The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 350: Promise
Chapter 350: Promise
The metallic scent of blood mix with his intoxicating scent of danger. He always smelled like wildflowers and spices.
She was terrified without a doubt but yet, a part of her craved the danger. Abrielle admitted to one fact he was driving her crazy.
The kiss was short, his head bending over to the crook in her neck.
"As much as it feels pleasurable to ruin the one threat close to me, I can’t because hurting you is worse than kill myself. Most of the time I want to cherish you more than everything including my life. Your existence is driving me crazy I don’t think it’s normal for me to want to love someone so much that I also want to ruin you for hurting me so much Abrielle but in the end I am helpless against you."
His teeth grazed her skin, she was terrified but also excited. He wasn’t the only one growing crazy. Her legs clenched as a sudden ache there hit her. She was being turned on by the danger.
The subtle pain mixed with sparks sent waves of pleasure through her body. His breath was fanning across the red spot his teeth grazed. Her breath was getting haggard and all over the place.
"What will I do to make you trust me enough not to leave?" He asked, his voice hoarse. His presence was making it hard for her to think straight. She took a deep breath to get her chaotic thoughts in place, her body that was reacting when it should not.
She swallowed nervously, her lips nervously parting. "If you can assure you will never kill me or let someone else do the same no matter what. If you can ensure my safety in your world filled with lies and danger. If you can make me trust you, and you do the same." She requested, the air suddenly got thick, her lungs barely able to draw in a breath.
She wondered if she said something wrong and out of place. "You think I will kill you." His voice was calm, but there was something very cold about it.
"It’s my biggest fear, I am being honest. The royal family is dangerous, and I know you don’t have it any less difficult. One way or the other we both know the only way you can survive is unless you become king and that will be dangerous." She explained further, Cedric’s hand curled around her waist pulling her closer for a hug.
Her dress was already pretty much stained with blood, his blood that wasn’t stopping due to the venom preventing it from clotting but he wasn’t bothered by it because he knew that he wasn’t going to die from blood loss.
"I will become King, Abrielle. Even without you saying it, that was the only way. You don’t have to be scared about harm coming your way, even if Draconia has to burn to the ground I will protect you." He swore, she understood what he meant. Abrielle shook her head knowing the battle was going to be cruel and Cedric alone couldn’t stand it.
"Does it have to be that way. What if you fail Cedric? Why don’t we just run away from everything? I am sure you have the ability to. Maybe we can go to another continent and live as merchants." She suggested trying to change his mind.
She knew her attempt was void, to Cedric taking the throne was not just to survive but his only way to get his revenge on the people that he calls her family. It was his vengeance.
His hold tightened around her, her head was against his chest. She heard his heart beat that was chaotic. Her brows furrowed wondering if it was fear. His scent was relaxing and time seemed to have slowed down.
There was no way he would leave everything behind just for her, "I wish I could, but where can I possibly go? I am a threat, no matter where I am. Even if we hide our identities we will have to leave on the run constantly to stay undetected. No one would want the bloodthirsty general in his kingdom."
Abrielle went silent understanding what he meant. There was nowhere Cedric could leave peacefully with his reputation.
"You really don’t have a choice," her hands clutched his shirt. His path wasn’t so different from her, Cedric was destined to die in Lucian’s hand in the end when his madness consumed him.
She wondered since some things have changed now was there a slim chance to change their fate now the plot control wasn’t strong.
"You don’t have to be scared, there is a large chance of me winning with you at my side."
She broke the hug then glanced at him. Her blue eyes filled with genuine concern, "Can you promise one thing?" Her voice was gentle, he hesitantly agreed afraid of what her demand might be.
"As long as it is doable," he said and she smiled.
"If things ever get to the point our lives are in danger, promise me you will find a way to escape. It’s better we leave as fugitives than die as traitors, there is no honour in that."
"I promise." freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Then I guess we are in this together. I want to train not because I want to run but to defend myself to be able to help you which is helping me in return. Let me be of help to you."
Something stirred in his heart hearing a genuine smile crossed his lips. "In that case I guess I have no other choice than to train you myself."
Her eyes went wide stunned he wanted to train her directly. "But you are too busy, I don’t want to take more of your time and Evelyn will be enough."
Asking for him training her was just too much. She knew how busy he was with his schedule and everything. The moment they are back in the capital his hands would be filled, if events are still following the plot.
"Every second spent with you will be worth it. I will consider it as taking time to get to know you."
