The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 353: Time to move on
Chapter 353: Time to move on
The room grew awkward after Betty left, the ladies silently sipping their tea. "I will be leaving for my hometown soon. I can’t wait to see my family. Especially my baby." Becky finally chimed lifting the atmosphere.
"What’s her name?" Abrielle asked excitedly; the thought of the baby made her feel a warmth in her heart.
"Lucy, that’s the name I chose. She had turned a year a few months back."Becky chimed excitedly.
She then went ahead to update Abrielle; it turns out Cedric’s people had written to her hometown, which was faster to ask about her family, and word came back that they were fine.
Her husband had struggled to keep the family going and her mother had nursed Lucy using goat’s milk. Tears welled up in Becky’s at the thought of seeing her family again.
"That’s truly splendid. Your husband is a good man." Abrielle chimed in, making Becky smile. "Pete has always been a hard worker," Becky’s eyes were filled with pride
"But your husband is truly wonderful. I had no idea his highness was this supportive. He is a good man and you are truly lucky, your highness." Becky suddenly praised Abrielle, leaving her stunned.
If she was told when she came to this world Cedric would be praised as a good man. She would roll her eyes so hard they would fall off. "Thank you," she muttered.
"I can’t wait to get to Vitalis, my family will be so surprised to see me." Cecilia, the healer and protection magic user, chimed in. Soon, everyone started talking about their longings and who they missed.
Cedric was amazing as Abrielle would describe him. He has really put in a lot of effort to help the girls; she felt she needed to thank him.
Camilla watched on the sidelines. How nice it would be to have a home to go to? Should she go back to her family? She wondered, then shook her head; if she did, Richard would find her. Maybe going to the capital to start afresh was the best. Who knows what she might find?!
But in a silent corner of her heart, she was aching. She missed the man she fell in love with. Richard was the best thing that happened in her life before it all fell apart.
She didn’t think she would ever forget him. Life was cruel. Why was she barren, never to bear her own child? She saw the way Becky’s eyes sparkled as she spoke of her children.
Unlike her, who was the wife of a rich merchant. Becky came from a middle-class family that relied on one source of income.
Her husband worked for the government as a social worker since he was educated and earned just enough to support the family. With the little they had Becky seemed happy, even back when they were in captivity whenever It felt so hopeless
Becky always spoke about her family; she joked about her dramatic mother-in-law who paid regular visits to help with the children because she was bored. How the mother-in-law nagged her and even pissed her off at times, yet they had funny and loving moments.
How her second born child and only son, always played silly pranks with his sister and the time the boy cut her sister’s hair during the spring festival celebration. That was her favourite story.
Simple moments like that, moments Camilla’s family was never blessed with. It was what Camilla wished for more than everything. A single tear threatened to escape her eyes but she quickly wiped it off.
"Are you alright Camilla?" Cecilia asked, sensing something wrong with Camilla, that has been quiet the entire time. Camilla nodded, "I had something in my eyes." She made an excuse that Cecilia seemed to have believed.
Camilla nervously took a sip of her tea, trying to enjoy the moment, "By the way, I have a cousin who works as a royal physician and is in search of a wife. I am certain Camilla will be a good match. I plan on introducing them once we get to Vitalis." Cecilia declared.
Camilla spat out her tea, almost choking on the liquid. A maid quickly came to her side while she coughed.
"Sorry, did I mispeak? You aren’t married, are you? I assumed you weren’t since you never mentioned your husband." Cecilia quickly apologized.
Camilla shook her head, using a napkin to wipe her lips. "No, it’s fine; I wasn’t expecting you to suddenly play matchmaker." She nervously laughed.
"Are you married, Camilla?" Becky asked, curious about the girl who got brought to the death’s bite base at the same time as her.
"I was married, " Camilla replied; everyone assumed her husband was dead because that was the only way a marriage blessed by the holy goddess could be broken.
"That’s sad. Don’t worry, my cousin will treat you well. He is such a kind-hearted fellow who lost his wife at sea in a shipwreck and hasn’t been able to move on, but last I spoke with him, he mentioned his intention to move on. He is just too busy attending to the Queen Dowager." Cecilia mentioned.
A faint smile on Camilla’s lips maybe it was time she moved to the top

"I will be just a bell away if you need me," Evelyn informed Abrielle, they just got back to the room after having a wonderful tea party with the ladies. After the party, they had lunch together
Betty joined them for lunch. She barely said a word the entire time which Abrielle appreciated.
Abrielle was in a much better mood now.
"I will," Abrielle replied, she was exhausted and wanted to have a short nap.
Evelyn turned about to leave when she was stopped by Abrielle’s voice. "Betty said she heard that I ran away. Find out who is gossiping about me, I am certain Cedric won’t approve of it."
It was a silent threat Evelyn understood.
"I will look into it, Your Majesty. No one has the right to disrespect the mistress of the house." Evelyn responded.
Abrielle’s eyes darkened as she stared at Evelyn’s back, who was about to leave the room.
"That includes you, Evelyn."
"Yes, including me, your highness."
