went dry, lost for words as she stared back at Elias’s hazel eyes.

Someone cleared their throat in the background followed by a female voice. "Are they meant to be doing that? It’s an open place." Abrielle asked Cedric, acting oblivious.

Evelyn and Elias’s attention was immediately grabbed. They moved away from each other to stare at the royal couple that had just arrived. Cedric has Abrielle on his back. The princess hugging his shoulders obviously enjoying the piggyback ride
